Cukui x Syrarium Studios Art show

This video is about the past art show we had at Cukui featuring the works of Phil Leonard.
About: Phil Leonard, a pin striper based out of Hollister, California. He specializes in custom paint jobs on cars, bikes and motorcycles using oil paints, metal flakes as well as airbrush. As always, we held an art show down at the shop in Japantown to display Phil’s talents. We here at Cukui are big fans of classic car culture and were excited to have Phil’s work displayed on the walls. We haven’t had an artist like this show at the shop, so it brought a little bit of a different feel combining our usual indoor gallery show with some awesome classic cars for people to check out.
Phil definitely brought the heat for his first solo show and, with the help of some friends, was able to display some of his automotive work as well. Inside the shop, displayed on the walls were various pieces that dealt with a variety of different mediums which showed that the pin striper’s skills translated to multiple platforms of art. Pieces of bamboo flooring, aluminum scraps, skateboards as well as a mannequin were just some of the pieces displayed. Phil painted each piece using vibrant colors which popped even more when he added the metal flakes providing that shimmer that catches people’s eye. In addition we also had a little car show displayed on Jackson street with a few of Phil’s friends showing the work that he had done with their cars.
All in all it was another successful art show with a great turnout of people to check out some great art, look at some sweet rides, talk and hang out with us in Japantown.
