UNTERTITELFUNKTION AKTIVIVEREN, UNTERTITELFUNKTION AKTIVIVEREN, UNTERTITELFUNKTION AKTIVIVEREN, UNTERTITELFUNKTION AKTIVIVEREN,
David Overholt here, writer/director of Star Wars Fallen Jedi! Thank you to each and every one of you for taking the time to watch our film! We worked for three long years on this project, so to see it being well received by an audience means the world to me!
Final reaction: WHEN IS THE NEXT ONE??! :D
Various other thoughts:
The first original character who really caught my eye was Faust. So much in the mold of the original Imperials. Really well played.
"Quiet" acting from inside the masks -- makes it look natural.
Big grin when I saw Jamie Costa named in the creds (assume those were shout-outs).
The space FX were rough, and sound mixing was up and down, but indoor sets and all the costuming came off pretty good. Everyone looked comfortable in their own skin.
And best of all, the story works. Easy to believe this is the newly-minted Vader, still unsure of his goals and trapped in his new life.
Holy cow this actually got the attention of an actual studio! That's awesome!
Mate.... MATE!!!! you just made a star wars film (A) worth watching (B) not woke Disney garbage and (C) I appreciate guys and gal's like yourself! It's a shame disney/lucasFilm can't be arsed hiring decent writers...
This is a masterpiece buddy

Thanks again and may the Firce be with you!!
GREAT WORK BROTHER!! GREAT WORK!!
Please pass to the cast and crew!!
LOVE IT!!
This is what Star Wars is supposed to be. Once again, a labor of love fan project does better than what Disney farts out.
I'm glad you liked the film! We tried as hard as we could to be true to George Lucas' vision of Star Wars. We were hoping fans would be happy with this movie!
I'm glad to see people complimenting fan films, but we all know disney is terrible nowadays especially at making star wars, I dont think it needs to be mentioned and taint a compliment.
Just my opinion lol no need to feed into hate, thats what the empir- I mean disney would want. :D
@@insidemyhead22 It is a great feeling knowing people are enjoying our film! Especially after working on it so hard for three years.
Amen to that. This was just an amazing film. Thank you to whomever made this. Now this is Star Wars! 😘

