Brilliant sticks these are,I made these two years ago and got countless shots that wouldn’t have been possible without them and rock steady 👍🏻
What kind of Bolts did you use to join the sticks together, I could not see them so good in his video, Thanks for sharing MD Etc
Thank you soo much. Just made these yesterday and have already hit targets standing at 645 yards. Great addition to bipod. All in all cost 6 quid a stick in Homebase, £4.50 nuts bolts washers. Had para cord laying about. Just getting the bike grips and done. So great for £40 odd quid and 30 / 40 min build time
Very nice instruction, thank you. I made a set to be used for Oryx hunting in New Mexico, USA terrain that often requires a long range standing shot. Enjoyed your humor and to the point video.
You have Oryx in NM?
@@borkwoof696 Yes we do. Oryx were introduced to southern NM in the early 1970s. So they are not native to NM but were brought in from Africa.
@@stevel5580 and I had a semester at UNM planned for August. Thanks Rona🙄
As well as the informational part of this I think that this is a thoroughly enjoyable clip; excellent Mr Gilchrist!
Great Idea.. Thank you for sharing this with us.
I think this is a nice idea... From the Pennsylvania Wilds in the U.S.
Drill 1/4” holes use parachute cord with knots on each end
great video. proving difficult to get the poles however. any thoughts greatly appreciated
found them on ebay but wont ship to ireland. i might try bamboo... but i think its a longshot...
I made one today, just to pass a bit of time really, it cost me €11.00 but in fairness I'm pleasantly surprised. Only took about 45 minutes.
The red baler twine didn’t compliment the lovely work you did at the start! But a good steady bit of kit !
AT first I was thinking why build your own when you can get some reliable sticks for a reasonable price.. but these are unique and haven't seen this type before. Probably try making these. Thanks mate.
I’m having a go at these with bamboo
@FamasFTW98
No, these are completely different to huntersvermin's poles. These use 4 poles to create a double rest.
Did you even watch the video?
a mate of mine made one.... very good job so it is
Cool DIY.
ok mate i prefer a standing or lying shot just suits me better than sticks if i need a supported shot and there is nothing to lean on i wedge my elbow into my hip like a gun rest i have really long arms
Same with me, I don't use this type of shooting a stick. I use Huntersvermin ones when lamping or a bipod in the day.
Ingenious 👍
Yes I agree with others,..these are simple and very useful,..nice job Mark.
To play on a theme.... I do hope your father was not Mark as well,..as then you'd be 'Mark II' .......oh I just couldn't resist.
I miss Mark being on FSC
They're a different type of pole. These are double sticks, so the back and front of the gun is rested.
3:39 door slams on sticks
Cheap simple effective 👍
Nice vid. Huntervermin makes a nice bipod. Your quad stick is interesting. As a 2nd gen Yank refugee from mum England, I don't always understand your words. How about some yank subtitles. Thanks
Thanks for all the inches and feet!
ok not to sound condersending to people that use this type of rest but, why would you want to lug something that awkward aroung it look hard and annoying to carry, i dont use a rest of anykind apart from a bi pod rarely while im "stalking" but if i was to build a rest for standing hight personally id just use a single pole with a divet or curve at the top to rest the rifle in, that way east to carry heaps of support and 360 spin in animal runs, sorry these just seem over thought and annoying
Not exactly a new idea I first posted on a number of forums back in 2008 instructions on how to build yourself a set of quad sticks.
That looks like an absolute faff on. go over and watch Huntersvermin, much easier!
huntersvermin poles are so much better cheaper, lighter, compact and generally better
yasss agreement
cheaper then around 8quid total cost... yeah right mate
great idea, I like them....but...it think that it would be something that i would be fumbling with until i got the hang of them! I'd have to make them shorter for myself as i sit down on the ground for coyote hunting!
@eat4peace kind of lol
@eat4peace u cant really copy a bi pod its a bi pod its been around for ever
These are quad sticks. Manufactured ones are $500 US.
two sticks and a (purset?) knot and youre done.
By eck mark see you have'nt been watching your blue peter for some time. lol
not necessary to use four pieces, two is plenty. your project is very cobbled together, 2 thumbs down.
