I really don't think people find pugs having trouble to breathe is cute. I have a pug, and yes it has breathing issues, which I don't find cute. The reason I find pugs cute is because of their caring and loving nature, which is the same reason me and many others get a pug.
@@darrenhatfield4578 why would people do that? To make their lives more comfortable perhaps? I don't know, just something out of the plain fucking obvious
I had a pug/Jack Russell mix. Where ever I went she went. Where ever I sat or laid down she was there. I lost here because she had a stroke. She really helped me out when I came home from Iraq. She knew how to work those puppy d0g eyes. She was about 15 years old. Really good dog
Pugs are one of the most loving dogs ever, great with kids. They just love their people and do not get very attached with just one person, they learn to love the whole family. Happy pug mom for 12 years! And if you walk them on a harness, feed them right and take them to their regulat vet checkups, they are one of the healthiest breeds. Only downside is the shedding but they dont cause any allergies so we are good!
I was born with a dog, I grew up with dogs and will do the same with my future wife and children ... My parents have always created larger breeds like Dobermans, Pitbulls, Irish Setter, and Rotweillers ... How we suffered a bankruptcy and moved from farm to town in our apartment, the best acquisition was the Bandit, a unique and spectacular Pug... As a dog says he wins all the others we've had, he is smart, loving, and companion!!! Dogs are the unique and real friend of man!!!
Bho Check Not all pugs have breeding problems - ask the breeder. Mine is fine in hot and cold weather, just don't leave them outside or let them drink ice cold water etc.
+Laurence Herring You know that they don't squish the dog's snout, right? The breeding of this dogs is made by choosing the ones with the most squashed noses and breeding them...
I know people say it’s bad to like them for it’s face but there sooooo cute! I love how there personalities intertwine with mine! I’m not very good in hot sun and I like to sit around and chill out.. I would love to have a pug to be my best friend , I honestly think we would be a great match!
If you are set on getting a pug, consider getting a retro pug (healthier version, but still has their cute personality), or adopt a pug, after all, they are not going anywhere. You can still enjoy the breed without supporting its breeding yourself!
I've had 2 pugs, both boys and both adorable and loving! Our fawn died years ago and our black pug had to be put down this March at only 3 years old! I miss them terribly.... 😔😔😔😔😔
He literally just randomly one day couldn't walk, he'd just lay there and wouldn't eat or go outside. We took him to the vet several times, ran every rest they had, were all normal. So, my parents made the hard decision to put him down.
Jasmin Lawrence it could have been PDE! it happens to puggies between the ages of 2-3. it is a problem that occurs in the brain and once they have it there is nothing that can be done for theme it kills them slowly, usually over 2weeks to 3 months.
me it's the reverse (plus i'm allergic to cats too.... that didn't help) but now i try to be cool around cats (even if inside i can't forget the fact that i almost lost both of my eyes because of a cat)
We always had pugs, until one day I came home from my job with a half pug half chihuahua. Never seen a cuter dog in my life, even a decade later still acts and looks like a puppy.
aiden renova whoa calm down you sound like you just got butthurt already i know they have but pugs are caring for others i have a pug and he cares about me
My pug is the happiest and healthiest dog I’ve ever owned. She doesn’t seem to have the breathing issues a lot of pugs suffer with , occasionally you can hear her breathing but most of the time she breathes comfortably and barely even snores . She’s also really energetic and athletic , it’s such a shame that so many owners allow their pugs to get overweight because mine is so happy and fit and has the best temperament
Me too as well, my baby doesn't have the mushed in snouts like full bred pugs & are a little shorter, also doesn't have deep wrinkles but you can definitely see the pug in him.
@@anishaflynn7729 the problem is that these dogs were inbred which causes them problem. Just because you want to keep your 'bloodline pure' it does not mean you should marry your 1st cousin ight.
There are a lot of silly comments on here, and as a Pug breeder for going on 40 years, I feel like I need to address them, Pugs, like all dogs, can have health issues. The whole Eye-popping thing though is not entirely true. they do not just "Pop" out for no good reason, and would take considerable force or a unique birth defect/genetic trait to do so. Most breeders would work overly large eyes out of their blood line fast, if not never have the problem to begin with. The most dangerous thing for a pug's eyes is actually it's fifth claw or Du-claw. if it is not removed shortly after birth, it will remain and can cause severe eye damage later in life via accidental scratches. Breathing issues again actually fall into birth defect zone. A properly bred line will NOT suffer from issues that would EVER require surgery. They of course do not handle high heat well, but should never be exposed to it for long periods anyway. They are hose pets, not outside dogs. As for another user that posted about Hygiene and yeast infections, it's the food and treats you are feeding. Over the past 40 years, we have learned a lot about pugs and how touchy their diets are. Too much sugar and fatty foods/low quality kibble can easily cause them to get yeast infections very frequently as crystals will form rapidly. Pugs are wonderful family pets, and truly do not take any extra care or attention to maintain. The wrinkles are easily cleaned with a wash rag when you give the a bath. No real extra work required. If you want to keep them dry, Baking soda is the best bet. A bit of baking soda on a dry rag, and rub it in the wrinkle. it will help keep it dry and germ free, and wont hurt the dog. (Re-enact Scarface if you must =p ) I hope a few comments from people with less experience owning pugs, does not affect the odds of you making your own personal experiences with the little charmers. =)
I see a lot of comments saying like "why not get a healthy dog" and stuff like that, I mean they are great dogs. Their health may not be the best but still they are loyal little dogs. I also saw some comments saying "Their breathing is so annoying why get that dog" And all that stuff. THEY ARE JUST BREATHING. like really people it may be loud and they may drool a lot, But its just breathing and drooling. We all do that too! I love pugs healthy or not.
