  • In this video we talk about tuning the Dye M2. This can be applied to other Dye Markers with an LPR and HPR. Will show examples in next video when I get the chance to get to a field next.
    Tools needed: Dye Tool.
    When I say a spin on the ball I don't mean to the effect of and APEX barrel at all. Not even close to an APEX.
    The ports on the barrel help equalize the air pressure but that do have other effects on the ball as well.
    My name is Matt and I am traveling Tech for Dye Paintball. Wanted to help players fix and understand their Dye M2 more.

    Dude I'm sorry you lost me when you said the holes in the barrel cause the ball to spin. That's just patently wrong.
    By adding porting to a barrel, air escapes the barrel from the sides, reducing the amount of air that exits the barrel at the tip. Removing the access air from the tip of the barrel aids in reducing the loud popping sound.
    Porting also helps with accuracy a bit. The porting helps draw away extra air away from the ball and help reduce turbulence when the ball exits the barrel.

      You are correct. When I did this video that is what I was led to believe and was told by someone else a long time ago.

    what about the dwell? how do i go about that? I'm trying to reach 9 pods off a 77 which i think is extremely doable.

    So I got this gun for my son, I'm from old school autococker days. What kind of factory tuning is done? By that I mean, I have turned on the tourney lock switch so it's all factory defaults. How well is dye tuning these guns out the factory? Should I just try to balance the gun to a consistent chrono speed for his first few games?

      Yeah. all Dye markers are fine out of the box. Just keep it chrony'd in the low 290s and it will be fine. The only thing I did was lower the LPR slightly to make the marker a bit softer on paint and a touch quieter, but it isn't necessary. Its just preference. I'm sure your son will love it mate.

    What can be causing the green o ring to be leaking I've changed it and after there is air in it ... It shoots fine for a lil bit then the air starts leaking out if the frame

      make sure the trigger frame screws tighten down all the way. Also make sure there isn't anything or cables causing the trigger frame not to be flush with the body.

    when tuning you leave your dwell at stock? Trying to change the tuning from straight shooter to a loobing shot, you still leave dwell at stock too? Informative video, thanks

      TnTriton225 my dwell setting have been stock since day one release of the m2.

    • @DyeTechMatt
      @DyeTechMatt  7 років тому +1

      TnTriton225 I will add the only time to adjust your dwell is for cold weather and it is recommended to set to 18. And stock is 15.

    • @TnTriton225
      @TnTriton225 7 років тому

      a little off topic, but would you do the DM's the same way?

    • @DyeTechMatt
      @DyeTechMatt  7 років тому +1

      TnTriton225 for only dm14 and 15 stock is 18. And would say changing it to 19 will do the same. But any higher would only hurt the the consistency of the gun.
      Not off topic.

      I am looking to improve ball to ball fps can you speak about tuning bolt ABS/DWELL/EYE DELAY, TRIGGER DELAY etc? What are your thoughts on the the orings suggested here: www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=5465514 ?
      The CCup in the tophat noticeably reduced friction at that seal.
      Is it a problem going to a softer sail bumper oring? Would that give a smoother feeling shot or will it add undesired bounce to the bolt.
      Over fps is equal for either the lob shot or front player shot I assume... Would you elaborate more on the trajectory/accuracy/consistancy if tuned far one direction or the other? Are you just speaking to the time between pulling the trigger and the ball reaching its target not actually the flight pattern of the ball?

      Only change if the weather falls below 35 increase the dwell by 2, shouldn't need to get the dwell over 20.
