Must be hard to have to watch yourself cook an overcooked, zero pink, soon to be sandy dry and not have the time or cash to at least attempt a recook of your ridiculous attempt at a patty melt...sad i say...i honestly feel for you and understand...good luck
They used to make these at Woolworth's lunch counters so it's an older recipe. I LOVE THEM. Nostalgic for the past and for these sammiches. Thanks for posting....they look yummy!
When you add Worcestershire to ground beef your are making Salisbury. Just FYI. Personally I might skip that step. And rather then Mayonnaise I prefer A1 sauce on the inside bread. Also instead of all Swiss I do one slice of it with one slice sharp Cheddar. Now you have a patty melt with some tangy kick to it.
I made a video last fall but have not edited or uploaded yet. It is the standard pickling liquid, white vinegar, water and salt. I added some garlic cloves, red chili peppers and mustard seeds. Thanks for watching.
Hey Tessa, Just got out of the kitchen after whipping these bad boys up and let me tell you what, the amount of burger that hit my pallet was unprecedented, Tyler was blown aback, he knew right away this was a Tessa original, daddy would never put that much burger on a rye bun! I agree with you, she should cook without gloves, without cutting her nails and without washing her hands, EVER, even after taking a dump or changing her diapers, especially if she has a highly contagious illness. Gloves against contamination??!! You're right, there is something wrong with her 😵💫 This video with black gloves is from only 1 year ago and yes, since the pandemic everybody wears black gloves, I don't know what flavor they are.

I think cast iron is about the best to cook a hamburger on or off the grill. Get some good smoke going in a grill and try it sometime.

If you like mayo then you should try using mayo as the browning agent for the outside of the bread instead of butter. Is amazing.
