Thieves do this because the law does absolutely nothing to thieves. So, the thieves feel they can do anything and get away with it even if when caught.
i have been in 3rd world countries, and thieves there will get community asswhooping, even a chicken thief.
its not about them getting away, its they wont get caught. the police dont do their job right and they know it. this idea that anyone can commit a crime and get away comes from idiots who dont know what they are talking about.

@@ricosuave3565 what if security shoots the cars? Bullets go through people. The criminals aren't going to care where the bullets hit. A gun fight could wind up resulting in tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages if cars are getting shot up at a dealership.

This is what has happened due to defunding police, reducing sentencing, and no cash bail reforms. It's only going to get worse and people keep voting in politicians who do this to us.

I had a friend whose family had a dealership. The town wouldn't let them fence it all in for aesthetics (all dealerships and industrial area), so they'd block entrances with older used cars or trucks. I remember one time they caught a guy at night with his car backed up to a Malibu that had been jimmied open, it had a boxed set of wire wheel covers in the trunk of the perp's car. But the police said they couldn't prove they were from their car, as they don't have ID numbers on them.

Their security manager should be fired and the dealership should hire professional to help improve security measures to stop and prevent thieves from stealing cars. A 30 dollar AirTag can easily track stolen cars.

There is a very simple way to prevent the cars from being stolen and dealers know this but they make more money from the insurance from the theft then selling the cars..
Install electrified fencing.
I monitor the security cameras over night at 2 Chicago dealerships. One had 8 cars stolen last night!!! I think it’s an inside job tho. Off they wanted to stop them, they would remove a spark plug or put a boot on all the cars. But they don’t. They rather be mad cuz it took us 90 seconds to call dispatch cuz we had to watch the car pull in to make sure it was thieves instead of some lost idiot making a u-turn. Making sure someone doesn’t run off with a 70-120k car isn’t worth their time i guess.
Hope they get caught and receive life sentences in jail. No bail
