If you retire on 28 September, it is in the middle of a pay period but end of month. Do you get half Sick Leave (2hrs) and half annual leave (4hrs)? What about TSP. Is there still and TSP contributions and Agency matching like the 1%?
As to which month to retire - depends on if you are under 62 and want to get 100% of the SRS - since the rules of SS earning limits apply ($1 loss for every $2 earned) (a bit over 21,000 for CY23) - which means if you want 100% of the SRS you need to go (retire) in Jan or Feb to keep the AGI below the SS earnings limits.
The date in 2025 I have chosen to retire - Sept 26- is the first Friday in PP 21. If I wait until the next Friday, the end of the pay period, it is a new month ..Oct 3. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated !
