This music track is edgy even for David Archuleta. The music is great, and the Production value is awesome. I know David is writing about his own relationship experiences, which many musical singers do. We can't expect David to be the Christmas Ambassador forever. David just might be turning the corner to a new path where he will continue to develop his skills and grow. Hopefully one day soon, David will find his true soul mate.

Whether about the same sex, opposite, both or someone that is neither. He is a true example of a man with a good heart. And it was hard for him to open up about how he feels. He's grown much stronger about it with the help of god and it isn't your life so you cannot stop him. He shows us it's ok to be of faith and feel the way we feel. And I am proud of him

@@ferris_wheel9868 not accepting yourself(in this case sexual orientation) is trauma...especially after more than a decade of suppression. it cause anger resentment depression anxiety feelings of worthlessness etc.

David is a beautiful human being. Showing us how vulnerable and unsure he is of many things about his life... It's touching. I think the word "dangerous" in "Beast" means that since he is not fully in control of situations involving another person getting affectionately close to him, he would end up scaring the person away just by not responding appropriately to the physical exchange, so to speak. He said in an Instagram live last year (while he was taking care of his friends' dog)... that he likes spending time with other people but when the other person gets too close to him, something in him rejects that... He is aware that affection is a good thing, but he doesn't know how to handle it and how to be reciprocal... So the "rejection of affection" is not good, he is aware of that and that's why the adjective "dangerous" shows up. It has a poetic meaning, in my opinion.

I have been a fan since Day 1 David. And I thought you couldn't get any better than you already have been all these years. But I've got to say this version of "David Archuleta" is SO exciting! I love the edginess to your lyrics and the current feel to your songs. The video production (yay Justin Thorne videos!) is exceptional and the production/mixing of your current songs is Grammy worthy to me. Be prepared for stardom David, you deserve it! I've been a fan since day one on American Idol. You are clearly a superb singer, but I always sensed that there was something different about you - that your on-stage persona was much like a butterfy in a jar - so beautiful to view, but you were being trapped by something. I too have lived an early life where I was afraid to admit as to my true feelings that I played the role of the perfect son and person all while the beast inside was never letting me live my life to its fullest.
I truly hope that now that you are allowing yourself outside of that glass jar that you truly find love and life. It is entirely possible to be both a person of faith and to love the creator. As long as you are honest with yourself and you uplift others, then your life has a purpose. You remain truly gifted as you are entering your adult years and you have added a whole new musical approach to your already amazing abilities. Be safe and love life and use your new freedom to help others deal with their inner beast!
This is just so good! I have been a fan of David Archuleta since the first day I saw him on American Idol. He has definitely grown so much as a singer, musician and songwriter. I really like how he just keeps on going when some artists from American Idol have stopped releasing new music. The music industry is a tough world but I am glad that David Archuleta has that persevering spirit to keep on going. He's passion for music is truly admirable.

Beast was written after a frustrating time of seeing the relationship I was in going downhill because of my own internal battle. I wasn’t really sure why it was going wrong, and was the same pattern of every other relationship I’d ever been in. I was feeling discouraged to see that no matter how I tried and who I was with, and how great they were it always ended by this other side of me coming out and dragging things down. I normally consider myself a pretty cheery person even though I’m shy. But the more close I would get to someone the more anger and suspicion and resentment I would feel, which would then translate into my behavior that would unfold in the relationship. It brings a lot of insecurity making me fear even myself in a relationship.

David, I appreciate the struggles that you are having and the confusion. I know you love God and you want to do right and you want to have a family. Since you’ve had this difficulty since you were a kid and you didn’t have the feelings that you thought you should have, remember everything in our life is in GODS timing. Wait on the Lord. He is directing your path. You’re trying to get direction from therapist and deacons and others, but only God has the answer and if you continue To live the kind of life that HE wants you to, you will get everything you want. I pray for healing for you.🙏❤️🌹
It is because he is gay, but he feels compelled to try to make relationships with women work because he would be kicked out of the Mormon church if he didn't. He has to choose between his attractions and his religious beliefs. And it most definitely does tear you down making you feel like there's something wrong with you! Lying to yourself does that.

I know members have left the church but then they come back to church ..
