    So grateful for your informative videos. My son and I are installing this on our acreage to keep the dogs contained to a certain area for their protection. Thanks to your vids, we are so much more equipped to do so. Thanks ☺️

      I did not have any problems with the wiring portion. It’s all the digging I hatted. My wife helped me with covering up the trench after I laid the wire. Pushing the wire into the ground wasn’t as easy as I thought. So I dug down about three inches and about two inches wide. Make sure you wear old pants or have on knee pads. My knees were raw for two days after the work. But anyway, we have our beagle in the area and seems to figure out where not to play. Have fun. P.S. please don’t have your wife help. Things will go a lot quicker.

    We have an escape artist for a pup. Thinking about getting a fence round our yard. It's a mixture of lawn and concrete
    Do you put the wire straight into the ground or put it through conjugate for protection of the wire. Will that reduce the signal strength? Thanks

    • @Ibiron
      @Ibiron 4 роки тому +1

      The short answer is yes, but just be mindful you will have to remove the the dogs collar if you put her in the car if you crossed over the driveway, at least that what I would imagine. I'm going to find out tomorrow when I fire up my system. So, just something to ponder.

    Good video bro. Question....I wonder if the out twist leads....to the loop. If you put that in conduit. Would that be helpful? Another way of asking. Is that signal string enough to escape a mental conduit?

    Thanks for for the informative video. I know its a little late, but is there a reason why when you double back on a line they have to be a couple feet away from each other

    • @randyleiter8254
      @randyleiter8254 3 роки тому +1

      I'll jump in here, I'm putting one in also. They hv to be couple ft apart or the wires will
      Cancel the other out. Similar, to twisting the 2 wires together...

    • @spamcan9208
      @spamcan9208 3 роки тому

      Yes, 95% sure that the wires' magnetic fields created as current flows through them can cancel each other out. The collar detects this field to work.

    • @PopularAggression
      @PopularAggression 3 роки тому

      @@spamcan9208 thanks, for some reason I thought these where using some kind of R.F. wich had me confused about confused about laying lines on top of each other. Unfortunately invisible fencing wouldn't work with the shape of my yard. Already in the works to put in a visible fence.

    • @spamcan9208
      @spamcan9208 3 роки тому

      I saw one of the manufacturer videos (can't remember the company) say that you can rent a saw that cuts asphalt and make a cut across, bury the wire in the slit and then caulk over it with driveway sealer. But double check everything I said because it's possible I missed something or said something wrong.

  • @AshGreen359
    @AshGreen359 2 роки тому

    How do you install a wire across your asphalt driveway?

    • @kansmill
      @kansmill Рік тому +1

      In our sport dog manual it shows a walk behind asphalt/concrete cutter machine. I would think a concrete blade on large grinder tool would work, like the kind of grinder if you had to fix plumbing encased in concrete. Both should be available from either a Hope Depot, building supply centre, or machine rental shop.

    So if you're only doing a front yard, so double looping, the wires can't go in the same trench?

    • @dariusbrown2501
      @dariusbrown2501 3 роки тому

      If you aren’t trying to cancel the signal then they need to be separated into their own trench

    Thanks for the video! I have a question, can you run the wire along the top of a chain link fence to keep the dog from jumping the fence? My backyard is about a quarter of an acre and it's fenced in and it's also wooded, I want my dog to be able to go to the fence bout not over, thanks again for the video!

    • @EyezLikaFox̌
      @EyezLikaFox̌ 3 роки тому +1

      You can attach it to a fence but i wouldnt attach it to the top. It might create enough distance on the bottom for a dog to get close and dig out. Attach it towards the bottom, it will beep when they get close so they wont attempt to jump or dig. But be careful when you weed wack!
