GREAT REACTION, my friend!!!. Here's a pro-tip, for next time you react to a video by them. Blondie is the band, not the singer. The singer is Debbie Harry. The band is named after a classic newspaper comic strip, and Debbie Harry is usually very blond and captivating, but Blondie is definitely **not** a solo act, nor is Blondie *her* name. Her longtime partner Chris Stein co-wrote almost all of the music, Jimmy Destri was an innovative keyboard stylist, and Clem Burke is one of the maddest drummers in history. People referring to Debbie Harry as "Blondie" and ignoring the fact that they were a fully democratic band full of talented icons and not a solo hot blond chick is one of the main things that led to them breaking up within a decade of forming. (The same thing happened with No Doubt a couple decades later).
That said, I'm really glad you liked this. "Heart of Glass" was their biggest international hit, but Blondie were absolutely huge for a few years, there. Largely filed under New Wave nowadays, they were actually one of the early NYC Punk bands who played in Lower East Side dives like CBGB's and Max's Kansas City in the mid-70s. They had their first hits in Australia and the UK with Retro 60s-style songs like "Denis" (AUS#12, UK#2) and "In the Flesh" (AUS#2).
"Heart of Glass" (1978/US#1, UK#1) was their first major US Hit, and one of a handful of Disco-influenced songs by the band. Check out the Spaghetti Western Disco of "Atomic" (1980/US#39, UK#1) and the Disco Rap of "Rapture" (1981/US#1, UK#5). Blondie were actually the first act to have a Hip-Hop US#1, actually (legitimized with namedrops of Grandmaster Flash and Fab Five Freddy who appeared in the video, alongside legendary Black Artist, Jean Michel Basquiat). They also played with Reggae/Calypso with "The Tide Is High" (1980, US#1, UK#1), Dance Rock with "Call Me" (1980, US#1 for six weeks!!!, UK#1), and Power Pop with "Sunday Girl" (1979, UK#1) and "Dreaming" (1979/US#27, UK#2), but ultimately they were considered New Wave, and they were the biggest selling US New Wave act of the New Wave era (1978-84).

Note the band member at the keyboard is playing an input line. This was an accidental discovery during session. He tripped over the cable to the speaker and they got this sound and the rest is history.

Debbie Harry is a legend. Besides this one, Call Me, One Way or Another, Rapture and The Tide is High are probably the ones that were most popular but she's also a punk legend.

Blondie (the band) started in the NYC punk scene of the late 70s early 80s. They were a very exploratory band. You said you want to see if she can rock? Man, I'm telling you...official video for Detroit 442. You will understand why Heart of Glass is only one small side of this band and why Debbie Harry is a freaking punk goddess!

No, her name is not Blondie, it's Debbie Harry. Blondie is the name of the group.
Her hair is actually dark, she dyed it blond once and some workers on the street or something called at her "Hey, blondie!". They used this to name the band, who's original name was Angel and the Snake.
"Rapture" - that's the one. Take the tour... Debbie Harry, former Playboy Bunny. But far more talent than any bunny, for sure.

Blondie and Debbie Harry never come close to anything this great again. However, their Rapture video is a "You got to see this" video.
One reason we never got anything close to this was, Debbie quit the music business for a while to take care of her sick boy friend Chris Stein who was suffering from pemphigus vulgaris, a rare autoimmune disease of the skin
