Back to interrogative pronouns. As we said, these simply are pronouns we use to ask questions. The word interrogative comes from the word “interrogate” (verb). A simple definition of “interrogate” is “to ask questions”.
There are five pronouns we use to ask questions; these are our five interrogative pronouns! They are:
What
Which
Who
Whom
& Whose
Our first interrogative pronoun is the word “what”. We use “what” when we are asking for general information about people, animals, or things. Some examples include:
What did you say?
What is that?
Our second interrogative pronoun is “which”. We use “which” when we are asking questions where we have a limited amount of choices. Some examples are:
Which one is your favorite?
Which movie do you want to see?
Next up we have “who”. We use “who” when we are asking a question about the subject of the sentence, or in other words, who the sentence is about. This is usually used when asking about a person and a name. Examples can be:
Who are you?
Who said that?
Our second last interrogative pronoun is “whom”. We use it in a similar way as “who”, except “whom” is used when we are talking about the object of a verb or preposition. Some examples are:
Whom will you send for?
Whom have you told about this?
Our final interrogative pronoun is the word “whose”. We use “whose” when asking questions relating to possession. Examples include:
Whose cat is this?
Whose phone is that?
Let’s have a look at our questions again. Can you answer them now? Look in the description to find the answers!

What are Possessive Pronouns?
Possessive pronouns are pronouns we use to say who owns it. You can get this effect by adding an -s to a pronoun.
Example: This book is (theirs, yours, mine, his, hers, ours).
Note that the possessive pronoun is found at the end of the sentence because it is the object of the sentence. These are not to be confused with possessive adjectives which are placed infront of the object.
Example: This is (my, your, his, her) book.
I hope this answer is useful to you.
