  • This video is about slip solutions and window film adhesive and how they can tack prematurely. We are going to cover what causes this and how to avoid it. We are also introducing a new word to the tint industry vocabulary: Prematuretaculation.

    Great Video, loaded with good info. I have been using Tint Slime all winter, now I am running into these problems. Time to switch back to J&J solution. Again, great video.

    I recently did a flat glass installation with an automotive film, tint slime, which usually is my go to slip solution was causing me no end of problems. Even at 30-1 ratio I was getting what I call "early adhesion" I switched back to J&J and went down to 20-1. the windows were very large 5' x 10' and I was using a ton of spray to keep things from tacking early.

    I creased a windshield 5 times yesterday because it was tacking too quick. Thanks for the video.

    Hey Ralph, I started trying to tint windows about two weeks ago for a new business venture here in North Ga. I have been practicing on a 1991 Honda Accord. I have been getting most of my instruction from you and another guy on UA-cam. I wanted to say thank you for all the instructional videos. I have purchased three rolls of Llumar film and have been practicing with those. My trash can is getting fairly expensive especially since I have started trying to tint the back glass. Is there any advice you can give me for that? It seems that I keep breaking the film when I am shrinking. I am going to try the soap method which I have not tried before. I would like to pick your brain when you have time.
    Thanks

    Had a ?? I been using lexen 2 ply color stable. But a job I done today had what look like tiny bubbles in the tint. I cleaned all the windows a few times even razored the window. Do you think its the johnson baby shampoo or the film. It was kind of warm today. But i made the pre-made the solution yesterday. I told the customer I will redo it in a few days, but they want worried about it. They aint notice it but I tint so I did.

    What do you recommend. I cannot stand the smell of Baby shampoo. I use orange basic dish soap. Everyone keeps telling me not to. I think it cleans better and slips better for me.

    I should have included film on in this video. Film On is probably the best possible slip solution in the industry. Film On is a slip solution period. It is not recommended to clean. A separate product is recommended for cleaning called Dirt Off. Most slip solutions are used for cleaning and slip. I do not believe that an "all in one" product is the most professional method to clean and slip for tinters; however, these products sell very well to professionals. Thanks for pointing that out about the film on.

    For a colder weather, what is the best to use bany shampoo or detergent base?

    • @FlexFilmPlus

      It is really your preference. Dish soap is probably more aggressive.

      Ralph Van Pelt hi thanks for the reply. What do you mean by aggresive? Which is more likely to dry first?

    Rusterford, I could give you some pointers. You are probably spending a lot of money on Llumar film when you could be buying it from me. I would be more than happy to help any way I can. You do not have to buy film from me to get my help. Call anytime.

      Taco Conch dawn pulls the color from dyed films. Havent used it on ceramic & it use to stain my 2ply tview tint. I'll stick to johnson & johnson

      Donald Williams you must use garbage film. I've been using Dawn for years without problems. Baby shampoo is overpriced and doesn't clean for shit. It clumps up too in the summer.

    • @tacoconch7678
      @tacoconch7678 4 роки тому +2

      @@ArtPadillaJr I think most tinters use the original blue Dawn like me. I don't think it matters as long as you're not using Dawn with some additive like bleach or something. If that even exists.