"Hello there!" The Empire greets you sir! Thank you so much for checking out our film I really appreciate it! We hope you enjoy the film, may the Force be with you!
That was amazing, Father! The sheer amount of mastery put into this film would be hard to replicate, from the beautiful shots to the emotional climaxes, this is definetly a movie ill be watching again! Enjoyed it more than I did the sequels, thats for sure. Thank you for giving us this work of art.
That really means a lot to me, I was hoping we could give Star Wars fans something they would truly enjoy with this film! It's a great feeling knowing that you enjoyed not only the look of the film but the more emotional moments of the story as well. Thank you for watching, it really warms my old cyborg heart knowing you enjoyed all of our hard work!
Thank you so much to everyone in the chat! It felt like having the Premiere night at the Theater all over again! It was great talking with you all and seeing your reactions to different moments in the film! May the Force be with you all, and Happy New Year!
May the force be with you too. Happy new year
This 1:09.29 fanfilm was light-years better than what Disney came up with those crappy pointless films.
We really tried to get the text crawl just right to get the tone and feel of the George Lucas' openings. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you so much for this fan film great job excellent best Star Wars fan film ever may the force be with us always.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the film! Thank you for taking the time to watch it and for your kind words it really means a lot to me! Happy New Year, and may the Force be with you!
Of course I couldn't leave this year without seeing your film. And you keep your promise from the trailer, it IS a nostalgic journey to the original trilogy! First of all, I really like that your film also starts with a space battle. The scene where Vader lifts the Jedi with the Force reminds me a lot of the first meeting between Vader and Ben in this year's Kenobi series, and of course your scene was shot much earlier, but that's the curse of fan films, I can sing a song about it 😊The cinematographer does a very good job and manages to capture some truly epic shots . Right from the start I am very impressed with the emotional and perfectly timed use of the score. The story sets emotional standards right from the start and the hero gets his motivation so well understood. You are directly invested in his story. And that is exactly where the strength of this project lies. Many of the current fan films (thanks to Unreal Engine etc.) are more pure effect reels than storytelling. Here we have a real story that might as well be canon. You have this nice, familiar Star Wars feeling and just want to know what happens next! The Bounty Hunters seem super authentic, greedy, devious and also a bit clumsy. Which does not apply to Darth Vader at all, holy moly. Respect the sword fighting skills of the actor are great! But I especially liked the twist that it was always about Vader and his development to the powerful Sith Lord we all know from the OT. And just like our movie, yours ends on Dagobah, HOW GREAT ! We have more in common than I thought 😊
Thanks for the great entertainment, I wish you and your family a happy new year, we'll hear from each other in a galaxy far, far away 2023
Thank you so much for not only checking out our film, but also for all of your kind words! You guys know film making, so knowing you enjoyed the movie, and appreciated all of the hard work that went into this really means a lot to me! Thank you for this mini review, its great to hear what people enjoyed specifically about the movie. And yeah I was disappointed when Vader lifted Kenobi up by all the fire on the Kenobi series. Because we had that sequence storyboarded back in 2019. But you know how that goes with studios beating you to the punch haha
I'm glad this was able to give you a nostalgic Star Wars feeling! That's what its all about. It was great to hear how much you enjoyed the movie, and its cool your film ends on Degobah too!! I can't wait to review the rest of your series!
Thank you for watching our film, Happy New Year to you and your family! And May the Force be with you!
Credit where credit is due. While I came up with a few shots myself, the majority of the film comes from our director's storyboards. He had a very clear idea of what this movie was going to look like before we started.
But when I had an idea that wasn't on paper he was always game to try it. Sometimes it ended up in the movie sometimes it didn't. It was always for the best. Couldn't be happier with the final product.
@@mikeoverkill2485 As you say, credit where credit is due. This film wouldn't have been possible with out your hard work and creativity! You made the most of every location and made the woods look cinematic!
Lord Vader, why did you have the Jedi Master fade into the Force and leave his robes? I was under the impression that the first time Vader saw that was in ep 4 with Kenobi. Very good film though. Keep it up.
The reason we had the Jedi fade was to make it clear for the audience that he had fully returned to his Jedi ways and was at peace. I don't remember if canonically Obi Wan was the first Jedi Vader saw disappear or not. The fade was just to show Vong Zaar was in the right place again before the end.
The Choreograph Duel was Absolutely Amazing To Witness,I Watched It Several Times Now,I Commend You And Your Team for making this Masterpiece,I love that
Vader was thinking of his past, and that this may have planted the seed of deceit with
Palpatine, Anakin Skywalker was Always in VADER, just suppressed. You Played Vader Masterfully!! Thank You for making this!
Oh and Coracant at 56:04 was Awesome
Comments like these mean the world to me and our whole team! We worked so hard on the saber choreography, so knowing people enjoyed it is very rewarding! It was 98 degrees out there while we were fighting, and those temperatures took their toll on me! But seeing how much you enjoyed the final result makes all the pain worth it!
And thank you very much for the compliments on our I played Vader, I did my best to channel David Prowse, James Earl Jones, and Hayden Christensen to try and capture elements from each of their performances. Thank you again for watching and for your kind words!
13:19 Awesome Imagery, Absolutely Love this Film!! You Were Awesome My Friend!! Kudos to you and your team for this fanfilm
That really means a lot to me! Thank you, knowing a Vader fan was happy with the film is a great seal of approval! The whole platform scene is one of my favorite sequences in the entire movie honestly. I'm glad you enjoyed it, and thank you again for the comment! Its really encouraging reading all of these!!
Jesus christ flawless acting to everyone involved! And goddam bloody awesome work from vader inparticular that thorn of rebellion to lord sidious before he got torched by force lightning you can really tell the conflict he still has inside
The Empire greets you sir! Thank you for your kind words, I'll be sure to pass on your compliments to our other actors in the film! It is a great feeling to have your hard work appreciated. I'm glad you enjoyed the film as well as the portrayal of Vader in particular. It is extremely gratifying to know I did Vader justice with my performance. Thank you again for your comment!
That was so fantastic my lord, you do a amazing job. Definitely worth the wait. Am so glad it turn out well. Fight scenes were really good. I will spread this fan film far and wide.
Thank you Battalion Commander for all the support you've shown the channel during the making of this film! I'm glad it was worth the wait for you, and that you enjoyed it so much! We spent months practicing for the lightsaber duels in this movie. I'm happy you like it, and thank you for sharing it with people!!
Way better than the newer version of it I want more old friend make more even and it has nothing to do with Vader or anybody like that expand on it old friend

