is the 8000 smaller than the willard ? And do you recomend the 6105-8000 as I have the 6105-8110 from Rdunea and its a great watch

It's narrower at 41mm vs the 44mm of the Willard homage. The watches share only the dial, hands, movement and caseback. The crown, case, bezel and insert are all different so there's some nice details that separate one from the other. I like having both but wear the 8000 homage more because the smaller design is more practical.

I have the old and the new version of the 8000 by Rdunae. If you want buy the new version be aware that the hands are all now polished and sized a bit smaller but closer to the original Seiko. The crown is also now signed with the wrong arrow marker like the 8110. The dot at the 12 o'clock bezel is now correct; 4 vs 3. The crystal has clear AR coating instead of blue on the old one.

How is the seiko 6105 dial holding up? Did you have to use dial dots/adhesive to attach it to the NH35 movement? Is it worth changing the dial? I ordered the Rdunae R2 and am considering moding the seiko 6105 dial on it too

Yeah I did cut the feet and use adhesive strips and it's a really simple drop in replacement, looks great except the lume on the Seikosis dial is way dimmer than the lume plot and hands, maybe in time I'll get replacement hands to match but I went back to the Rdunae dial. The quality to me is no worse than the Seikosis dial and now everything matches. If you're not bothered about the lume then it is worthwhile but the R2 and R2X are almost perfect as are imo.

That is good to know. I might not bother getting the Seikosis dial then when I could afford to buy the R2X for the same price as the dial and work involved. I want a Seiko 6105 8000 but i would be afraid to use a vintage watch daily. These Rdunaes appear true to the originals compared to the recent reissues.

Yeah I was in the same situation, the originals are incredible but are often in bad shape and full of aftermarket parts and the good examples aren't really going to get worn like they were intended. The R2 and R2X gets you the look at a great price with modern water resistance and you can drop in another movement for the fraction of the price to service an original. I have the Seiko modern reinterpretations of both and still there's things I prefer on the Rdunaes.

Did you take the AR coating off

Hi, no the R2X (Willard homage) comes with a clear AR, I believe it originally had blue AR on the initial batchs which some people didn't like. I asked a seller if newer 6105 8000 homages also comes with clear AR but he said no they are still blue.

@@CarJacka how do I get the new batch

@@jmeler1254 If you're buying the watch new I guess you'll get the clear AR on the Willard homage, if you're looking to buy second hand it's worth asking if the coating is clear or blue. Rdunae themselves are really helpful if you have questions too. Cannot fault them for the money.
