When I first got into this movie, I fancied myself as Henry Higgens, then I grew up a bit and thought I was Col. Pickering...sad to say now that I am fully formed, I am absolutely Alfred Doolittle.
The way Eliza was screaming from the distance. It sounded like Ellen the maid and the cook Mrs. Brill going at each from Mary Poppins. Ironically, both movies came out the same year. Lol
Mrs. Pearce is the voice of reason and common sense in this scene.
@Ithecastic Prof. Pickering isn't the voice of reason. He's the inciting event. Never bet against a character played by Rex Harrison.
I don’t want gold or diamonds, I’m a good girl I am 💃🤓
Lovely film. I was. 9. When it came. Out

I had a British girlfriend who did a perfect imitation of Eliza: "Oi'm a gud gel, Oi em!"
But was she?
@@Useaname No, far from it, unfortunately.
@@jeffreysommer3292 sorry mate
@@Useaname Thanks, it was pretty traumatic.
The scene where they force Eliza to take a bath hasn't aged well. It's abusive and coercive
You forgot "hot"
Isn’t that the whole movie?

How Eliza learned to gone to Al audio recorder mistakes in her street English to a Formal English Speaker well known manners.
I do wish someone would translate this into English.