Well thank you, we certainly put a lot of work into this project. I'm glad you enjoyed it, but I understand it may not be for everybody. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and we always want people to feel free to speak their minds here at Vader Reviews.
This was real good! Like the emotion the commander was showing when he realized that his captain died via dismemberment. Think thats something that isn't normally seen in StarWars, some emotion over the face that one of your tip guys just died in front of you
Thank you my friend! Yeah we wanted to show a change in Faust, showing how cold and evil he is when he's in control. Contrasting how panicked and cowardly he gets tge second things don't go his way.
Wizard
I'm glad you enjoyed the film!
This is a True Darth Vader's lightsaber Skills, all people said that he is slow, he might be a slow in walking, but he is so fast like Anakin in duel
The Empire greets you! I'm glad you enjoyed the Anakin feel of the saber duel in our film! We really wanted to combine the characters of Anakin and Vader to bridge the gap between Episode 3 and 4. Thank you for taking the time to watch our film, I'm glad you liked it!
Vader 9:00 - It is over Jedi, I have the High Ground !!
Excellent reference my friend!
This movie is incredible. It gives me the inpression that you truely understand star wars with emphasis on the spirituality of it and their view points, it's so good. Spoiler alert incoming.
When Vader comments on "did the republic rid the galaxy of slavery, did they bring order to the galaxy? No you will pay for their failure."
Anakin has such a harsh view of what it takes to bring peace and believes the republic never did what was necessary to make it so. I loved this.
The voices are good, all around, even if not perfect you still capture the soul of each voice. Even Emperor Palpatine though the least sounding exactly like him(though still quite good), the soul and character of palpatine is still there in how he talks. Same with all of them.
The light saber duels are boss af. Very creative, so well done, so suspenseful.
I love the way you have the blind Jedi forgive himself and forgive Vader and is thus free to ascend into the force from that alone. So awesome.
Him disapearing before Vader strikes him down was pretty cool too.
The Palpatine vader scenes are so good. Idk if that healer is an actual character but him healing vader by enduring his pain is pretty cool.
The deep dialogue in the conversation between Vader and Palpatine is so good as Palpatine finds ways to console and advise him. This is deeper explanation than even the movies.
You have a gift. This stuff is good, really good. Literally parts of it is even alittle better than the movies imo.
I would love to see more please. A great passion you have for this and it shows in this soulful movie.
The Empire greets you!! Reading your comment really meant a lot to me, because it makes me very happy that you not only enjoyed the film, but you also appreciated all of the references we put into the script.
I'm glad you noticed the spiritual side of the story as well as the differing points of view of all the characters. We wanted to really bring Anakin's character to the forefront of this film. His disillusionment and bitterness towards the Republic and the Jedi.
James Earl Jones and Ian McDairmid are definitely tough acts to follow haha so I'm also happy you liked the voice work. We were hoping Palpatine would feel authentic in how he was written.
Thank you so much for your wonderful comment! It means so much to our whole team that you liked our film and understood what we were going for. This film was three years in the making, and we tried to stay as true to George Lucas's vision for Star Wars as we could. Combining the personality and even fighting style of Vader and Anakin.
Again I'm so happy that you enjoyed not just the fight, but the deeper thematic elements of our movie like the Jedi's act of forgiveness, and Palpatine's scenes with Vader. You gave the film very high praise indeed. And it is both rewarding and humbling. Thank you my friend for all your kind words! May the Force be with you!!
Awesome Movie! It Had Depth, Pathos, Drama. Shooting and Sabers and Blowin Stuff Up! If Only Disney could still do this.
Thank you my friend! We couldn't have made this film with out your help! I'm glad you enjoyed the movie, we really hoped everyone would like it! We tried really hard to make this film feel as true to George Lucas' vision for Star Wars as we could. You can never have too many Sabers, or Explosions!!
Omg. Thank you! My knee jerk is throw a put down on Dizneyfilm, but why? It would distract from your marvelous accomplishment. Amazing work. Your channel just gained a patron!

