Imagine living in your little old bungalow for years. Land all around you. Peace and quiet. Family memories. Then all of a sudden streets are being built around you. Big five story building built around your home. I understand why she turned down the money. No money can beat the feeling her home brought her. That’s how I feel about my childhood home:(
Yes, but it's also not healthy if you cannot move on and cope with change. Otherwise you become as grumpy as this woman isolated from society. It would suck if my childhood home got dozed, but i'd rather take the 1 million and makes new memories somewhere else in a bigass mansion
@@Sevival she’s a very old woman with cancer and with no family left. She made the most logical choice. That million dollars wasn’t going to do anything for her

Such a sad ending to a happy story. I would have loved to sit in her Midcentury living room!
Let’s be honest, if she was younger like in her 20’s she’d take the money and live her best life.
She wanted to live in honor of her mother in the house she stayed with until she died.
You think differently if you're in your 80ties and having enough money to live. You don't need a million dollar, for what? It seems like that she didn't have children nor a sibling. She just wanted to stay there till she dies.

Everyone is entitle to live and if you have house and love it and want only this house where you in and living happy, why I need new house where I wont feel happy as it is not the one what I was in? 1 million not gave happy feeling in new house as it is completely different. I totally agree with this old lady and hope that she see from heaven that she is not the only one who think same . 😊

Gee, I wonder how much more money she could have given to charity if she had taken the 1 million instead of giving her home to charity just to spite the people trying to do something like develop her block that would improve the economy, provide jobs, etc... They didn't try to steal her home or anything, they were doing it fair and square and offering her money. What's so wrong with that?
