This video doesn't actually show the difference between the S trap and P trap. If a P trap is installed without venting, then it's really just a larger S trap. The reason for using a P trap is that the horizontal pipe can go through the wall and into a tee that goes both down to the main drain line and up to a roof vent. The S trap is banned because without venting, sewer gasses are more likely to enter the house. A flush of a toilet elsewhere in the house may create low pressure in the main drain that sucks the water out of the S, breaking the standing water seal. With a vented P trap this doesn't occur.
Namaste, Good Day, At present I am using *P type English commode.* having its concealed water-outlet and flushing device within the walls.. Can I replace it with a *Anglo Indian commode* using the same concealed water-outlet and flushing device.
S trap is mostly used in double story houses whereas P trap is installed in single story houses. P trap will most likely have a septic tank in your bankyard connecting it directing to your toilet. S trap will connect toilets disposal pipe to a town or city councils sewer main.
What a good explanation with images thank you for your video
Well explained with drawing and photos. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