@Vader Reviews you're welcome lord vader what was the inspiration design for Vong Zarr lightsaber?
@@noahstewart7501 When I designed Vong Zaar's lightsaber I looked through the Star Wars visual dictionary for Episode I and II and looked at every lightsaber. I found out what they all had in common, and picked out my favorite unique details.
I drew up bout 4 designs before letting our actor that played Vong Zaar ultimately pick his favorite one. He sort of combined elements of two of them together. So it was kind of a team effort. His saber was also designed with combat in mind, so we made it more sleek so it would be easier to twirl.
This is such an amazing movie! I can image how much precious time and effort you have put into this! The best fan made Star Wars film ever! Keep up the outstanding work!👍👍👍
Thank you very much for all the kind words, you have no idea how happy it makes me to see so many great people like you enjoying the movie! It was definitely a labor of love, but knowing Star Wars fans are happy with the final product makes it all worth while!
@@VaderReviews No problem. You deserve this sort of feedback.
While I found the pacing a little slow I enjoyed the film. Some amount of work. Thought the female palawan was excellent and would have welcomed a larger role for her in terms of screen time. You were excellent as always as Vader. Congrats to all on a worthwhile and impressive contribution to the Star Wars universe.
Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed the film!! There were a couple parts in hind sight we would have tightened up in the editing process if we had the time. The Probe Droid scene lingers a little too long I think. I'm glad you liked the Kia character!! I wish she could have been in the film more myself because she's a good friend of mine. But she lives in a different state than me, so it was difficult to arrange our shooting schedule. Thank you for the kind words, and for watching the film!
At 34:40 it gives me a Dooku vs Kenobi Vibe from AOTC
Saber locks at a lot of extra intensity to a duel! We tried to make sure and add in a few of those.
Obi-wan: ´´I´m sorry Anakin...for all of it´´.
Ahsoka: ´´I won´t leave you...not this time´´.
Vong Zaar: ´´I forgive you...Anakin´´.

Poodooh I missed the premiere 😥 But what a tremendous production you have constructed my Lord. Only one question, UA-cam appears to have compressed the footage a bit too much for my old eyes. Would there be a higher quality download per chance that a fan could enjoy time and again?
I'm sorry you missed the premiere, but I'm so happy that you enjoyed the movie! Unfortunately this is as high quality as I could upload the film. Holly fuck! "They kill now"?! Lightsabers I mean.. XD So good to see the Sith and Jedi weapons being treated with some respect.
Yes, we didn't really care for how non lethal Lightsabers were in the Kenobi series ( particularly when people are stabbed with them )
I was 14 when the original came out in 1977. You have recaptured the spirit of the original Star Wars. I loved it. If it was on DVD, I'd buy it. I wish Disney would sell the franchise to you. I think you would bring it back to its former glory.

Thank you very much, we were hoping this film would make long time Star Wars fans happy. We made sure not to contradict anything from the Original or Prequel Trilogies. So that way there would be a sense of continuity. As life long Star Wars fans ourselves, getting the characters right was very important to us. And I'm glad you enjoyed our work!
watching the empire eradicate the scummy jedi is an absolute pleasure.
FOR THE EMPIRE! I'm glad you enjoyed the film! You can never get enough saber practice, so facing down these Jedi was pretty wizard!
Right before a New Year my friend.
I look forward to watching your career with great interest!!
Kudos on making Starwars great again!!
How long did it take for you to write this script? It's phenomenal
Thank you my friend! I'm glad you enjoyed out film, we wrote the film in about three months. The story actually came together pretty quickly since we didn't have a whole lot of characters to deal with. Thank you for the compliment on the script! Brilliant move!! Mind tricking the Stormtroopers to turn on Vader! Awesome idea
Thank you my friend, we wanted to sort of take Kenobi's mind trick from Episode 4 up a notch. We also thought it was poetic justice that Vader essentially experienced his own version of Order66 as his troops turned on him.
Why didn't order 66 work on Vader when he attacked the Jedi temple
We finally get to see you in action my lord! ^^

I legitimately enjoyed it, congratulations my friend; you've definitely made something that we the fans can enjoy. Bravo👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

