Props to Mick Ennis for helping Gordy through this segment!
Good on you Gordy. Nothing wrong with wearing your heart on your sleeve. True measure of a good human being
Gordie u big bold souk
Absolutely
You can tell no matter what this man does in life he does it with passion, on the field and off it.
Exactly probably even more impressive because his scope as a human is so vast capable of such tenderness and such toughness .
@J G you need a hug? lets be friends? lol
For the big man himself to breakdown like that, shed a tear in my eye 😭
Pussy
@@nz-bass-head6306 what
@@nz-bass-head6306 go say it to hs face you pussy hahaha
@J G who cares about soccer ⚽️…🤦🏼♀️ffs.. why are you even watching..
Mates sticky together and blokes need to support each other, be open and honest.
Chris Brayley that's a true mate there is nothing wrong with a man that has a cry over some one they have lost or are going through hard times only a real man cries
2020 vision. check out the targets of the U.N. Lima Declaration from 1975. totally unconstitutional. satanic
I do it myself with my closest mates, doesn't matter as long as mates talk about their issues openly.
@MUFC very poor form mate
Michael ennis was such a grub at times but geez he did well when gordy broke down has such good words to say nice work mick 👍
Yea well on the field some players are different. Ennis seems like a real genuine bloke of the field. He is good at commentary though
Yeh I hear what you're saying he is the all time greatest sledger even worse than Justin Hodges but that was just his game face. Many people around the game say he is a genuinely good bloke. He seems like it.
Lazlo Ghostknifeblack Ennis may of been a bit of an Instigator out on the field but he seems like a pretty cool bloke off it.
How one plays on the field does not reflect how one is off the field especially when these guys are no longer playing so there’s no bias.
He was a pest at most but full time when sharks won GF two ballboys were nearest to him to hug and he didn’t let them down . Legend.
Theres more man in those tears than in entire countries
You can see why the Broncos of Gordies era were one of the best teams of all time.
They cared about each other like family, they bled for each other and never let their mate down.
They also played off emotion which is why I’m not surprised that Gordie broke down when talking about Kevvie’s proud moment of giving his son billy his storm jersey along with his personal struggles.
100% correct.
hear hear
And they still haven’t let go. These days players are letting go week in week out.
@@roughgooch7859also referring to walters losing his wife to breast cancer. The boys all stuck him
That is prolly the proudest moment of your life to hand your son a jersey for the game we love
Michael Ennis stepped up! Top man💪
Wow seeing big Gordy cry can make any tough bloke humble. Had the greatest honour of shouting a real qlder a drink. Thanks Gordy for the memories.
I’m South African and only just recently started watching league. One thing I see is how tight the league players are, truly like brothers. Fking love the brotherhood!
The Apartheid was a real brotherhood also
@@dazuleh fuck i laughed out loud when I read this comment. crude, but direct!
Up the springboks
@DVN True leaguies hate rugby YAWNion. YAWNion is for snobby suits that look down at our code.
@DVN Fck the Wobblies.
Gordy that was very touching mate, proves you have a heart of gold.
Chin up mate u are a champion
This is coming from a blues supporter :-)
Blues supporters suck ass
westsideAUKILANI
Your a fuckwit!
Go take your head for a shit
Seriously?? Craig expresses positivity for Tallis here, and in light of Finchy saying this is bigger than a game of footy, you punch out some mindless rhetoric?
Not enough men are in touch with their emotions, Tallis just showed even "tough" blokes are able to cry, it's great for everyone no matter if they bleed Maroon, Blue, or whatever. Plus, we are all green & gold, don't forget.
Now go crawl back into your hole, from another Blues supporter.
@@gregwalker9506
You understand, well said. Gordon I never liked, but you can't fault the man here, no matter your allegiances.
westsideAUKILANI take your comment back to any other State Of Origin clip where it would be appropriate, not appropriate here at this time.
@@gregwalker9506 cry me a river ya New South maggot
Ennis class for coming through like that
The Raging Bull has a HUGE heart.
What a moment.. And all class by Micheal Ennis
Kevin Walters lost his wife to cancer, she died on Christmas Day many years ago. He raised his three sons as a single Dad. He’s since remarried, but it’s still incredibly raw for all involved. Gordon is a lovely bloke. He said whenever I needed help or a job he’d always be there for me. Used to work with I’m at ch9.
You need to research more before you comment.
