    When I was in high school, I used all of my electives to take art classes. I was obsessed. It was my dream.
    I don’t know what happened, but right before I went to college, I lost my love of art. It’s been about 5-6 years since I’ve created anything, but your videos are bringing back my passion.
    Not only do I feel inspired to create, I also feel encouraged that it’s not too late to pursue this dream.
    So, thank you. You are having a huge impact on people, whether you realize it or not.

      That is amazing man.. even if it means just picking up a pencil again to start drawing. you inspire me man with words like that!

    I agree 100%. That initial searching sketch to find the form and pose is crucial. So many artists coming up seem to have this misconception that artists start with clean line drawing straight from the white of the page. Then they get frustrated when they spend hours on a piece only to find their proportions are way off. Then when you try to explain it and teach them they blow that info off and think you are trying to teach them methods that are beneath them. Thank you for showing and pointing this out.

    So glad you’re honest about how scary the beginning parts are. That’s honestly what keeps me from finishing a lot of works. It’s so unclear to me at the beginning that I have no idea where I want to go or even if I can get there. Lighting is a lifesaver. Gotta remember that.

    • @DaveGreco

      Totally! I feel like if I could just power through the beginning stages then I can get to somwhere I am comfortable with.

    watching this made me realise how many rules i set up for myself, trying to learn how to paint. after drawing for most of my life i only recently decided I want to go into game art and start learning how to paint. i am also a 5 or more sketches kind of person and watching this made realise... thats ok! because we live in the digital age i dont have to work on just one layer either!
    anyways, wha im trying to say is, thanks so much for this video, had me have a galaxy brain moment

    It's so motivating to see you comment so much about the flat face part, it looked incredible as is but the fact you kept pushing yourself shows that even the best artist need to keep going. It gives small artist like me inspiration to keep working on a certain piece ☺️

    I fell in love with DG_Main!!! i use just that brush as my primary brush in almost my every digital work. ( I use your brushes as default in my every single work and DG main is my favorite too.) Your channel provides motivation and it helped me to get back to Photoshop and learn more and more and experiment with it.I just love the flow of your work, from very rough scribbles to final illustration! i follow this too and it helps me a lot when i'm finding trouble in getting ideas for work.Thank you sir for everything. Hope to see your other Time-Lapse videos soon.

    Hi dave ! Love your video ! The painting turned out so cool :D ! I wanted to ask you a question that might give you an idea for a video maybe : how would you exercize your stylisation ? Doing studies, specific exercizes,... ? I know you recently made a video about this subject but going a bit more in depth would be very interesting. I'm currently learning the fundamentals and I find myself painting mainly in a realistic way that I'd like to stylise quite a bit and I'm really asking myself for the right approach to do this.

    Would be really glad about some information on your process using layers... they always confuse me. Some artists paint half their image on one layer, some are being incredibly strategic and it’s hard to find an own way of layering that feels natural.

    • @Beriaru
      @Beriaru 5 років тому +1

      He once said in a video that he doesn’t really think about his layering

    • @DaveGreco
      @DaveGreco  5 років тому

      That is true. I am pretty hap hazard with my layering.. it really depends on the piece and what the client wants with it. For my own personal work.. I make alot of layers that are pretty much nonsense, I am just used to making them.. but I end up flattening it all down.

      Np and thanks for checking out the channel! I think you can absolutely specialize in what you want to draw. I know some concept artists who mainly focus on enviornments.. or just characters. Some teams will expect you to tackle alot of different subjects as part of the job.. but I think painting what you love will really come across in your portfolio.