@@VaderReviews defintely better than 7 8 9. The story was really awesome and didnt expect that this jedi will forgive Vader.
@@Knight0210 We were hoping people would enjoy the story and not just the lightsaber duel. So that means a lot to us! We wanted to show the Jedi had found true peace in his last moments, and was even able to let go of what Vader had done. Forgiveness and redemption are important themes you don't see much in movies these days.
Vader fights like Dave Prowse i love that
Thank you!! I worked very hard to try to capture some of his body language for this film! I'm glad you liked it!!
Oh My Lord, as my mom would say… lol 😆. This was simple incredible from start to end. Simply Wizard. I am so happy to see you fulfilled your destiny and made your own Star Wars Fan Film. It felt like Star Wars. The lightsaber battle was really good. I was wondering when they mentioned a Temple. I thought he was going to take Vader to it to try and draw the Force from it or something to that extent. Loved it all. Very well done. Truly Wizard. I do want more, but I guess I will just have to watch it again !! Impressive, most impressive. May The New Year be with you and bring you peace and joy.
Thank you for your kind words my friend! Knowing that this felt like Star Wars to you really means a lot to me and our whole team! We were hoping Star Wars fans would enjoy this film. We worked so hard on everything from the effects, and lightsaber duel, to the music and writing. We wanted it to feel as true to George Lucas' vision for Star Wars as we could given our budget and production crew.
I wanted to have a Jedi Temple in the film, but we weren't able to get a large green screen until fairly late into production. So we had to sort of make do with the woods we had ( like most fan films haha )
Happy New Year to you and yours! Again thank you for your kind words about the film! I'm glad you liked it!
Good job everybody!
I loved it. Neat little story thrown into the universe we all love.
You guys succeeded in making a pretty bad ass Jedi too!
Thank you very much for checking out our film! Knowing that you enjoyed it, particularly our Jedi is really rewarding to hear! Because its always hard to make an original character stand up to classic Star Wars characters. I'm glad you enjoyed the film my friend, and thanks for telling us!
I'd say it's more enjoyable and true to Star Wars than the sequels but the same could be said about taking a dump so it's not enough of a compliment, great movie really captures the star wars feel/themes. I like it even more than the higher budget fan films, if anything the old school effects and midi soundscape is charming, the prequels and a lot of the older rebellion era video game cutscenes are shot the same way so it's a perfect style for a movie set between both of them.
Thanks my friend! And yeah the better than the Sequels isn't a very high bar haha I really appreciate you taking the time to check out our film and for your kind words, it really means a lot to me!
We don't have a lot of people comment on the old school effects, or the Midi score. Its funny you mentioned the old video games because I purposefully worked a couple pieces of music from my favorites into the score. When the Jedi gets shot down by Vader in the opening I made sure to add the death theme from Rogue Squadron on the N64. And when the Jedi is fighting the AT-ST I made sure to add the music that played during the AT-ST Boss battle in Shadows of the Empire. Thanks again for checking out our film and for commenting! Hearing people enjoyed the film so much is incredibly rewarding!
That was Amazing the force was with this film it brought back Star Wars
Thank you sir! Knowing this felt like Star Wars means the world to me and our whole team! Thanks for watching it!!
This is absolutely amazing! Vader is an absolute beast with that lightsaber and his presence using it. Also the lightsaber duels are well choreographed and incredible. I really like the tragedy element of the main character, his acting, and his inner conflict trying not to give into hatred and the darkside. My only critique would be if you make another one maybe use larger and more detailed models for the ships. There are some that are rather large that you can paint and glue together that would work perfectly for a fan film.
P.s. Etep Wokuian's The Place To Be Reviews sent me.
The Empire greets you, thank you for taking the time to check out our film and for your kind words! I was on a livestream with Etep a couple years ago when we were in early to mid production on this film. So I'm glad he's seen it, and I'm grateful he has recommended it!
Thank you for your compliments on not only the saber work, but the overall presence in our depiction of Vader. David Prowse is a touch act to follow for sure! But I tried to balance his body language with Hayden Christensen's to hopefully give a feeling of an angry young Vader. And I'm glad you liked it!
Thanks for also mentioning our Jedi Master, my friend worked VERY hard on his performance, and learning all the saber choreography. So its great to see his performance appreciated!
I do wish we could have had bigger models with LED lights for a sense of scale. Honestly most of what we used were toys. We had to just try and make the best with what we had haha I actually have some Computer Animation software at my disposal now, so for future projects our Starships will look much better.

Knowing you enjoyed it so much really means a lot to me, because it took so long to finish I was hoping the film wouldn't be a let down. And I'm glad the writing for Vader felt good, we were REALLY hoping long time viewers of the channel wouldn't just see the funny "Dad Vader" every time I was on screen.

