Right?! And that woman who kept walking towards him?? Towards a frightened bear? My God. Do you want to bring him home for a little cuddle? Their behaviour could have even caused the bear to turn and attack an unexpecting person coming around the corner. The poor thing was clearly terrified. And now he's likely dead. Their actions would not be the deciding factor, to euthanize him, but it sure as heck didn't help.😔
What certainly surprised me's that none of them was carrying a bell at all! Bell or even Bear Bell will warn Bears of such presence as seen on the video. Time to go buy a Bear Bell !!!!!!!!
@@terrygardiner160 actually Terry, not sure where you live but so you know, this park is very much a larger city park, surrounded by towering buildings, heavy road traffic, an above ground skytrain (our "subway", which is what he hears and what was scaring him). It will be interesting to see if anyone knows how he might have found his way there. Bear bells would not be something people would bring to a city park. The most intimidating thing you are likely to encounter would be a generally harmless coyote. This bear, is totally out of left field!
It seems pretty well fed. It is very calm too. Demonstrating some quietless, only when train passes. One of the moments you captured it BBBB - big black beautiful bear - is chewing. I've heard they feed themselves with berries and not only small mammals... wich probably there is plenty there. Well, glad you were/are safe. Hope BBBB is too and finds its way back into the wild 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Cheers from Brasil 💚
I was there in the same day with my brazilian friends(Im brazilian too), but we didnt see nothing! 😅Burnaby It is not a place where we would expect to find bears. I hope everything will be ok with him.🙏❤
****** I do HOPE that the conservation officers will relocate him up in the mountains and not KILL him as it was recently reported how many bears are killed every year in BC. I am very heartbroken 💔 that the conservation officers decide to do this!
*I've read updated news articles that they have put the bear down... that's too bad. I'm not a bear expert, but I'm not sure why they couldn't have captured it and released it appropriately back into the wild... where it probably came from in the first place.*
I missed it as I was in Ontario. Too bad they put it down! They definitely could have relocated it. It wasn't attacking people or being aggressive towards people!
You got better shots of the bear. It was at the lower pond & pitch and putt when I spotted it. Oddly sent a pic to news1130am but they didn't report it. did you see or hear what happened in the end?
My biggest question is WHY are city municipalities ALLOWED to NOT DO their jobs and REMOVE wild animals from within the city limits? For a minimum of $90,000.00 a year salary they should be doing something since it is one of the city services your property taxes PAY for! There's ENOUGH stress and few places to workout and relax without having to deal with wild animals such as bears or cougars!!!🤬
That was the worst thing to do for both the woman and the person taking the video - following the bear! You both had every opportunity to walk in the opposite direction and give the bear space a way to exit, like the guy with the bicycle at the 0:55 mark.
Thanks for the video is very well commented 👍 humanis must based on respect for wildlife ❤️❤️❤️ Dzięki za filmik jest bardzo dobrze skomentowany👍 ludzie muszą opierać się na szacunku dla dzikiej przyrody❤️❤️❤️
Posting videos like this attract people to go and see the bear. More people = more problems. Now the bear is dead. If you feel the need to show videos of these beautiful creatures, please don't advertise their location. Give them a chance.

Looks like their taking care of business. The tranquilizer is out on the Hunt.

😔
I’m more concerned about the ignorance of the people in this video than I am of the bear.
What did they do wrong tho 🥺
Everything.

I love bears. In fact, I love all kinds of wildlife. I pray that bears, raccoons, squirrels, etc. will live safely and happily with mankind.

He's scared of Skytrain. It means he normally doesn't live in that area. I wonder where he's from. Once, a bear was spotted in Gastown too.
Wow, this is close to home. Thanks for posting!
Saw it yesterday around 230-3pm entering the golf course
We sadly know how this is gonna end...ugh

back in the day I would walk that path every day to get to my bus stop... I would see coyotes and the odd crack head but I never saw a black bear...
The bears ate the Crack heads? 🧐 🤣
These people are not afraid enough of this bear.

Oh guy, I spotted 2 at dear lake trail in winter

THX. No I didn't I just left and continued with my Bike Ride.
@@sebastianplusa thanks for the reply, hope more info comes in, pretty rare to see in Central park.
it ate a baby goose
It was reported on Global news Saturday
They don’t report it because then they get killed . You guys are idiots . Leave the bears alone

Yes, I'm afraid it was in the news that he was put down. 😔
Fact: A Grizzly bear can outrun Usain Bolt.
I hope someone called in to report this bear.... 👍🏼 stay safe everyone!

I am confused, how does this bear even end up there? The park is located smack in the centre of the city.
A few lives there for years
“Black bear caught on video in Burnaby's Central Park killed by conservation officers”
Did anyone call animal control?? The bear is in danger in that area, they could tranquilize him and take him somewhere safer...
Bro I saw a bear in lougheed last month😂
