This was my first year marching with Phantom Regiment! The intro/opener is about going to Paris and the hustle and bustle of the city. The ballad, Clair De Lune, is about vising French gardens. The 3rd part is the Moulin Rouge; the hornline has drill that looks like the windmill. The closer, the Organ Symphony by Camille Saint-Saens depicts visiting the Notre-Dame Cathedral, specifically the stained glass windows. Throughout the whole show, different Paris/French-themed images appear, such as a fleur de lis, the Arc de Triomphe, "I Love Paris" music motifs, and the colorguard uniforms being inspired by Audrey Hepburn's Breakfast at Tiffany's. The whole goal of that show was to bring the audience to Paris, so it's awesome that it seemed to take you there!
11:18 SAK. SUTA
Oh no not another SUTA reference 😂
Kelly I noticed in the Muphreesboro performance the bass drum head changed color but then finals night I just saw white heads. Why did they change?
The way the mellophones just rip through the hornline is just so so so good
If you like this, you HAVE to check out Phantom Regiment 2010, Into the Light. It's similar in style and energy, but more emotional and intense. This show is more light hearted.
YES!
That's such a good show :)
The most underrated Phantom show! My favorite uniforms in all of DCI
sigh, so miss more classic Phantom unis.
Phantom Regiment 2016 or 2013 is slept on heavily
As a 2016 ageout this comment makes my heart soar
Can you check out Cadets 2015 sometime soon? That year their brass won 1st
Phantom Regiment 2019 was my favorite. You should try that one, it's amazing
I agree. Good show. Preseason was a struggle but they did a good job, although I'm not for the singing part in the show. It was off for me.
I personally didn't like 2019 Phantom. I don't know, it just felt off. My favorite Phantom shows are '89, '03, '08, '11, and '12. 89 is just all around hornline awesomeness. 2003 is also fantastic brass with great pit and marching, 2008 was just such a good performance and it conveyed the story of Spartacus perfectly. As a low brass player, 2011 just makes my ears happy. The use of the low voices was sooooooo good. And 2012 was just a good show
@@nhpowell12 i feel like swan lake is an underrated show. it's personally top 5 phantom shows for me
@@burdrchitect1680 yeah in general I feel like the show engagement-wise got a bit weaker as it went on. The closer felt off to me. That opener felt like it was in true phantom fashion though.
Phantom 93 is a great show.
Pure enjoyment to watch and great music. I agree that it was hard to recognize many of the shapes they performed.
If you look towards the near sidelines there is a prop that they hide behind to do a quick change. The props are to the right and left of the front ensemble.
3 words. Tyler Norman's helmet 😆
Phantom is my favorite Corp and yes their uniforms are always sharp and classy. But if you haven’t seen it yet, check out Boston Crusaders 2019 show “Goliath”. That was my favorite show from that year’s DCI Championship. And of course “I am Joan” from PR was an awesome show too. I really think they deserved to place higher than they did that year.
I've been Jonesen for one of your DCI REACTIONS! MUCH LUV FROM ORLANDO, FL!😊😁❤
Hey Courtney this is Terry Mitchell and Alexandria Indiana about 40 miles north of Indianapolis where the world championships are held and phantom regiment that I've been a fan of phantom regiment drum corps for years they have such a deep orchestral sound they use a lot of the contras and a lot of the baritones which are basically tubas and trombone in in a band but their voice differently with bugles and they have such a deep orchestral sound I mean it to see it live it's just I mean it just it brings you up out of your seat I mean if you feel you feel their horn line when they come to the to the grandstands it's amazing they are they have one of the greatest sounds in drum corps
I absolutely love all your drum corps videos Courtney I watch them over and over about 15 times every single day LMAO thank you so much for reacting to them. I tell all my friends about you
I only got to see this show once in Denton 2015 while I was touring with The Academy. I wish I could have seen more of this show
What an outstanding show seriouslyTakes a lot of work for a band show such as that
👽🛸
References: Shopping, American in Paris, Some great French composers were used as well. Especially, the Organ Symphony in the closer depicting the arches of Notre Dame I believe.
