Bruh, I can't play NBA Live after playing 2k, the gameplay on 2k is on another level, I feel so free with it, it's weird because I don't recall seeing the same animation twice, like ever... while with Live playing for a while the gameplay becomes very repetative with being able to dunk almost anytime you get close to the rim and having the same animation for alot of things with being able to shoot perfect and never miss with a sharpshooter and so on, I can go on for days.
I think 2k has the rights to Mitchell and Ness. The only throwbacks live and possibly only do are retro jerseys they currently make or the jerseys when some NBA teams were sponsored by Nike back in the late 90 early 2000.
If franchise mode was better and few immersion things fixed... it would be a perfect basketball thing. Add better physics+injuries. Franchise mode needs depth added. That being said... Graphics, fun factor (crossovers, dunks, layups), The One, replayability, roster accuracy totally crush 2k19.
Go play the Madden franchise mode once, made by the same company, and then try to keep getting your hopes up. It's not going to get any better .. and 2k19 isn't even out yet, how do you know it "Crushes" 2k19?

I've played each game over past 3 seasons and each year has gotten better than the last. This one is best yet. Best pick and roll game! I actually use the advanced moves in this, very intuitive.

I decided to pick up a bball game this year, haven't played one since 09. So I tried both 2k19 n live 19 demos, I liked live 19 way more, had more fun with it, I had more control of the player, the graphics and animations were on point. Can't wait to continue in my player mode. Kudos EA

You can trade for picks and blah blah. Each new season has interesting off seasons. To me that was the funnest part. Is there anything like this in nba live? Also in 2k you can do a draft with your friends and play a season. Do they have that?

Does anyone notice that if you hold B or circle on offense in NBA live 19 the defender runs away almost 90% of the time, allowing for a wide open jump shot? Holding B is there so you can hand off to your teammate, but the defender leaves in the process. It takes away from the game because you score almost automatically when doing this
I'm done with 2k. It's too complicated and difficult. Started the career mod and struggled to get 6pts. Easy layups and dunks even seemed challenging. Hope the control are more practical here.
Found a sweet spot with my sliders on all star to keep games tight they just need to add more urgency late in close games I was 5 points up with 20 seconds left and the opposing team dribbled out the clock. If they iron out the bugs and get arena specific music i'm all set for the year.
It's not the same engine as madden. Madden is running on frostbite, NBA Live is not running the frostbite engine but rather a different engine with real player motion
I played this game when it came out yesterday... Its pretty easy. The blowby is impossible, defenders magically stop you even if you're a step ahead, blocking mechanics are weird. I counted, and in my second game in, i was blocked about 9 times when driving to the rim. Dunking is to frequent. The animations are stiff, and not as fluid as it could be. Overall, its solid, but it doesn't have personality (post game interviews, cutscenes, etc.)
Not getting anything from EA this year. Tired of no changes to both Pro Clubs and Career Mode in FIFA 19 as they don't listen to the player base. Sticking with 2k this year and fingers crossed for 2k19...

One thing they deff need to fix is action under the rim, make it more realistic. Not everybody is going to dunk the ball right under the rim. Also the layups... is like everything you take up to the rim goes in and it shouldn’t be like that. Furthermore the Franchise mode should be deep like 2k, even if they add WNBA franchise that would be dope too. 2k has a strategy for how/why they sell their products like the storylines. The storylines are kind of dope and if EA was to find a way to create their identity or strategy then it should be just fine.

Not normally a fan of EA's graphics in their sports games or just generally, but I must say their player models for NBA Live are pretty impressive.
