One could spend that Springbank 30 money on 4 - 5 really nice bottles and the sum total of those experiences I think would exceed what you're getting from that single bottle...
However, sharing it out with the community is the best thing to do with these unicorns. Respect for whomever donated the heel!
That's some real generosity there.
Generosity at its finest for sure. Cheers buddy.
Yeah I'm thinking the Local Barley 10yr sherry was a better bargain at retail all day lol. No way would I pay that much for this bottle. I'm glad you guys got to try it and give us all a review though. Cheers 6'er Social Club!
Fun stream guys. Good to hear your through on SB30 - it’s a beautiful dram. I was fortunate to be able to taste it at cask strength during the 2021 Whisky Show in London. I thought it was stunning, but I was able to try it side by side with the Millennium SB30 from a few years ago. The Millennium is truly a legend (old school SB funk which is so hard to find these days) and a step up from the new 30 for me. The prices are ridiculous sadly so the only chance to try these for most of us is at special tastings. Cheers!
I know that donut yeast taste first hand, Grandmother made homemade donuts on the farm going back 50 yrs ago and although I was young can still remember that amazing yeast taste and the perfect not too sweetness of them warm out of the oven, can't imagine getting that in a whiskey, wonderful, Cheers.
Pretty much exact experience for me. Cheers buddy.
Great review guys! I enjoyed the SB30 (cracked Bon Accord's bottle in Glasgow in June) and agree with the notes you guys gave. I was a little disappointed with it due to cost. However, I was drinking it alongside some other fantastic bottles.
Great to see this opened It is the only Springbank i don't have Great review
Cheers buddy
Will you get a bottle Gav?
Thanks for sharing your experience with this historic offering and putting it in perspective.
Cheers 🥃
Cheers
Happy for you, gents!
Thanks buddy cheers
This is great and fair information.
Nice guys. I had this in my hands, but the retail price of 2,500 here in the states was just more than I could....well lets be real. I was trying to find a way to make the numbers work. 2,500 a month after I just bought the 25 year was just not something I couldn't do. So glad we're getting some reviews online of this one.
Ya there’s no way I would have paid for this one. Way beyond my budget. Very grateful for the people in this community.
where in US?
That is where you go bottle split with a bunch of us nerds.
Great review and loved the back and forth on your impression of this SB expression. I think one thing we need to also look back on is points for the memory and the awesome whisky community! I just shared samples and a Zoom call with the owner of the SB30 and it was a great evening talking about the drams and sharing our collections! Cheers!🥃
Cheers
Great review guys!
Cheers gentlemen hopefully it didn't hurt too bad
Indeed a happy occasion to try something like this. Nice review.
Cheers
It is good that you give such consideration and discussion to price as, for consumers, it is a huge factor in purchases. I never understood reviewers who “don’t factor in price” as it’s a completely unrealistic way to see the product. It’s very hard to justify buying Springbank personally, I think there’s equally great products out there (in terms of a score) for a fraction of the cost. Springbank is great quality, but it’s going the way of Macallan in terms of how much it is charging for its product.
ha, Jack Daniel😂it's a good one
Happy you guys got to try this beauty! Cheers 🥃
Thanks buddy
These retail at £800 when it was I released In Scotland.
I managed to get one at retail.
Fun ! ........... Spend 4,000 to get 600$-worth of sherry Scotch (since 85% of bourbon dont count) . . . Swag in 6. Paint on a Drake's goatee. Black Pisano success shirt. . . 37:06*minutes of pure glory basking, knowing it and rub it in . . . but ... BUT ... BUT, no shameless plug on smoking cigars - ALRIGHT ! double-plus good ! . . . Happy 2023 Teach !
Lol we didn’t spend anything. Just very generous friends.
"Extremely destroyable" 😆 Great way to convey "crushability." Great Rant review gentlemen! Thanks for getting a review of this out into the community. We all appreciate it and are extremely jealous. Cheers!🥃
Lol cheers buddy
Price in the US is right about $5000 on the shelf. At least one on line source says the 10 is 60% Ex-Bourbon, 40% Sherry. Deep fried donut like a fastnacht??
Like a homemade style.
Epic!
Sounds delicious. Just to much money for a bottle for me. Great review.
Springbank 10 thru 15 are the only ones really close to being worth their money. the 12 CS is their best bang for the buck and not even close with other Springbank. It's so much of a suckers market now and less than 20 years ago all 25 to 30 year whiskies were all under $500. Bourbon is just as bad. I was getting 15 year high ABV bourbon a few years ago for $45 to $60 and now it's at least. $150 to $300. Springbank 10 was $55 about 4 years ago and now it's $100. Kilkerran 12 was $55 also and now $100
Leading off with a hitter.
Very lucky.
Those glasses do look similar to Horst Leunings glassware but unfortunately he doesn't sell to the United States. Could you possibly post a link where to buy these glasses your using here?.........Cheers!
Believe it or not jeremy bought these at the dollar store in Toronto.
Rob, I wonder will u still score that
mortlach from G&M 95 base on ur today standard, just simply curiousity😃
I wonder the same.
This costs the same as the 50 budget bottles I have
US price breakdown 2023
30 year 2023 $2500
25 year (Gold/Black box) $965
15 year 2023 $149
12 year cask $99
Simple math tells you that you could buy 2/25's, 2/15's and 2/12 cask for the same money as the 30. It's just way too big of a step up in price. 6 bottles of great whiskey versus only 10 pours at $250 per shot. Remember, it's a 700ml bottle
I thought this was over oaked. YMMV. Then again my favorite is the 15 year old...
Interesting
Buen tragó
Excellent
Total guess but 85% bourbon would be 6 bourbon barrels and 15% Sherry would be 1 Sherry barrel (roughly speaking). Perhaps my maths is too simplistic but maybe that's where the make up of this release comes from? (could also be utter nonsense on my part. Always a possibility)
Makes sense

Rum and Brandy are the best value now because their is no overt hype train driving it to price gouging extremes. All of whisky is just striking while the iron is hot and milking it for everything they can with excuses backstories BS to attempt to justify prices.
Wow , lucky guys ,,, 6000£ a bottle online here in Scotland
It’s insane. Could never afford this retail. Way out of my league.
not ture! avg 2600-2800£ from Auction.
Any spirit costing more than 1000$ is totally overpriced no matter the type of bottle and box is coming with...
Not sure I can agree with that. What 50+ years in a cask worth?
