No thoughts on weight distribution at setup? I would guess 70/30 front foot favored. That is how he gets his shoulders level. All the great wedge players do that. Pelz advocates for a neutral ball position centered between the ankles. I personally like to move it around to change trajectories.

Ok one beef I have is calling that "back in his stance". This is why most people struggle with the half wedge. His stance is extremely narrow (which is good for this shot to limit lateral movement) and his ball is actually even with his shirt placard so it's actually pretty neutral ball position. Most will here this and take their normal width stance and play it off the back foot which engages too much of the leading edge and get the club too steep.
The part about spine angle being more vertical and pelvis in downswing is very good though.

Spot on. I just moved the ball from back heel to 5 iron position and get much better spin, bite, height and consistency. Was always told to play it back in my stance.

It's his own swing, a lot of people can stick it like Jordan without having his swing. It's just repetition. If I putted with one hand for years then I'll be good with one hand. Even if it takes longer

KNOW the fundamentals and then don't let anyone change your swing.

Matt, you don't see that ball back of center? -

Maybe a little bit but they point at his trail foot so if a person doesn't take that narrow of a stance the ball will be positioned toward the trail shoulder which will make a shallow angle of attack and narrow spinloft impossible - which is very important for the bruising of the grass and low checking spinner.

What Traves is saying, the handle moves/turns to the left is something I need to try, I guess.. .....What about if the hands go more towards the target? Thanks

I would stay away from that thought... you would be introducing inconsistent lever manipulation. Spieth does it to a certain degree, but he has practiced thousands of hours to master that technique/pattern. Cheers! 🙂

Really nice. Thank you. I myself feel also that I need to straightening up right after impact or maybe even before and in follow through...but maybe it is byproduct of turning.

You got it! 🙂 And, yes... keep your height at all cost, even if you feel you have to elevate slightly after impact. I like your thinking!

Live TV catch phrase for sure, but hopefully you picked up something from what he had to say or from simply observing Jordan's motion. Cheers!
