Thanks for this. Picking up my Team Red Model 3 tomorrow. I have to take my child to hospital for several visits, and the car parking there requires me to leave keys with the parking attendant, so I am glad to know this feature exists.
Thanks Tom. We recently bought a Model 3 too in Sydney and was wondering if you would do a video on how to wash your Tesla please? Keep up the great content. Thanks!
Hi Tom, when I taking my car in for ceramic coating inside and outside plus tinting, do I still use valet mode? Will they need to access the frunk? Thanks
Great walk through, the UI and app have both changed a lot now but the info is still useful, not sure if any changes have been made since. I agree with the spotify comment. The whole profiles thing is a bit of an issue with the Tesla OS. It should link to profiles. We shouldn't need a car spotify account (or to use your own) it should be each driver. I feel the whole wheel of profiles game has a lot of opportunities.
My local service center drove my car over 20 miles while in service for just a stuck seat problem. I trusted them and didn’t think it necessary to turn on valet mode. I was wrong.
Thanks Tom for another great video. One question: when using Valet Mode, do you also need to leave one of the Tesla "credit cards" with the valet, or will the car function without it or the user's phone?
Thanks Ross - Appreciate you watching my videos. If you have any other questions/comments - feel free to leave them at the appropriate videos and I’ll respond.
Awesome, I learnt a lot from that video! I haven’t played around with valet mode. I was definitely glad to see the AP and NOA aren’t available. Not that I’m leaving my Model 3 with anyone! Interesting about the Spotify account, that totally needs to be fixed!
I can see another use being if you're loaning your car to a family member, you turn on valet mode and that stops them from accelerating fast every time, so it doesn't drain your battery
@@LudicrousFeed I don't own one so I didn't know that, but I like the idea of a car where even if you hand over the card thingy, you still have some level of control of what other people are doing with your car. I would be scared to death if valet mode didn't inhibit the AP and NOA features while in valet mode, since most people expect them to work 100% of the time since they hear so much about them.
@@mikkelstormhansen9733 Yes absolutely, I wouldn’t want my car in the hands of someone who didn’t know how to use it properly. Great to be able to control some of the more advanced features remotely 👍
@@LudicrousFeed I agree, and if Tesla is still this much ahead when I can actually buy a car I'm getting one, until then, I hope that they come out with a more practical hatchback at a lower cost so I can convince my parents to get one for their next car
Almost 2nd of July 2020 and no CyberTruck pre-order video, so guessing you didn't end up ordering one. Up until about 455pm July 1 (Sydney/Melbourne time) FSD was still AU$8,500 but when I checked it now it has gone up to AU$10,100. I think they increased the price at 1159pm 30 June Fremont LA time (459pm our time)
Yes price increase documented in my latest vid. I will hire Cybertruck from car sharing platforms when it arrives to review and if necessity requires it 😊

Valet mode is super handy. Enjoy the delivery! 🥳
@@LudicrousFeed thank you! I’m so excited. I’m getting one of the unicorns!

Congratulations Michael! I’ve been meaning to do a video on washing Model 3 - will look into it. TT
Hi Tom, when I taking my car in for ceramic coating inside and outside plus tinting, do I still use valet mode? Will they need to access the frunk? Thanks
If you’re worried then yes stick it into valet mode - check with your detailer to see which areas they need to access

hi, can I turn on the mode when the car is driving? or I have to wait until the car is stopped
Yes you can switch to Valet mode from the app while the car is in Drive
My local service center drove my car over 20 miles while in service for just a stuck seat problem. I trusted them and didn’t think it necessary to turn on valet mode. I was wrong.
Did you ask them why they drove 20 miles?
Thanks Tom for another great video. One question: when using Valet Mode, do you also need to leave one of the Tesla "credit cards" with the valet, or will the car function without it or the user's phone?
Thanks for the question Ross. You need to hand the key card to the valet to drive.
Thanks again Tom. I am slowly going through your back catalog of UA-cam videos and discovering a lot about the functionality of my new M3.

I learnt a lot too making this vid! I was super thankful that AP/NoA was unavailable along with the reduced acceleration 😅
A great video again Tom. Informative, to the point & really pleasant to watch. Thanks for all your hard work.
Thank you Marco, that is very kind of you to say. 🙂
Why isn’t the first benefit you show regarding Valet mode being that you cannot copy a key card? Surely this is the most important feature?
Thanks for pointing that out 👍

Yup great point! You can also limit their speed from the Tesla App also which can come in very handy 😉👍

How were you doing 89kmh in valet mode when I thought we saw you set 80 max?
I didn’t actually set it. I was just showing you how to do it. 😊
Watching this in 2024 somehow, but man, the app looks dated, and the in-car screen looks dated as well.
@@mitchellvanbijleveld There’ve been a few updates but yes the layout is largely the same