Im a new South Wales diehard and disliked Gordy when he played but Seeing Gordy cry made me cry also. Him crying for his mate shows how much of a good bloke he is . Much love Gordy ❤️
Gordy is a good man , wears his heart on his sleeve. Handy man to have in your trenches. Much respect to the man.
Tallis is the definition of a true friend. I'd be proud to have a loyal friend like him
People who say real men dont cry need to watch this. Tallis was an animal on the field and regularly ranks among a lot of players toughest opponents. That's a real man there!!
Its a Beautiful Moment. Makes me question myself if I had treated my friends properly
As a proud new south welshman, ive allways loved gordon tallis, tough on the field but a softie at heart
Probably one of the most heartbreaking and satisfying years at the Broncos was 1998.
With Kevvie losing his wife to breast cancer in 1998 he became a single father with Billy only 4 years old. Craig Bellamy joined the Broncos in 1998 to work under Wayne Bennett, the team managed to secure the premiership and with Gordie winning the Clive Churchill medal. Qld also won the State of Origin that year.....Your a champion Gordie and a true friend..
Top man Michael Ennis. Spoke up when needed
Big Gordie just scored some big points with me. Not that I mean much but I’m an entrenched New South Welshman - respect to you Gordon Tallis.
Gordon Tallis he’s a legend I asked him for a photo he was more than willing he’s got a good heart
Ennis made that smooth for Tallis ❤️💯
I have enormous respect for Gorden. He is a good man.
Gordon Tallis is an absolute legend. He doesn’t smoke & never taken drugs. Tells it as it is. One of the most honest down to earth blokes involved in Rugby League... you can take the boy out of Townsville, but not Townsville out of the boy 👊
Daniel Harnden
“little Upper Ross boy”...
Poor bastard! Got a massive heart, ol Gordie. Guys like Gordie are the mates you hang onto.
A moment of absolute compassion for a mate and his family. You are a true friend Gordon Tallis.
Damn you know it’s a real emotional heart touching moment that meant a lot to the Walters family when you see one of the hardest men in the league break down like that. Congratulations to the Walters family for such an achievement.
Tough men that think it’s not manly to cry have been Humbled after watching this.
Wow didn’t know Kevy was a single dad for a long time... That is his greatest achievement 🙏🏽 Awesome to have a Dad do that for pure love for his children... Legend Kevy absolutely bigger then sport..
Well done Gordie. Tears could only mean you care a lot for another human being, which is a great thing!
Thats a true human.
A top bloke Gordie, nothing wrong with crying for your mate. After what Kevvie went through it's understandable, love ya Gordie.
Feel for you big Gordie mate
Been listening to a few Gordy podcast interviews over the last couple of days (Bloke in a Bar, Andy Raymond) where he described how he'd have to become another version of himself in order to compete at the highest level of a very violent sport. He's a deep fella and, as far as I'm concerned, a total fkn sweetheart. Top man.
Yep Gordy is deep in several ways. He's one of the most intelligent men. Many of his observations are spot on.
So beautiful good on you Gordon you are a true gentleman
What a great bloke
To see Gordy cry.
Speaks fo itself.
As a proud new south Welshman. For me Gordon tall is is a top bloke. Love the guy
A Real Gentleman
We love Gordy
Love Tallis. He’s a fucking legend.
One of the toughest and most fearless men on the planet....its ok to shed a tear guys.
Gordy your a true champion.

The raging bull played off emotion. You’d have him in the trenches.

Big Gordy
RESPECT GORDON TALLIS 👏 true warrior, true player,REAL MAN !..From a Wigan supporter !
Tallis is one of the hardest men ever to play NRL. What you are seeing is a man's love for another man knowing full fell what he went through and how he kept it together during the season.
Raging Bull, hats off to you mate.. not just a Legend of the game but your a great mate too !
Doesnt make you less of a man to shed a tear for someone you respect. Good on you gordy
If someone doesnt shed a tear while seeing this, your not human. Ive never seen Gordy like this before and dont quite know why he was crying, but it made me tear up a bit also.
So glad Kevvie was the one to bring the Broncos back to where they belong now though 👊
Kevin's wife died when their kids were young. So his son Billy would be at his dad's Broncos training sessions from a very young age and probably got close to some of the players. Gordy being one. Then talking about Billy's debut in the NRL it hit Gordy in the feels
Billy was around the older broncos players after his mum died and Kevvy became a single dad. He’s proud of both Billy and Kevvy for their success and how far they’ve come
IV seen this a few times I admire this more then th game itself
For the ranging bull to shed a tear for a team mate..tells alot..😭
Respect Gordy lad 👑
Good onya Gordon..... U r a REAL MAN!!! Showing your emotions is PERFECTLY ACCEPTABLE!!!! Much grace and goodness to you mate!!