Home from a lousy day at work, and this makes is so so soooo much better! Very much well done, it's how Star Wars should always be!! 💖💖💖
I'm sorry you had a rotten day, but I'm glad our film was able to brighten lift your spirits a bit! I'm glad you enjoyed it! We put a lot of hard work into it over the past three years!
I love this so much! For one you got Vader’s speed in combat right! He’s not a huge lumbering creature and can actually swing his lightsaber very fast and powerfully. Also I love the bit with Vader toying with the Jedi using vices and sounds to mess with him! Awesome way to showcase how Vader can get in your head! Also also, I love this origin story. For a lower budget film, it was constructed and written well!
Thank you very much, it really means a lot to me and our team that you enjoyed our film. I appreciate your comments on Vader's fighting style, I tried to blend Empire Strikes Back Vader with Hayden Christensen's style from Episode III. So that way we would see a fast, but powerful duel kinda blending the OG and Prequel fighting forms.
Also not many people comment on Vader toying with the Jedi! I'm glad you liked that part. We've always heard fear is a Sith's ally, but we've never actually seen a Sith using the Force to mess with someone's mind before.
Well done.
Thank you sir! I'm glad you enjoyed the film, we put a lot of heart and passion into it!

@@kylekullin2520 Thank you my friend, we hope people will enjoy it. It's going to be much shorter than this film. But I think we managed to capture the feeling of Next Generation pretty well.
3 minutes in and this is already a more faithful and better looking film then the new trilogy. Disney needs to give you the money so we can have a proper movie again. Just give you creative control and let you direct and I know it will be a hit.
Thank you sir, we were trying to be as true to George Lucas' vision of Star Wars as we could. While still blending a bit of a samurai tragedy into the storyline. We wanted to see if we could blend the feeling of the Original and Prequel Trilogies together in this movie.
That was some high praise indeed, and we really appreciate the positive feedback! It would be a lot of fun to make a big budget Star Wars film for sure!
I thought I heard a little bit of Jabba the Hutt's theme in the forest while the bounty hunters were escorting Zaar to the Imperials!
The Empire greets you sir! What you were hearing was the Tuba, John Williams used the Tuba heavily for Jabba's theme. While the tune isn't exactly the same, we tried to write something very similar to give it a proper Bounty Hunter vibe!
Did Darth vader get a lot shorter ????
The Jedi I'm fighting is just tall like Qui Gon
@38:05... OMFG people!!! I love the way the dark side of the force has been shown to be more powerful! Absolutely creepy, how he looks and the things he's doing. Wow. This is, dare I say, genuinely a labor of love. Be proud of what you created.
Fan since '77
Thank you once again! No one else has commented on Vader's use of the dark side to cloud Vong-Zaar's mind with fear in this scene. This was one of my favorite scenes to film building the tension before we resumed the duel. Knowing we made a film a long time Star Wars fan enjoyed is a great feeling. Thank you again for the positivity, and we're so happy you liked the film!
A theatre-worthy story. The character insights, writing, and direction put the Disney Sequels to shame. The visual effects were reminiscent of the OT. I REALLY admire the manner in which Darth Vader was written, acted, and directed. The character was understood. Fully. And brought to life. The end sequence with the Emperor and Darth Vader was flat-out INSIGHTFUL.
I feel for that poor Umbaran!!!!!!
Thanks to the actors and production team for providing me with thought-provoking entertainment.
Comments like yours really mean a lot to me and our whole crew! Thank you very much for your kind words, I'm glad you enjoyed the film! We were really trying for the original trilogy vibe with the vfx. We used models instead of cgi, and I tried to make the sabers and blaster bolts look airbrushed like classic cell animation.
Your comments on our depiction of Vader is especially gratifying! I tried to capture a mixture of David Prowse and Hayden Christensen in my performance. So the two characters would feel more connected.
@@VaderReviews You and your team succeeded in channeling the Prowse/Christiansen performance. Your Vader was imposing like Prowse, yet had the dexterity and dialogue of Christiansen in the Obi-Wan series. If you are considering a “Sequel” to your Vader fan film, a “training montage” where Vader learns to “fight like Darth Vader rather than Anakin Skywalker” is something I don’t think anyone has done before. You could make fans lose their collective minds by making Darth Malgus be resurrected (revived?) as Vader’s mentor/trainer - AND END FIGHT!!!!! Malgus’ resurrection would be a great story in itself - is he the actual Sith Lord, or a creation of Palpatine’s sorcery?
One of the things about Star Wars that newer fans don’t realize is that in 1977, we knew nothing of Sith Lords or Palpatine. Force powers were barely portrayed on screen in ANH, and Darth Vader was merely the villain. He had a laser sword, cool armor, and could choke people with his mind. Obi-Wan’s disappearing act left lots of questions. Seven year old me thought Vader was the main bad guy. ESB gradually expanded Force powers to include telekinesis (beyond choking people). And we learned about The Emperor and Force Lightning in ROTJ. The Prequels REALLY showcased what Jedi can do. Getting post-Mustafar Vader to meet and exceed Anakin’s prowess, again, would be my suggestion for a fan film Sequel.
@@AgentM79 I'm really glad I was able to achieve what I was going for with how Vader was portrayed in the film. It makes all the long hours sweating in that armor worth it haha
As for potential sequels for the fan film, we did have a couple ideas, but I don't know if we'll ever get around to them. What you suggested sounded pretty cool though! I don't know a whole lot about Darth Malgus I must confess, but from what I've seen of him on the movie clips from the Knights of the Old Republic games he seems like a really interesting character.
It would be really cool to incorporate more EU characters into future fan film projects if we ever can get around to them. I really wish Disney would have included more classic lore from the old days into the newer films and shows.
Man. that dude does a great Bruce Campbell impression, maybe even Starkiller himself. This was an excellent fan film, great acting and wonderful costumes. The dialogue was very good as well. Great job!

@@VaderReviews It is obvious y'all are as passionate for Star Wars as I am and that is a great thing. It is a shame that Lucasfilm has been dropping the ball so badly since the Disney acquisition. Occasionally, they make something great, but with their name and monetary budget they should be able to hit pay dirt everytime without fail. I would love to see a fan film come out that reprises Cara Dune from The Mandalorian and they actually get Gina Carano to reprise her pivotal role just to stick it to Kathleen Kennedy for firing her from the show like she did. If I had the credits, that would be my goal to achieve. Anyway, keep up the great work and I hope to see another fan film from you someday...
Every time I watch this i see the fanfilm in it. But then again there are so many great moments in this, that i almost refuse to call it that.

From everyone here on the film making team, thank you! I'm really happy you liked the film. We worked tirelessly on it for three years straight. So seeing people appreciate it is a great feeling!
Better than any Disney Star Wars. If you had their budget, it would be epic. Imagine what the sequels could have been, instead of the garbage we got…
The Empire thanks you! I'm glad you enjoyed the film, we worked tirelessly for three years on this project. Filming on weekends to try to get this out for Star Wars fans.
A most excellent Fan Film of Star Wars. I thought the music and Tie Fighters were a bit cheesy but i kept watching. Not a bad film at all. Great story and the main dual, ok, it seriously rocked. Also, Darth's voice, dead on and the way the actor moved and portrayed Darth Vader...in my opinion, better than the originals.
I'm glad you enjoyed the film! All we had to work with for the TIE Fighters were old Kenner toys filmed in front of green poster board. It's hard to try and write orchestral music with midi samples that can hold up to John Williams but I did the best I could.
I'm glad you enjoyed the duel, and my portrayal of Vader, I spent a long time trying to blend the movements and fighting style of Vader with Anakin from Episode III. For the voice I listened to hours of interviews with James Earl Jones to try and get his cadence, and how he pronounces things down as best I could. I worked on this film for three years, so it's nice to know people enjoy it!
The more times I watch this the more I like it. I actually appreciate the Palpatine actor. His voice is softer than the originals which makes him more apealing and that much more seductive. I've not enjoyed many fan films I really enjoy coming back to. Cant say enough about this movie.
The Empire greets you! I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed the film. And its also nice to hear the compliments on our Palpatine actor, Ian Mcdairmid is a TOUGH act to follow for sure! Thank you for your kind words, and for taking the time to watch our film!
@@VaderReviews yea absolutely in some ways i like em more than Ian Mcdiarmids version in how he captures the evil manipulative nature of what could seem like a sweet old man It's really easy to kind of get pulled in and see why Vader would trust him so much despite everything it's kinda scary lol. Ya idk i really feel like you all just get star wars imagine what you could do with a million dollar plus budget
@@insidemyhead22 Very high praise indeed thank you! I'll make sure our Director sees this, because he played Palpatine. It's always a great feeling to know your work is appreciated!! We really were trying to capture the feeling of an abusive, manipulator by having Palpatine hurt Vader one moment, then seem like his caring Grandfather the next. Making Vader feel like it's his fault Palpatine hurt him, and like he deserved it.
And thank you, that really means a LOT to us! We do love Star Wars and the world George Lucas created. And I'm glad it shows in our work. Having a budget for the film would have been incredible! We cobled this film together completely out of pocket, saving up for costumes ( and dipping into savings I probably should have left alone ) the one place we had support was replacing our Vader suit after we destroyed the first one filming the duel in the woods.
We were filming in 98 degree temperatures at times, so between the wear and tear of extreme physical activity, and the gallons of sweat from the heat, mynfirst Vader suit began breaking down and ripping apart. We had to film some parts of the fight with the suit heavily damaged and just shoot close ups so you couldn't see how messed up the lower half of the suit got.
@@VaderReviews oh yea that's awesome that was your intention the Palpatine actor definitely hit the mark on what you were trying to portray in my opinion. Absolutely golden.
It's great that you made it all work so well though and finish strong anyways despite setbacks! I beleive it's just something that's part of the journey.
There's a great story I heard from the director of Empire strikes back when C3po's electronics werent working in the scene where he was in pieces on Chewy's back and they had just spent 100 grand to get his arms to flail. And what they did instead was they used fishing wire from a far and moved his arms that way. And what he said was "Improvisation, you can't be thrown by these things, you have to assume you can make it work". I loved that quote.
And whatever you all had come up whatever you had to work with you made it happen. Thank you again for all you do. And thank you for your communication with the fans, it's an honor to get to chat with you. I'd love to see another movie and many more! May the force be with you!

This feels like it could easily be an EU story line. Very well done.
That makes me VERY happy to hear!! Thank you my friend, we were hoping this film would have a classic EU feel to it! Thank you for taking the time to watch it!
What's amazing to me is that you truly put the heart and soul of what Star wars is about, a fight of good against evil, no cutesy druids or silly Gungans, but desperate actions of survival. Disney failed, where you succeeded. After close to fifty years of reading Star Wars novels and graphic novels, I always wanted a story on film that depicted this desperate fight. The only true movie that came close to that heart from Disney was Rogue One. I would like to see Luke Skywalker's Jedi Academy, and his search for Jedi traditions. Make the lie to what Kathlee M Kennedy did to the Jedi, destroying the Jedi in three movies, she truly is Sith and an idiot.
Thank you very much for not only taking the time to watch the film, but also for your comment as well! Knowing we've made long time Star Wars fans like you happy with our film really means the world to me and our entire team. More than anything we wanted to give long time fans a story they could truly enjoy that reflected the tone of George Lucas's films, and the classic EU novels.

The advisor kinda looks like a Yuuzhan Vong
Thank you! We were really trying to give the Arbiter a classic Star Wars EU vibe. So I'm glad he had that kind of look, fun fact the name of the main Jedi "Vong-Zaar" was a subtle reference to the Yuuzhan Vong.

really good chorography!! how did you edit the lightsaber fx?? I'm assuming u used the saber plugin from after effects?
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the duel!
For the lightsaber effects I used Hitfilm it was a free software at the time. Unfortunately they charge for it now.
But basically I used a Lightsaber preset effect, I heavily feathered the white center of the blade and used two colors for the glow. A really light blue for the inner glow next to the blade, and a darker blue for the outer glow of the blade.
I added an auto lens flare to the saber for some extra character, then I put a blur effect over the entire blade to give it a more classic air brushed look.
I took screen grabs of Vader and Luke's Bespin duel so I could match the blur, and colors of the lightsabers as closely as possible.
Sorry for the lengthy explanation, but I figured if I walked you through the process I used, even if the tools aren't the same in after effects, you still might be able to get similar results using what ever effects tools you have available.
@@VaderReviews awesome thanks for the explanation!! I appreciate it a lot! I’ve done some lightsaber fx before and I wanted to hear how you did it, thanks for explaining!!

Who is the character at minute 57:00? Fantastic fan made!

Thank you very much, I'm glad you enjoyed our film! The character you mentioned was an original character we came up with called "The Arbiter"
We based him on the Emperor's attendants from Return of the Jedi. But we also wanted to give him a special purpose in the story.
So we decided to give him the healing ability, so Palpatine could use him to get Vader back on his feet since this is early in his career as Vader. And Anakin is still suffering a lot from his ordeal on Mustafar.

@@VaderReviews Man I can tell you trained hard! I loved seeing the Kenjutsu forms you implemented as well. Keep it up! I loved the 70s feel of the film as well. So good, I know George would appreciate this!
@@thorgeist That means a lot to me! I do wish there was some way George Lucas could see our film. And we really tried to mix in some Samurai techniques into our lightsaber duel.
Thank you for making this amazing film! I can't even imagine how much work it must've taken to put this together!
The Empire thanks you for watching our film! I'm very happy you enjoyed it, we spent three long years working on this so its a great feeling knowing Star Wars fan's like you liked the film!
