You knew his dedication by knowing that he made Kalki 2898 AD as the sequel to Mahabharata, and he's giving a redemption arc to Ashwatthama because he got his curse because he fired the Brahmāstra towards the womb of Uttarā, and now he got his resurrection by saving an unborn child, I'm not exaggerating but this might be one of the greatest redemption arc after, Loki, Vegeta, Mushashi Miyamoto, Thorfinn, Gintoki and Arthur Morgan 🗿.

I'm honestly loving this new era of Indian movies. Even though Brahmāstra had a terrible script, it tapped into the untouched treasure of our very own mythologcal texts, and for that reason I'm thankful to it. We have such rich collections of mythology and local legends and yet there were little to no focus on them. But the recent developments are so refreshing to watch. Similarly horror genre is also tapping into our local legends. Movies like Tumbbad are shedding light to our local myths and legends and honestly I'm so here for it. Personally I'm really excited for Kalki and I have high hopes for it. Crossed fingers! 🤞🏻

I love that filmmakers are now turning towards scriptures for movie idea. These stories convey deep philosophical and moral lesson in such beautifully constructed plots. I also hope they are not just good vs evil plot, the scriptures show the more complex side of human nature and I really hope they incorporate that along with everything else.
It's not new for Tollywood though. They have been making films of this genre for so long. Ever since Mayabazaar.

Ashwatthama wouldn't just live till end of Kalyug but also live till next Dwapar because his current duty is to advise Kalki avtaar and to complie the knowledge of Vedas and become the next Ved Vyas essentially. And he got a curse because he released a Brahmastra towards Uttara's womb who is the wife of Abhimanyu carrying his child. So Krishna ji gave him this curse because he also killed all the sons of Pandavas on the night of the last day of the war once it was over

He is born with urja / aura of Vishnu Paramathman, which Rama collects later on in Ramayana. Originally only 2 avatars are there, Satya Yuga did not need an avatar, Treta needed Rama, Dwapara needed Krishna, Kaliyuga will need another avatar, but its actually never specified who. Kalki Purana, Shaiva Purana, Shakti Purana are NOT at the same level as Vedas, Ramayana, Mahabharata & Gita
But wait, what about the Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, and Brahmin avatar? Are they not mentioned in the original texts? Also according to some legends, Buddha was also an avatar of Lord Vishnu.

I think the movie would start with Aswathamma without his divine gem. The mythology says that Drona performed many years of severe penance to please Shiva to obtain a son who possessed the same valiance as Shiva. So, maybe it is the place where he was praying in the trailer is his birthplace. The place where he would find his gem and the purpose of his further life (saving Deepika).
Also, he was with a boy in that cave. Maybe the boy could be Parshuram (or other Chiranjeevi) you were talking about who would indirectly guide him.
I wanted to be excited about this movie, but the first trailer scared me as Prabhas was a little cartoonish. I mean, how SRK was shown in Pathaan when he was around Deepika. I don't want him to be unnecessarily funny. Do you know what I mean? It just gives me vibes of the dialogues of Bramhastra, as you know.
