Ricardo Bermudez Garcia (born November 19, 1975), known as Ricardinho, is a Brazilian volleyball player. He competed in the 2004 Summer Olympics.
Ricardo is widely considered to be one of the best setters of all time, mainly for his ability to manipulate the opposing teams' blockers and create easy hitting opportunities for his attackers. Along with Brazilian head coach Bernardo Rezende, Ricardo is credited with creating the fast paced offense, including extremely quick back row attacks and fast paced sets to all positions on the court. This offense has been adopted by all major international teams and is consistently used at the highest levels today.
Although Ricardo is widely considered one of the greatest setters, many experts have questioned his 'natural athleticism'. Ricardo was not particularly quick on his feet, and was not able block at a height necessary of stopping opposing attackers. However, due to the skill level of the Brazilian team during Ricardo's career, the team was able to create a defensive strategy in which Ricardo rarely blocked and was able to focus almost solely on setting.
Garcia was born in São Paulo. In 2004, he was part of the Brazilian team which won the gold medal in the Olympic tournament. He played all eight matches.
In 2007 he was dismissed from the team, reportedly because of contention with other team members. He rejoined the team for the 2012 Olympics in London where they won the silver medal.

Brazil 2004-2007 lineup was one of the greates ever in history: Andre Nascimento, Ricardo Garcia, Gustavo Endres, Andre Heller, Giba, Dante Amaral and Sergio Dutra Santos - gods of volleyball.
I always say this team was ahead of time. They played volleyball from 2010s, even 2020s...

Com todo respeito ao Willian e ao Maurício, mas o Ricardinho foi simplesmente Sensacional... Sinto muito que o sucesso tenha subido para sua cabeça e infelizmente o seu técnico na seleção brasileira não foi nada profissional para lidar também com o estrelismo, assim, ambas perderem seus valores e deu no que deu.
Cara, vc pode contar o que aconteceu? Eu sou geração 2000 e nao pude acompanhar essa história
@Caiman Araújo Além disso, houve uma briga entre ele, Giba e Gustavo. O próprio Giba já falou isso. Pelo jeito foi briga séria, porque eles sempre discutiam e terminava tudo bem. Nessa briga de 2007, antes do Pan do Rio, foi diferente.
@@murillogregorio1533 Bernardinho procurou uma desculpa pra colocar o filho na seleção, hoje craque, mas na época cru. Melhor levantador do Mundo, um dos maiores da história, foi cortado do nada.

Galera não fala a real, que foi quando decidiram não repartir o valor recebido pela conquista do Pan com a comissão técnica. O Ricardinho ficou de culpado pela história toda. Daí o Bernardinho era tudo o que queria para colocar o Bruninho no lugar dele...

Para mim o melhor levantador da história DISPARADO, ele acelerava demais o jogo do Brasil deixando outras seleções sem o que fazer! a recepção chegava quebrada que ele consertava para os ponteiros e meias! Brasil não ganhou o OURO EM 2008 e 2012 por BIRRA do Bernadinho!
