Holidaying in Tokyo n came across this at usd360 used in pristine condition. Bought..mounted and took images of my kids...shot at 1.2 cos it's 5pm n dusk in Tokyo...this thing is sharp at 1.2! Many street billboards in Tokyo and I can shoot abt 1/90 at 1.2. great lens!

As your go into the longer telephoto lens minimum focus distance tends to go up, i i picked up this lens knowing this, the closest lens i have is a Pentax 77mm f1.8 limited, it's much smaller than the Viltrox but slower. I can use it on my Pentax K1 full frame and APSC cameras. On the APSC bodies it still has a nice background separation and focal length, so im looking forward to the Viltrox 75mm f1.2 at a wedding i will be attending this September.
Love the look of the image at 3:37 I am guessing this was edited? Or is it SOOC? I am stuck deciding between this or the sigma 56 1.4 for my trip to japan but this seems to have more of a wow factor when it comes to the image ... my only concern is the weight and size on my xt3
@@peacefulremedy1233 it's used. Only at bic outlets carry used items. But it came w box.. unused cloth bag...and condition is like new...no signs of usage at all.

Are viltrox lenses prone to fogging inside? Wanted to get a 27f1.2. found 1 used and a couple of 56f1.2 used. All labelled w slight fogging on Internal elements. When I looked thru carefully truly there is a little fogging at the outer ring of the center elements. Really hard to see unless u shine a torch at abt 45degree angled at the edges.
Very reluctant to go near this having tried the 85mm .. returned as unusable .. chromatic aberration out of control. When you say there's a 'little fringing' on the 75 .. I'm afraid of what that might mean.
Those lenses are very different. 85mm is cheap copy of full frame Zeiss Batis for Sony with Chinese glass and coatings. This one specifically designed for Fuji crop sensors and made with Japanese glass and coatings👍
Well, AF is one drawback compared to XF90f2. The other ist maximum magnification, which ist far better in case of the XF90f2. I don’t think that the Bokeh will be so much different in most situations. However, the f1.2 will be very helpful in low light. So for me, it is 2:1 Fuji90 (af, min focus distance vs low light performance). However, I still haven’t decided and this Viltrox is very appealing
The look and feel of the 90mm f2 lens can be replicated with a full-frame zoom lens 😬. While it's a great lens if you're stuck with Fuji and need that focal length, it can be too boring when compared to other systems. However, this one is different. Focus magnification/minimal focus distance - yeah, a real bummer.
@@goxukraine I don't think that the (slight) difference in depth of field makes a photo more interesting. To be honest, most bokeh comparisons show a boring subject such as a cup or a super hero figure with smaller or larger bokeh light balls in the background ;-). In real life, one will see only a (slight) difference when directly compared . As for full-frame look: This can be easily achieved by getting a full frame system ;-) However, the f1.2 aperture allows more handheld usability, i.e., low light usability. This is the main reason why I am interested in this lens.
@@thomasackermann6097 The 90mmF2 gives me shots that my Olympus 135mm f2.8 gives, pretty good but the Viltrox gives shots that are closer to the 105mm f1.4 from Sigma. If you can't tell a difference in the bokeh and look. You need to take more interesting pictures. Try full body or environmental portraits
I don't think it's very unique. Nikon had FF 105mm f1.4 decades ago. And Sigma 105mm f1.4 was available too (at least for EF mount). This lens is pretty close in terms of FoV.
Get 90mm lens and try it out for yourself. If you got it cheap, you can always sell it for around the same price. Fujifilm lenses have great resale value! We tested almost all Fujifilm lenses this way. We found a lens being sold at a low price, got it, tested it, and sold it after few months. I think we even made some money doing this😉
One thing the Fuji 90mm has going for it is fantastic close focus range. 60cm gives it about a 0.3x reproduction ratio, which should handle just about anything other than dedicated macro work. The fact that the Viltrox only focuses as close as 88cm is the biggest reason I've held out. I know the optics are great, and that f/1.2 on this focal length leads to some very special shots. But I don't shoot a lot of actual portraits, so the size/weight and weak close-focus hold it back from being a more general-purpose lens for how I shoot. But the Fuji 90mm is expensive. And the Samyang 75mm doesn't have an aperture control. And Sigma hasn't released their 65/2 or 90/2.8 for Fuji. They all seem great in a lot of ways, but none quite perfect for me.
Thank you for this great review. 112mm ff equivalent is an unusual focal length to be sure. I am most comfortable with something around 100-105mm, but I don’t think anyone makes a good portrait lens for FujiFilm in this range. It also seems a bit big and heavy for my taste, but otherwise what a magnificent lens! I’m on the fence now but I’d agree Viltrox’s 75mm f1.2 is probably the best portrait lens for Fuji’s X-mount cameras… or is it FujiFilm’s own 56mm f1.2?
The 50mm f1 lens is amazing. I have reviewed it on this channel. It is great for general photography, but for portraits, I would prefer the Viltrox lens. It’s that good👍

If they release one, sure. Right now there is no 75mm for E-mount.

If I are in Japan go bic camera outlets...they have Fuji 56f1.2 at abt USD 360...I got myself one there.

Get 90mm lens and try it out for yourself. If you got it cheap, you can always sell it for around the same price. Fujifilm lenses have great resale value!
We tested almost all Fujifilm lenses this way. We found a lens being sold at a low price, got it, tested it, and sold it after few months. I think we even made some money doing this😉

Fuji AF is much snappier, but I prefer the photos from the Viltrox 75mm lens. If you don't need fast AF, go for Viltrox
Get the Viltrox, it's an amazingly sharp lens so if you have a Fuji X-H2 it does resolve the fill 40mp

For half the price, i'd say the 75 is wayyyy better. The 56f1.2 maybe a bit better in some areas but not x2 better
