Josh is one of a kind. His voice is medicine of the heart. With a nation filled with strife and internal turmoil we need those voices more than ever. It's the quiet before the storm. The spring rains. The whisper of peace.
Josh, I have been fan since you started. I saw your first tour in Wichita, KS. It was very plain. You walked on the stage alone, no orchestra, no backup singers, no leading act. Just you. And it was awesome. For lots of reasons I will probably only live another year. It's ok. I am old and have lived a long life. But you have certainly added to the joy of my life. Thanks so much for sharing your talent with me and the world. May you have all the blessings and happiness you deserve.
In these days of (covid-19) separation, this amazing performance brought tears to my eyes, with my children living close, but too far away. The performance starts about six and a half minutes in.
This is such an emotional song for me. It is not easy to hear it and not fall apart because I lost someone near and dear to me in a senseless situation.
What I really love about Josh Groban, is that he sings it as his own song, and not as the character. That is unique, in my opinion. Its like hearing Josh Groban in the situation instead of the character, and I like that a lot. Sure he doesn't have -insert whatever defines a cookie cutter top tier musical theatre technique-, but who cares? His voice touches your heart. Little things like "Hurr durr weird consonants etc" don't really matter when he's making you cry.
Josh, My Josh! Your voice is so PURE!! Love your singing ! God gave you a beautiful voice to share with the world! This song suits you so well to show the world your gifted talent!
When he sings this song I am reminded of every Mother and Father thinking these words when their sons and daughters have been in Iraq and Afghanistan over the past years.
I read your post. I believe it is like you posted. I was only getting bring him home. And my sister was in Saudi Arabia and their site was bombed. I was so glad when she retired.
I have been this young mans top fan since 1999. I have seen him in every concert here in KC and have never regretted a second or a dime spent on seeing him. He is beyond awesome. His talent can't be measured. He does lyrics, composes, key boards, drums, acts, dances, been in TV, movies and stages. He is funny, smart and down to earth. He can sing in about 6 different languages too. I don't think he could hit a bad note if he tried. His music has seen me through some good times and bad as well. I have all of his CD's and DVD's. I pray I can see him one more time. His wit and charm are sincere and warm. I know I will never get to meet him, but that is in my top 3 bucket list of things to do. God blessed us all with him and his gifts and I am forever grateful to have been here to experience it all.
Josh Groban are a gifted and talented singer that can express the meaning and emotions of the composer/writer with his voice. His voice goes deep into your soul and can understand the song w/o even knowing the language. You're just superb and magnificent! I wish you great health and years success for our enjoyment. Thank you!!
Beautiful! Apart from Hugh Jackman's performance in the 2012 movie adaptation, this has to be one of the best performances of this song ever. I'm impressed that Josh has enough range to hit the high notes at the end- this can't be easy to sing.
but not mature enough yet for Jean val Jean role-maybe later..I love listening to all the different tenors sing this role! I just ENJOY them all and thank God for MUSIC, and that I have ears to appreciate it!
The song was especially written for Colm Wikinson the first Valjean and a tenor.it took along time for me to get used to this but i do love Josh and i like it a lot
I enjoyed his song! If it was "tired and horrible" I didn't notice! As a matter of fact, it showed a lot of feeling.. Yes, it was early in the morning, but I enjoyed how he sang it and I look forward to seeing him when he comes to Buffalo in October!
I love this version of this song, but then I love everything about josh. He can sing anything and make it his own. But this song makes me cry. He has such emotion in his voice
I'm a 68 year old great grandma, but would anybody out there mind if I had Josh groban for my toyboy please haha, he,s fabulous and I never get sick of hearing him sing
New album dies it have Februarys Song on it one of my favorite. Its a miraculous month. When my daughter was born. Also very cool and winter nice weather.
@Josh Groban Can't believe you are the famous Josh Groban I first heard your rendition of You Raise Me Up many years ago, for me it's the definitive version.I am 83 grew up in an era where popular singers could actually sing without autotune did not need to use vocal gymnastics, which destroys the lyrics and melody.Sinatra, Mathis, Vic Damone good singers I grew up with.Have studied music and singing. So refreshing when I first heard you sing. You have a rich baritone voice (almost a tenor ) great vocal technique, intonation and really know how to interpret lyrics, without over singing
@Josh Groban We have spoken privately Josh. If you cannot remember ,it must not have meant very much to you.,as it did to me because I adore you ❤️. But it doesn't matter how much I love you, I will not be made a fool of for anyone. You are very famous and have lots of women who love you, and are younger than I am. I am not interested in your wealth or anything that you may own. I am a lady of simple means. Love and trust and care. That is all I have ever wanted, but you stopped speaking to me, and that hurt. Why could you not just tell me that you are not interested
@Josh Groban I am sorry darling. But I am not going to make a fool of myself again. I will always love you and I will never stop listening to your singing and music. And the funny little jokes that you do.but that is all.I cry everything I listen to you. But I am not getting involved again to have my heart broken. Keep up with your beautiful singing and your other talents. Good luck. And Good bye. Love you forever 💓 💛 💗 ❤️
I remember way back years ago Oprah had this young 16-year-old kid on her show...I was totally floored! Loved him ever since. What an AMAZING GIFT he has!!!
His new album is #1 in the UK, not in the US. I guess only the British ppl have a refined taste in music, while my fellow Americans are too busy with keeping up with the Kardashians.
Josh is one of a kind. His voice is medicine of the heart. With a nation filled with strife and internal turmoil we need those voices more than ever. It's the quiet before the storm. The spring rains. The whisper of peace.
I still can't believe that Josh Groban can sing like that! Absolutely amazing!

It's such a beautiful thing to just have a piano and a grand voice like Josh's.
Sometimes quality exceed quantity.

His new album is #1 in the UK, not in the US. I guess only the British ppl have a refined taste in music, while my fellow Americans are too busy with keeping up with the Kardashians.
Wow
there were audible gasps in "Live" audience just before he began singing...