Your a legend Gordy god bless brother,,,one of the true hard men of rugby💪👍👌👊✊😊
True strength is toughness and compassion

I’ve always admired Gordon Tallis
Your a champion Gordy ☝🏻👍🏻👌🏼
I’m from the UK. Sorry and love ya Gordie 🤟 what a man
Yes, if Gordy can cry I can cry!
that is why rugby league is the greatest game on earth, the toughest men play and they have big hearts too. Gorden and kevie are champions.
Even tough men cry. Well done big fella .
Wowa, that was real deep from Gordie! Im from NZ, i was like nearly asleep watching this in bed and woke up because it was quite emotional.
Good to see the big fellas not affraid to cry and show emotion. Shows some strength and pride
One of the all time Hard men in rugby league shows that we’re all human.. good to see how proud he is not only of Billy getting a Jersey but of what a fine job Kevy did aswell
Real men cry. ✊
@j Peters
Then you're a Muppet

This made me cry 😢 Gordon Tallis Legend Kevin Walters 6 premierships legendary
Man ain’t gonna lie made me tear up 😢respect for you big fella shows your love and support for your fellow men and passion for the game.
Best thing about NRL is that it creates a Family, not just in Australia but to everyone who's into it, Players and Fans.
youre a champ gordy, one of the toughest most competitve hard men thats ever played footy but also with a compassionate side too.
Strong men cry too. We’re all human with the deepest of feelings and emotion. It’s all good you tough bloke out there. Embrace it.
6 premierships for kevvie fark me what a player and big Gordy showing what his heart is made of.. nice mate 👌
Gordy you are a Legend!
Beautiful. Champion guy
Tallis was such a fierce competitor, his intellect and compassion was often overlooked
More than just the “tough bull”
Hes has a big heart💛😢
If a tougher guy ever played footy I don’t know who that was. There you go guys, it is ok to be human and show emotion, how can anyone have anything but respect for Gordy?
Go the Blues.
RIP Kevin respect to you, single dad for a wee while and one of the best ever footy players in the game, also respect to Gordon such kind words obviously a great and very close friend.
Love it when people have your back like this.
It Takes a man to cry good on ya GORDIE 👍
One of the toughest players to ever play the game , the upmost of respect to man with that much passion.
awesome Gordy true spirit of mateship
Hate to say it I'm a Newcastle boy through and through, but you are a Rugby League Icon and a Big man with a Huge heat and alot of honour, and just show how much it means to you.
Family is more important than you are, though you may be part of your family you don't really understand what the word means until they are gone.
Family is what you make it, it's not just who you are related to by blood - but what you are willing to do for the one's you love.
Nothing Else Matters 🔥❤️
Love ye Gordy awesome player and human being
Definition of a true friend.
Now that is fucking tough! QUEENSLANDER ❤
When the old footage went up on screen and seeing small Billy and his Dad, Gordy couldn't hold back the tears as he was a big part of his life
We can put our thoughts and feelings away in a box, but they never leave. At certain times they resurface, life gets real.
Gordy just showing love for his brother, that's a good mate right there.
...And that is why Gorden was such a tough guy that fought all the time on the field cause he had passion and wore his heart on his sleeve. A true blue block!
Congratulations to the Walters Family and to Gordon for being a part of the Journey🏆
I've met Gordy quite a few times, and he's always a gent. But i just teared up myself , as I have only just seen this today. The panel really looked after him there. Class . Respect.
I watched Billy Walters play against St George.
Good defender, good kicking game (tricky conditions second half with a strong wind at the Storm's back).
Billy made some classic one on one tackles, good passing game.
Goes to the line and wants to get involved...a genuine 1st grader.
A very good first game in the top league.
Congratulations Billy, go get em...young man.
It's good to see the big fella...Gordie shed a tear and show his emotions.
For a good mate and the Walters family.
Now this is where I lose a few viewer's...haha.
Let's hope Kevvie and the boy's, can roll there sleeves up, and get the job done on Wednesday night.
love the game of rugby league, you really build life long friendships with the friends you meet along the way all due to the greatest game of all 💯
