Aveda How-To | All Day Straight Hair With Smooth Infusion

- www.aveda.com/p... Learn how to give any type of hair lasting straightness. Aveda's Global Creative Director, Antoinette Beenders, demonstrates how hairstyles from coily to wavy can be straightened with naturally-derived Aveda products.
Prime your locks for supreme softness with Aveda Smooth Infusion Shampoo and Conditioner, working the product into a gentle lather to cleanse and moisturize. Rinse thoroughly and towel dry before pumping Smooth Infusion Style Prep Smoother into your palms and finger-combing to distribute. The lightweight botanical formula creates a barrier against heat styling tools and prevents damage. Finish with Smooth Infusion Glossing Straightener for brilliant shine and a silky texture.
At Aveda, we believe product plus technique gets results. Beenders demonstrates the flat wrap technique, using a flat bristled or paddle brush to firmly brush hair to the side of the head, running a blow dryer from nape to ends. The key to this style is holding your hair taut, using a fine-toothed comb to straighten the sections closest to your hairline and scalp. Complete the look with Elements Smoothing Fluid to calm frizz and flyaways.
Click the link above to shop the collection and attain lasting straightness no matter what the day brings.
forgot to mention that I went to a local Aveda salon and they had just got the product, but never done it on anyones hair muchness afro hair, so for $150 I did not wanna be the first guinea pig. So I came hear in search of what I can expect when using your product on afro hair. I cannot handle surprises especially when it comes to my hair ya know.
Here's a suggestion. Try using someone with actual curly hair. I mean her hair is like a little bit curly but try using someone with curly hair that when you brush it out when it's wet, it doesn't smooth itself out as much. Natural ACTUAL curly hair isn't as easy to style like the girl in this video. Like if you agree
Yeah!!! Use me
😹😹
HeyItsKenna u
I love the smooth infusion line. I use it religiously.
I need to buy the curly line for my daughter and I to use in the Summer.
Thanks for making great products!
I love how she just threw the product on the floor at 1:09
Omg😂😭
Omg 🤣🤣🤣
Shes the boss
It's rediculous how straight she was able to blow-dry her hair! My hair NEVER blow-dries anywhere NEAR that straight!
I'm glad I found this since my hair is exactly like this and I wasn't sure how to blow dry it straight.
Her sectioning is so good!
Simply gorgeous hair
This was very helpful.
By five consecutive uses, do you mean repeating the entire process five days in a row the same week? Monday-Friday to get the results?
Hi - We appreciate your interest in Aveda. Aveda products are sold exclusively through our network of Aveda Concept Salons and Spas and Experience Centers. What blow dryer are you using? I really need a good one and the one she was using looks like it would do wonders for my hair!
Thanks for the quick reply. I should have asked part b, if it does work on afro hair does aveda have any videos showing it used n afro hair or mixed ethnicity hair or virgin unprocessed hair? if so can you point me to the link so I can see how it is done and how it looks afterwards. Thanks.
Gorgeous. Love it.
Oh my Gooooooooooooood how I love this videoooooooooooo!!!!!!
Love it! I use that technique all the timee!
It's difficult to do so with hair like hers. I have to use a flat iron as well because blow drying just doesn't do it. It's not a big deal when there are heat protectors out there to shield your hair. I was amazed at the improvement in this video just from the blow drying though! My complaint is how much of the product was used on the girl. It made her hair a bit greasy. My salon uses Aveda and they don't put nearly as much product in my hair, and I achieve very good results.
Are you serious?
I love using this shampoo and condition, but I usually find I can move to the men's modeling clay after, but I also don't have such a long hair :D
the products and technique work!
Does this help straighten and smooth AFRO hair? My hair is very fine, but it is afro kinky curly and I can't find anything that keeps it smooth all day. All of the videos I see are always of people with a looser curl.
Hello,
I'm YADA a Hair & Make- Up Artist. If you want straight hair all day make sure you don't put any oils or grease in your hair before you blow dry or straighten your hair. Just put your heat defence spray.
After you blow dry and straighten your hair, then you can put any oils of your choice. Stay away from aqua based products if your hair is kinky.
After styling your hair make sure you wrap it. Sleep with your hair wrapped, in the morning your hair should look silky and straight.
YADA
I haven't used this product in particular. However it's the technique that matters the most. Follow the technique I've laid out and you should be fine.
YADA
what does the smooth infusion smell like cuz im trying to figure out if thats what my old stylist used before the aveda around me closed down now i have to go somewhere else and i loved my results a aveda so much more....so if someone could try and explain what it smells like would be nice...because what she used on me was kinda on the fruityer side of organic shampoo
Coarse? ... Aveda needs to show a different stylist for their video. One that has enough experience to know the difference between coarse, and fine hair.
+Cyu Hen Coarse hair just means thick individual strands of hair, not necessarily a lot of them. Any texture of hair can have thick strands.
+qreusgurl search up coarse, you're not quite right
Cyu Hen thank you for making that comment. I was wondering that myself. Her hair is fair from coarse. It actually looks fine. Ijs
what about bleached damaged hair? and If it works would it affect the color (anti-brass)?
Hi AMJLovesTheLord! The product is for all hair types. ^ka
@izzythedancer actually, that smoke was the product evaporating off her hair, if there was no product in the hair, the moisture in the hair would be evaporating, therefore causing more damage. Just sayin :)
Here is an easier way. Wash your hair, blow dry your hair , then straighten your hair without buying all these products.
word
CameronPlays it can damage your hair lol
CameronPlays then how to get straight hair that will stay straight all day?? my hair remain straight for few hours only... any suggestions?
Can this product be used on Afro hair? Are their any videos to see this treatment done on afro hair or ethnic hair?
@jjg35 It is possible to achieve a smooth look on curly hair in the salon without an iron but this guest not only has very curly hair but it is textured and may have some damage on the ends. Using an iron in this instance will achieve the smoothest look possible and that is not something that can be achieved with just a blow dryer - not even by a stylist.
hello I am from Algeria and I d like to use your products.
your products are in Romania? I hope I'll get an answer !
Where it is available
What brand of flat-bristled brush is used? Thanks.
My hair is in that hair cut and mine is Super thick Super frizzy Super wavy/curly and i have a lot of hair

