- Michael Gove and Katy Balls are joined by Patrick Maguire and Gabriel Pogrund to discuss their new book, Get In: The Inside Story of Labour Under Starmer.
It’s the second in their tell-all series of books on the Labour Party’s ups and downs and has caused quite a stir in Westminster. From the revelations about Keir Starmer’s voice coach causing a fresh lockdown row to Michael Gove’s secret dinner with Morgan McSweeney, there is a high-density of scoops and disclosures. Can Labour blame the failures of their first 100 days on Sue Gray? And is there such a thing as ‘Starmerism’?

Starmer only won because the country became so disgusted by Gove's Conservative party.
True. Very good interview
Utterly squandered a huge majority in Parliament.
There's no way anyone would've voted for someone who believes in unilaterally cow-towing to international law institutions. All Starmer did in opposition was look and sound sanctimonious.
Precisely - As the saying goes: "People didn't vote Labour in, they voted the Tories out".
@@paulpenfold2352Plus he lied and lied and lied again. He cheated, lied and defrauded his way into power.
I'm pretty confident Starmer will be the last Labour Prime Minister.
‘Labour’
@@Gunt-D Worse SNP
@@justintcb5189 Agree. Starmer and Reeves and Miliband have made Labour totally unelectable.
Reform!!!
The only way.
Nope.
Nope
The only way to save our country is to VOTE REFORM 🇬🇧
@@howdan1985 Nope.
Imagine life under the politics of Owen Jones. Are you still tempted to vote for anything on the liberal/left?
Hell No!
Student Grant! If you remember the cartoon character from Viz magazine 😂
@JonniePolyester Student Grant and Millie Tant both alive and flourishing in the Labour environs.
Having left the country because we were sick of the liberal "right", no 🤣
@@LeeMoore-fv3zz 😂👍
According to Peter Hitchens, Starmer is more to the left than Corbyn.
Same but different. Corbyn is a stupid old Marxist, Starmer is a Pabloite entrytist. Evil man.
Why give Gove a job?
I love and respect the UK, but your parliamentary system is utterly dreadful. With a mere 33% of the vote, Starmer and Labour won a five year parliamentary dictatorship that is unassailable. Here in the United States, a much greater check on power is available to the people much more frequently in the form of all US House members facing elections every two years, and a third of US Senators facing election every two years. Additionally, for all of its foibles, our two party system creates more powerful and stable government. I'm sorry that the UK is facing such political turmoil now, and I wish you the best of luck!
It astonishes me anyone would hire Gove.
Indeedy, especially following the previous Editor
This is how far detached the Spectator is from working class people, they employ Gove to front this content. In over 5k views as I write this, less than 200 likes.
Just realised Gove was on the podcast.
Switched it off.
Argh Micheal Gove. Switched off.
People have to understand that Starmer is answerable to Davos and the WEF not to the people of the UK
What politics did Gove ‘practice’ ? Answers on a postcard please.
Locking people down.
@ NEVER forget, his life should be lived in shame.
Putting £500 billion on the national debt for fear of making a difficult decision.
Reform! Starner's life is very complicatrd and he seems to be a somewhat confused individual with no leadership abilities. Since Reeves has holed the economy things are about to get a great deal more difficult for Liebour. We left last year and cd run a relocation b8z as a side gig there are so many people wanting to get out. Strange times.
Grove colluded with Starmer behind Boris' back. Grove is the British Mitch McConnell.
They are opposite sides of the same coin…. They both despise the working class
What a remarkably attractive, erudite speaker Gabriel Pogrund is. A pleasure to listen to.
Nobody here here is paying attention. There was a big plan. Peter Hitchens tried to tell you, but you choose to ignore his warnings.
Please will Spectator arrange elocution lessons for K Balls.
The Fabian prime minister
“There’s no such thing as Starmerism & never will be” the Starmer quote. But there is. Ironically he represents a current type of person who is idealistic & unable to engage credibly.
Awesome. Well said. Spot on. Advice Thomas OVP collapse talks with FPO Austrian party yes Herbert Kicki not Austria Vienna Chancellor. Brilliant content. Rest Austria alright to you Thomas.
Gove did give that speech that sank Corbyn.Nothing else
All politicians are the same….total BoC’s 😞
I posted long ago (2.5 years), that PM Starmer was a great Opposition Leader in Parliament. This environment exploits his prosecutor training. However, I cautioned after his fumbled 5 point governance plan, he could not be a good PM. This is because Starmer lacks instinctive leadership skills.
Now of course, Starmer has been exposed in the Rape Grooming Scandal, as a Prosecutor who selectively applied justice so as to not offend Muslims minorities. Remember, South African Blacks did not vote to be made 2ND Class citizens. I dare say neither will the 5 million Tommy Robinsons living in the area from Birmingham to Liverpool, to Manchester, to Leeds, to Newcastle. PM Starmer will make MP Farage the UK PM!!!
