Aloha and Thank You For Watching! I always appreciate your love and support and wish you The Best Aloha Blessings for this year. If you want some Lahaina Strong and Maui products, go to my Etsy store at: www.etsy.com/shop/coffeecupsart Come See Us On Maui!
That banyan tree sure is strong. It’s like the heart of Lahaina that kept Lahaina alive. Without it, Lahaina will forever be vanished. So, let’s keep up the great work and help put Lahaina back on the map.
Aloha and Thank You, Super. So appreciate your message and love for the Banyan Tree. We're moving forward and will revive Lahaina Town in the near future. Come to Maui when you can and stay safe, sound, salty and sane. See You On Maui!! Best Aloha Wishes.
I bet. WEF buried a few victims near it.
Always support local and buy local....help out Maui businesses!! They need your support and help.
Aloha Mike and Thank You for your message. We appreciate you and your support for the people of Maui and the businesses of Maui County. Hope you get to Maui soon and Best Aloha Wishes to you and your family.
Hi Steve, hang in there buddy., great update.
Aloha & Thank You "J". So good to see you and wishing you the very best always. Stay Sane!!
aloha and wow, I have such good memories of Lahaina, I lived there for a couple years. I always wanted to return, and I miss it. Glad to see some recovery already happening.
I can't wait till they rebuild downtown Lahaina!
Aloha and Thank You. It will take years, I'm afraid. The residential areas will be re-built before the commercial areas along Front Street are re-built. It will look much different, of course. Some projections are 5 years out and longer. So, we shall see as time flies by. Stay Tuned. Best Aloha Wishes.
I was one of the 6 Detective/Sergeants who worked Lahaina District in the 1990s.(This is my wife's account hence name is different. I'm Rick) It absolutely breaks my heart to see this. So many memories / wonderful emotions.. We moved off Maui in 2001.I have to come back to see it one day., when my emotions have settled. My prayers to all the people, their relatives, and friends who suffered. 3 people I knew are gone.😭. The good old Banyan tree will recover. Just needs some love and care. I want to say it was planted in 1901 ?
I wish the girls best luck in their massage business. I use to go to a massage spa, in a private house right off Piilani Highway in Kihei. It had first floor massage rooms and upstairs a steam room where you could have a massage inside the steam room. It had a sun deck with a cold water dunk tank. I really miss that place have not found anything similar. I wonder if it's still there?. Keep up the good work . Aloha
Aloha Rick and Many Thanks for your comments. Much appreciated! We, too, lost several friends in the fire and barely survived it also. I am fairly sure there is no Spa in Kihei that has what you mentioned. I wonder if it would even be allowed by the local Health People. I'd love to go to a cold water dunk tank. Times have certainly changed. Come to Maui when you can and Best Aloha Wishes & Blessing Always.
My heart aches for you all. Thank you for the update.
Aloha Coach. Thank You very much for your support and love. Maui needs you and you are much appreciated. Wishing you the Best Aloha Always.
So great to see the banyan tree recovering. Thank you for sharing!
Aloha and Thank You. I'm thinking of doing just a Banyan Tree Update video, to show you all of the Banyan Tree and the surrounding area. Stay Tuned. Best Wishes.
I spent time under the Banyan tree when I visited Maui a few years ago (and briefly met you!), and seeing it green with leaves brings me so much joy. Thank you for sharing this! I look forward to returning to Maui!
Aloha and Thank You. Wow, glad that I got to meet you. I hope you get back to Maui soon and wish you the best. I will do a Banyan Tree Update soon. Stay safe and salty.
Hi Steve, Patricia and Coco. Thank you for the update. Glad to see you're doing good.
Aloha Catherine. Thank you and it's good to see you. We're fine but waiting to see if we are going to be able to stay on the island. It's not a sure-thing at the moment. We Shall See. Stay safe and sound and smart. Best Aloha Wishes.
@@MauiTravelVideos Oh no, when will you know and where will you go? Thanks.
The incredible black WEF fence....enjoy your martinis and ashes.
Thanks for the update Steve. I hope to get to Maui sooner than later!
