Little story.. My first cousin and I are very close, she's a Phd student and I, an autodidact who loves to learn. She has this uncanny ability to learn with arbitrary noises/ sounds around her and I'm the polar opposite - hypersensitive to sound.. We sit in the same room everyday, while she does her work and I learn whatever I'm learning at the moment. I decided to switch to official ear muffs as an alternative to the soft ear plugs I've been using after my ears started hurting from prolonged use. While researching these headphones I found your video and I must say that even though it's been three years since it's been posted, I'm delighted to know that someone else thought this was a good idea lol.
I just got me some of these and they are awesome.....They are quite comfortable and great at lessoning the noise around you. Totally worth it. Good recommendation.

Happy to see to meditate.. I too had the same problems and bought a yato 1463 ear muff for meditation.. I suggest you read the book called 'Raja Yoga' by Swami Vivekananda... You should read it, if you have not read it already...
What ear protection is the best to cancel out noise from people speaking? People I live with are extremely loud and I can never get any work done. Ive tried wearing two ear plugs, one inside my ear and one of these over that. Nothing really works.
@Amardeep Grewal Ask the hardware store or big box store for the best hearing protection for using chainsaws, they should recommend something sufficient.
This video is helpful, how does it work with upstairs nieghbours who run around making thumping noises, talk loud, basically lack civic sense, which is causing me healthy issues, plus taking to them every time they disturb is causing some friction, other part is constant traffic, dog barking, planning to move to quieter area, but yea till then I,am stuck here and what would your recommendations be for such situation, in terms of wearing it more than 8-10 hours without having to have ear ace
I appreciate your video, and I 100% relate to you. Have you by any chance used the 3M Max Peltor X5A headphones that are supposed to reduce noise by 31dbs? Or any of their other products? And how do they compare? Also, how does the noise reduction of these compare to foam ear plugs? I'd appreciate any feedback, I'm struggling so hard right now to sleep, my neighbors make so much noise at night, I can't live like this.
Is it good for studying?Because my neighbours are always shouting and making noise all the time..their baby always shouts so much..will that able to cancel it?
I have one too I use it for sleep, I have a pretty ignorant neighbor that lets his dogs barking often, even at night time. I'm hoping to see 3M and other brands to push the technology further and come up with new models of 35 Db or more with the same or better comfort I would buy it straight away.
You could probably get gun ear protection for a little cheaper than these, but these are probably way more comfortable than gun ear protection because these are meant to be worn for long periods of time. Another good video, Will.
i bought these earmuffs at the local store. and you can hear people talk and you can hear it when someone is tapping the table aswell. you wont go completely deaf.
I got these today based on this video. They work really well at blocking out sound just like you describe. The problem for me is that they clamp down quite hard and I hear my own heartbeat which are 2 other distracting sensations for me. Do you get used to that after a while? I bought them for studying.
I got the exact same problem hearing my heart beat Apparently it is called autophony It’s because the external noises get blocked out that much that you can now hear noises from inside your body You heart pumps blood through your ear canal so there is no avoiding it I bought mine for meditation and all I can hear is the thudding in my ears of my pulse beating All I can say is I have an excellent pair of safety headphones now I could never use them for meditation

Revolutionary Lifestyle Design So I just tested out a pair of Stanley noise cancelling ear muffs that a normally use for lawn mowing and I can actually hear every Damn heart beat of mine as if wearing a stethoscope. The 3M ones you show in your video look to have more padding than these Stanley's...Do you have that same problem with your 3M pair where you literally hear your heart beating?
Revolutionary Lifestyle Design btw I just grabbed the earmuffs I already use for mowing lol...I'll get the 3M ones if they don't cause me to have the distracting sound of hearing my own heart beat while I'm trying to focus. I had the same noise problem as you when I was in Asia...I got a Marpac Sleepmate noise machine which just makes white noise to cancel out unwanted background noise. It's like $50 and mine is still going strong after 10 years of daily use. I used the noise machine and earplugs when I slept and it helped tremendously.
You could stop their loud chattering by farting by them often. They will move far away from you any chance they have and then be talking softly, having lowered their voices, as they complain about you behind your back.
I am from Asia and hate the unnecessary noise pollution. I don't understand why people are so dumb. anyways, I am looking for a headphone to study. Do you recommend these headphones? can they be used for hours for study without headaches?
Thanks for your recommendation Will. I "will" (haha) purchase through your affiliate link once I figure out where to ship them to. Haven't used Amazon in Asia before
+Cameron Chardukian thanks Cameron, but if you're in asia I'd buy them from Lazada, you'll pay more but save overall because Amazon shipping is terrible to asia
i've got neighbors talking and laughing under my window as well as their dog barking--once in awhile the laughter is shrill and this can go on 8 hours--does anyone know if these (or others?) would block out that?
@@RevolutionaryLifestyleDesign i just did--good tips! but most meaningfully--thanks for the sympathy...I can't afford to move so I'm thinking of the earmuffs and noisy neighbor discussion groups--if they are findable😕
You need to layer noise blocking remedies. Get the noise cancelling window curtains and place tapestries on the exterior facing walls. Look into a white noise sound machine for inside your place too, it will help cover exterior noise. Thick carpet if the noise is from below. Those things will make noise cancelling headphones more effective. Do not forget to try having a conversation with your neighbors- tell them a little about the private details you heard them say and they should start to be quite once they know you can make out their private conversations.
@@Skitdora2010 thanks for that! I'm curious--do you know of specific curtains that are effective? also, re the "conversation": the biggest noise makers are two women in two separate condos living in the building next door--judging by their personalities--they are shameless (plus they already know I can hear them and their "music" and their dogs and their friends) I really think they are the kind who'd have no problem doing absolutely anything in front of anyone..no shame...but it's a good idea (for more reasonable people--i know that would certainly shut me up, for example) and I'd welcome more ideas if you have them..
@@Skitdora2010i certainly agree with the point about private details. I did visit my noisy neighbours one day and casually said i knew where they hid the bodies. Strangest thing, they moved out the month after and its been peaceful ever since.
Definitely work with glasses, still prob the best thing I've bought in the last few years, dollar for dollar. I use then now every time I'm writing an article, even if there is not a lot of noise
Ayush Pandey I actually still have and use these, believe it or not! This was a great product to buy. I found that sometimes I would need to adjust my glasses so the legs would be sitting on top of the ear muffs to give the side of my head a break from the pressure of the glasses and muffs, but that would quickly go resolve and I could still work throughout it. It does muffle out sound really well (I’ve even brought them to my classes when I’ve had tests so that I could concentrate better). I highly recommend getting this product. Let me know if you have any more questions!