Here's the show rep:
I Love Paris by Cole Porter / Horoscope by Constant Lambert / Claire de Lune by Claude Debussy /
Piano Concerto in C# Minor by Francis Poulenc / An American in Paris by George Gershwin /
Symphony #3 (Organ Symphony) by Camille Saint-Saens
I don't know if you reacted to this or not. But, Santa Clara Vangard Miss Saigon is an awesome show. It's from the early 90's so it could be hard to find. But, worth the search! I just looked for it was easy to find. Just search for santa clara vangaurd miss saigon 1991. Really good!
One of my favorites
The timing is impeccable impeccably awesome :-)
Thank you for sharing the video brings a smile to many faces I am sure 👍🎻🎻🎼
And as P.S Wait wait wait wait the two boys are playing it so awesome
Two boys were playing the tuba and third with a xylophonez👽🛸👍🙃
👽🛸
Blue devils 2015, “INK” very clean, very nice, and it is the winning show in 2015 over Carolina Crown “Inferno”
Love watching this it’s so cool!!!
I was In the audience for this one! I legit cried at the end
6:49 the color guard put their different flags behind the pit percussion where the audience can't see them. That's why they'll run to the front of the field and kneel down, because that's when they're changing flags :) though sometimes if there's a prop on the field, a part of the guard keep their flags behind that while the rest go behind the pit. I hope this made sense :3
You should watch the WGI video of Mechanicsburg 2016. The show has such a great meaning.
Check out phantom 89,91,93,2005-2007
I always love watching the reactions that Phantom Regiment gets. They have always been a class act. Not that I am biased or anything ...... Class of 1973 - Night on Bald Mountain.
All white uniforms look super sharp. Always loved Phantom's style.
I never realized how weird the drill was in this show until now. There's a lot of really amazing moments in there, but the connecting/transition drill is.... odd. Too much random little things going on that don't seem related to anything else around them at the time. I also wish the guard on flags weren't stuck way in the back for most the show.
I will say, he did an excellent job with the guard equipment and costume transitions, though!
It's so sweet that you like marching bands. I legit did that in high school.
Respect from one band geek to another
Man, I forgot how much Phantom was booking it during this show.
Especially Phantom
Their drill always looks clean
Since you asked about the shapes, I saw The Eiffel at the beginning of course, then the Arch de Triumph, the shapes you were thinking about were probably the windows to Notre Dame, and I'm fairly sure they got the pyramids from the Louvre in there somewhere, too.
All that said, I don't think it was one of their stronger shows, and I love Phantom. Okay, not great.
Love that Negative Space Phantom Logo. Way To Go ! ! !
2008 Blue Devils!!
Edit: 2012* Phantom Regiment - Turandot. One of my all time favorite Phantom shows
*2012
@@paulyoo8032 Oops, Thank you! didn't catch that.
Stained glass windows of Notre Dame. A modified version of the "cross to cross" from Star of Indiana's 1991 show. whom many consider one of the greatest drill moves ever (lots of churches with great architecture in Paris). Also, a lot of classic French architecture elements, like the Rococo swirl I noticed in particular in one of the sets. Obviously, the Eiffel Tower. And Paris is "the city of lights", nicknamed from them being one of the first cities to adopt street lights to lessen crime and burglaries.
Where is the original video for this show?
Phantom Regiment was always a fan favorite.
At least in my book.
Hey that's me!

Can you react to a video about the silent warriors a us special forces unit in the 60's that uses bows and arrows instead of the guns of the day for stealth missions? It might be shorter that you expect!

It was awesome, but I've seen MUCH better. That doesn't take away from their awesomeness though.
React to Damian Lillard Highlights, you won’t be sorry, most fun player to watch maybe ever
I have a suggestion
React to :
"These people should no longer be alive" By "Thoughty2"
Wow. Seems really random to watch a DCI video when hardly anyone knows what drum core is
She’s been doing this for nearly a year at this point
"Really romantic!"
Me: No. It's impressionist.
Ewwwww!! Electronics
