Jeez. I just watched it. It's horrible. I cannot believe this. What a monster!!!! To see the parents being told by their children that they did some unimaginable acts is profoundly sad. If he manage to portray himself as a successful man and victim towards experienced cops, these kids didn't have a chance!

This pissed me off in more ways than one. I was mad at the parents, I was mad at Felicia especially because you're a psychiatrist you know the signs of someone like him. I'm just glad they are out of the situation now and pray for their recovery. & Where the hell was Talia

By episode 2 i couldn’t listen or watch the torment and had to fast forward those parts…this was so upsetting and unbelievable to know this happened.

I watched and the first red flag is that he was allowed to stay (by the young adults) to stay in the dorm. People the only loyalty is to yourself! There’s a lesson to be learned here…say something and people get pissed…so what! It’s about YOU.

thank you i thought the same. Right from the start, he's sleeping on a couch in a common area and never pays rent. um no.

I'm a true crime addict and I have to tell you this is very hard to watch for me. I'm half way through it and I've had to stop and start it 4 or 5 times... I just can't believe what this guy has been putting these kids through... It just breaks my heart and you can see the pain in all of their faces during the interviews as well as their families. I'm going to keep trying to watch it but it might take some time. It's put together very well.. I'm sticking with it JUST to watch this guy get arrested and to hear his punishment.. Flipping BASTARD! ROT IN HELL!!!

This on was very disturbing, it's scary knowing there is a percentage of humanity that is as sadistic, Insidiously narcissist and a total life destroyer like Larry.🤢

This program was so disturbing and the rage and disgust I have for this man don't usually get.But I bet like the father's of those kids I'd like to see this monster tortured for the rest of his miserable life.....The death penalty was made for people like this and i know he didn't get it but hopefully prisoners on watching this series will serve the ultimate prison justice, fingers crossed 🤞😢

Cheers Chris! We just finished The Terminal List - Pratt's best role to date as far as acting chops go! I'm finishing off Vox Machina S2, and working through Record of Ragnarok S2 (thanks Ruben! ;), as well as Vinland Saga S2. We'll prob go back to Jack Ryan S2 and push through the subtitles (my Mrs' eyesight is terrible eh). Just noticed Clarkson's Farm 2 is out yay! :D

I really like documentaries, but a lot of them have SO MUCH music overlaid on top of the dialogue, I can't hear. I get really irritated. Since you watch so many, would you let me know if you've found any with very little, light or even no music added?
PS - Two that I really found interesting (and disturbing) are The Girl in the Picture and The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez.

This may not be a hot take here, but I still have trouble understanding how he was able to turn a Harvard graduate into a conspiracy nut over one dinner? Between the friends on the outside making fun of them, and the parents of fel giving hundreds of thousands of Dallas to fuel the conspiracy and at the same time say it’s all Larry’s fault and there’s nothing they can do, I found myself just shaking my head and not able to empathize with any of it. It makes me feel like a really shitty person to be so angry with the victims .

Dissociation induced via hypnotic techniques, sleep deprivation, etc. Your position is more typical than unusual. Most people need to believe it couldn’t be them.

i felt the same way. i just didn't feel like he was a "master manipulator." i thought he seemed exactly like a sleazy creep so pathetic he had to mooch off his own daughter. I don't get why anyone would listen to one word this middle-aged couch-dweller has to say, let alone be fascinated by him.
oh, plus he had just finished doing a bid in prison, and he openly talked about being an informant. i'm sorry i don't see the appeal.

A victim can also be a perpetrator. Abuse and manipulation can shape some victims into abusers and explains their behavior but it does not excuse or justify it.
My psychology/sociology teacher would constantly drive home the point that younger people who pursue a career in those fields are seen as desirable to some predatory individuals. There's a stereotype that when studying those topics you will start to see red flags everywhere including places where nothing is going on. This can make someone doubt themselves especially if they are new to the subject and makes them more likely to write it off as an overreaction because "If this happens to someone else they need to get away, yeah this relationship is like the one I'm in but in my case it's different and you just don't understand. Somthing like that would never happen to me and if it did I would notice it immediately and leave."
Once a person like this is under the thumb of an abuser they will get away with things they normally couldn't because "X studies people and behavior so they would know if something was going on." If they try to leave and open up about the abuse their knowledge of how people think and behave will be used to accuse them of psychologically and emotionally manipulating people into believing things that aren't true. Everyone has trouble with admitting something they were wrong about but it's even harder on those who know the signs to look for but over looked them.
