After a pleasant day on Thursday, the last couple of days have been miserable with rather chilly temperatures, rain on and off and not a glimpse of the sun. The UK at the time of the year is often a thoroughly miserable place but at least the end is in sight of the meteorological winter. Roll on spring!

Its the split now happening over the pole that has shifted the models more cold a time lag maybe but not nailed on but probable
Many cold periods have happened in Feb/March in the past.

I remember minus 4 with heavy snow in April just around 6 years ago then hot summer happened immediately after with no spring at all.