The stylist said her hair is coarse. Ummm she needs to give Aveda back the money they paid her to do this tutorial. This video irks me. I wish they would show rollersetting technique with this product.
What brush does she use to blow dry the hair? Thanks
Hi @pinkpop37. We’re not sure on the exact details of this brush but you can use our Wooden paddle brush for similar results. ^jp
does the straight hair stay permanent
Hi Samaira, no, this product does not permanently straighten hair. Learn more about our Smooth Infusion line here: aveda.cm/2lYyZvV. ^jr
The song is from the game diversion
Omg I thought he said horse hair, but then I read the comments. O.o YES NOW I HAVE A PRODUCT FOR 6TH GRADE CAMP!!

@nessanessa01 what type of hair is it?
I love so much the model with the hair on her sweet face....
Coarse hair????? Does she mean thick or full? Def not coarse!
her hair isn't even thick
True I would consider her hair strands fine to medium. But I guess in comparison to the stylist hair, her hair is a bit fuller I guess. But I agree don't think she really has thick hair and def not coarse. I was confused at her statement as what she really meant.
If she didn't have coarse hair, the stylist could have just let it air dry with product but then you would see the model's hair would be coarse and not silky.
With the products, technique and equipment the stylist made the model's hair so silky, shiny and straight which would have been impossible if it was air dried with no product.
Beautiful style.

+Raneem Amra شكرا
Coarse hair???? Da fuck....Try feeling my hair when it's completely dry
Great video but I'd say way too much glossing straightener was used. This is a very powerful product.
yea right
wow
Ethnic hair? What is ethnic hair? A person from any background can have her hair texture which appears to be wavy and somewhat fine. It may not be very defined when dry but that doesn't make it course. I have to admit, I am struggling to see what is considered 'ethnic' about her hair. If this is considered course hair, I wonder what some of you consider type 4 hair to be (4a, 4b, 4c). All hair types are beautiful course or not. Her hair just does not happen to be course.
@ygujt just order it online.
❤️
Coarse? Ha okay..
right?! lol
My thoughts exactly.😒😒🙄🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
Her hair is thick that’s what she means by coarse
She does blink
Omg you just like ruined her hair! Did you see how much steam was coming out from using the straightener !! You burned her hair!
No no her hair wasn't burning it was just the products and the heat protector that burned off the hair and it was only steam not smoke and all of this happens when you use a straightner on hair that has product in it.
That was just the water evaporating.
so expensive for one bottle
Smooth infusion smells like all aveda products...minty!
yeah..it really seemed like you were protecting her hair while all the heat/smoke was coming from the blowdryer.
This is nikki anderson my mother does my hair
Her hair is not coarse at all :o
Too many products. A good stylist doesn’t use high heat to blow dry. My hair stylist tells me that every time.
neat, but at the end they're hiding most of her hairline.
she does not buy these products she works thats why she is doing Natalia's hair cuz she works
i'm wondering by whose definition is her hair coarse lol
@SarahLuvKins i know...lol i was just be sarcastic when i said that lol i know it is causing damamge to her hairr...
Is that Meghan??!
wow, they actually made her hair look better...lol, most of their videos seem to ruin the model's hair
Show me this on black people kinky hair, then I will be impressed. This model's hair isn't the least bit course.
That's more 'wavy hair' than 'curly hair'
She doesn't have coarse hair, she has more of silky hair type;
Horns @ 1:51 ^.^
the girl looks rlly uncomfortable lmao
Bring back the old formulas! The new shampoo and conditioner in this range is straight up rubbish!
This is nikki anderson I been married for nineteen years
Damage, damage, damage!
L
This is so impractical
at 1:14 you said she has coarse hair LOL!!
That is not coarse hair
I'd fall asleep
I thought the videos were ok
No ôldßiànmi
lol she kept the same face throughout the whole video
coarse hair my ass lol
What a waste!! Straightening could have been done through blow dryer/straightner alone. Why would one purchase these expensive products when the results can actually be witnessed via application of any heat protector and blow dryer. I hope consumers are not so dumb.
Hi, Mitul - thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. At Aveda, we believe product plus technique gets results, but we know that everyone finds their perfect fit with different combinations of those things. We'll pass your comment on to our team, but we do hope you'll check us out for our options. We actually have a new blow dry accelerator spray called Speed of Light that offers multiple benefits including heat protection and may something up your alley! ^lg
Shes HOT!
her hairs barely wavy 😂😂😂 come on!!!!!!!!