Aloha Raymond and it's good to see you. I hope you get here much much sooner than later. The island would love to have you and your FAM when you can get here. Stay safe and sound and sane and don't work insane hours. Best Aloha Wishes Always.
So nice to see you and Patricia Steve, the clean up is coming along nicely, any sign of new construction yet? Hopefully soon. After a long plane ride, the first thing I do on the island is get a massage, thanks for the tip about blue hawaii spa, will give them a try when I'm in town, take care and stay well, God bless Maui
Aloha Phil and Thank You. Always good to see you. Not ready for construction as it will take-up vital resources and traffic space, etc. that is needed to remove the debris. By the end-of-the-year, I think we'll see some construction. What we still don't know, is the condition of the water system. The electricity is back to most of Lahaina town, but I'm not sure about the water. Stay safe and sound and sane. Best Wishes Always.
Hi Steve, I see! Local bussiness got really hard time after Fire! till now please support them! I will too . Good to see you Steve Thank you!!
Aloha and Thank You. Yes, all businesses in Lahaina Town are gone and really the whole island has suffered some, even in Kihei and Wailea. So the fire affected the whole island, but especially West Maui. Thanks for watching and Best Aloha Wishes.
Seems like such a long road Steve.
Aloha
Aloha and Thank You. Absolutely, it will be a long road ahead for the Lahaina Town area. The residential housing will return before the commercial area even starts. Much to be decided. Stay safe and Best Aloha Wishes.
Thanks for another great update. Good to see the work going on, it will never be the same but the future looks bright. Will be returning in 3 weeks for our 34th visit. Can visitors drive through front street yet? We left just before the fire. Will be there 4 weeks hope we bump into you. Wishing your family the best results out of this tragedy. ALOHA.
Aloha Jonathan. Glad you are coming back to Maui. No, tourists/visitors can not enter the "Burn Zone". It's for the best. The streets are busy with workers and it's getting very difficult to navigate around their efforts. I work at the Outrigger Kaanapali Beach Resort as the Security Officer. Hope to bump into you and your family. Safe Travels and Enjoy Maui Soon!!
Thanks. Great video. ❤
Find the local man named Kihe he was with Maui Surf and Culture. He has helping clean up since august. You should interview him. Such a gracious local fisherman and ambassador for aloha. We think of Latina everyday god bless you.....aloha from SEATTLE washington
My Maui Kama'Aina. Mahalo for not letting this tragedy die into oblivion. 😅
this gives me hope my home will be okay
It is hard to say, when we will see a real recovery of beautiful Lahaina. It all depends on the political future and much more tourism. Fact is, that only vacationers with some amount of money can realize a speedy development. So sad to realize, that all the historical culture is gone. Anyway, thank you for the update 😊❤.
I will be there in August, I will definitely go to the market! Steve, are there places that visitors can volunteer at? I want to do some volunteering when I am there. Mahalo!
Aloha and Thank You. The island of Maui would love to have you in August. I'm not sure there will be many places to volunteer your time and efforts. I know Maui Humane Society is always looking for help and they have received too many displaced animals. Many of the "hubs" have closed and there's not as many opportunities. But thank you most kindly for your support and thoughts. We still look forward to you coming. Best Wishes and Travel Safe.
How did you get permission to go into the burn zone? I'm a resident of Maui and I would like to go into the burn zone to make a video
So meme……..you don’t visit your land…….YOU GOT A PIANO TIED TO YOUR ASS??????? OH……YOU’RE AN ISLANDER……YOU PRAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aloha. Well, to start -- we were residents of Lahaina Town, living in the apartment building just behind Fleetwood's and next to the "Free Lot" if you know Lahaina Town. So we applied and received a Placard, that we show to security to get inside the Burn Zone. We lost everything. Best aloha wishes.
Are you sure you want to do that? In homes there are a lot of toxic chemicals. Just think most people have bleach, ammonia, bug sprays., other cleaning products. In your garage paints, maybe a propane container some things for your car. Used engine oil is a highly toxic chemical. So I'd suggest its better to wait till everything is cleared and the ground scraped...