Pugs are like an xbox ... they need to cool down or they l get the red ring of death .... and when the eyes pop out it means you moved the xbox while the dvd was running ... and it shreds the disc.
I always wanted a pug growing up ever since the first time I laid eyes on our neighbors pug. My parents weren’t spending several hundred dollars on a family dog so I never got one. When me and my wife finally moved into our house we had promised the kid we would get a dog and he wanted a pug much to my surprise. We found an older rescue pug and fell in love with him from day one. His personality and his quirks made me smile no matter how shitty I was feeling and every minute I was home he had to be by my side. As he got older and moving up and down the stairs became too tough I had to carry him with me or he would bark and Yelp, even if I just ran downstairs to grab a drink or something. We have 6 other pets, 5 cats and another dog, and we were all just occupying Frankys world. He definitely ran the show. He passed away a few months ago. He had a rough life until we got ahold of him, animal control pulled him from his first home because of mistreatment. We only had a few years with him and I’m glad we got to spend that time spoiling the fuck out of him. He definitely earned it. We are getting a pug puppy at the end of July, we met him yesterday but he won’t be old enough to take home for another few weeks. I hope he’s at least half as good a dog as Franky.
OMG I ALSO LOVE TO GET A SUFFERING ANIMAL THAT CANT BREATH, HAS BACK PROBLEMS, IT EYES POP OUT ITS HEAD AND LIVES IN AGONIZING PAIN MOST OF ITS LIFE JUST FOR CRUL HUMAN AMUSEMENT
I’ve owned my pug for three years, I got him when he was six weeks old. He’s such a family dog, always lays in my lap and wants kisses. He eats steak for dinner everyday in his dog food. He likes walks, he hasn’t had any problems with breathing or his eyes. He has ear infections sometimes, which are easily dealt with. He’s super active and loves to run.
Roastie Toaster not true, if a pug comes from an fci dog kennel it’s most likely to be healthy. my pug only has a bit of breathing problems when it’s really hot. beside this he’s a really happy and cheerful. and in spite of what is the common opinion, that pugs are extremely lazy and sleep all day, they love walks and physical activity. the point is the owners tend to overfeed them and then they get fat, their joints get destroyed and they have no energy to play.
Love my pug! Only 5 months old but learning quickly all the things. Keeping face and wrinkles clean is so important and keeping eating and water bowls clean, too. Such a friendly breed. Lots of shedding all over the place, invest in a robot vacuum lol our puppy was $2500 not counting vet care.
Looked up this video with my 7 year old who mentioned she may want a pug. We were both horrified they were intentionally bred to not be able to breath, have their eyeballs pop out and be susceptible to heat stroke and a slew of other health issues so they would look "cute" for humans. Horrifying. smh
I have two male pugs both from rescues. One of them, Baby, (he was called Baby Huey but we just abbreviated it) has a mushed in face like the ones you see here and the other, Sammy, has more of a snout. If you go to a rescue like I did you can find one with more of a snout or maybe even a mix. If you want a puppy or can't find a pug rescue, then be VERY careful which breeder you pick. Of coarse, that goes with any dog, but especially with pugs. Make sure the breeder is certified and experienced, has the breeding dogs in good condition, clean breeding area, and the puppies are up to date on shots and anything medical. That makes the health problems minimum. The wrinkles aren't much to handle. As long as you clean them every couple of days, don't go on any extreme walks and bring a collapsible bowl with water when you go for a longer walk (or in the summer. Never go on any huge walks during the summer and make sure to bring plenty of water) they shouldn't get heat stroke. As for the eye thing, don't worry about it at all. Make sure to get a harness instead of a collar and don't pull the wrinkles too much will cleaning. Dogs aren't plushies, so don't squeeze them like they are one. If you catch you or someone else doing so, stop them immediately. This doesn't mean you can't hug them, but I read an article saying dogs are uncomfortable in hugs. If toy want to hug that adorable little face, make sure it's not too tight or long. A pug should win the heart of any 7 year old. They are the greatest companions in the world. I hope this somewhat helped and made things a bit less horrifying for you and your daughter :)
You could get a “puggle”, which is a pug that’s bred with a beagle. They have the same coloring as pugs, but have snouts as opposed to the mushed faces that a typical pug would have.
My little brother for months begged for a pug and so my mom got him a little black pug with a little white spot on his chest and he was so tiny when we first brought him home but now he's gotten bigger and he's around 6 months he is one of the sweetest dogs I've ever seen in my life he is so kind and playful and affectionate and very hyper too
that only happens to pugs! so other kinds of dogs are nice like 1.a border collie 2.Chihuahuas 3.Poodle! 4.Labradors 5.or Doge! Or even more but cats can be good too
They failed to mention the reason pugs eyes bulge out is because humans have bred them so small that their skulls are too small for their brains so their brains are literally pushing their eyes out of their heads. They are a ridiculously unhealthy breed. It's better just to get a mutt than a pedigree.
It shocks me how people always say, "Oh, this dog is so cute, I want it". But they never look at their health needs or other needs such as what their future living environment will be like when adopting a pet. Do they need a home with a yard or an apartment, etc? The first question I ask is it a healthy breed and not say, "Oh, it's so cute and I don't care if it has health issues". A pet owner has to look at their finances before purchasing or adopting a pet. Is the dog breed healthy is the first thing I look at. But it's stupidity to say, "Oh, it's so cute and I don't want to check into this breeds issues". If a person really cares about a future pet they will check into it's other needs instead of how cute they are. It's called, 'Pet Owner Responsibility'. You will care about their health and other issues when the Vet bill is totaled. Stupid, stupid, people. A lot of pets are euthanized because of stupid people who do not do their research when obtaining a pet. Ask questions such as what will their future home environment be, what are their health needs, will they get along with all family members and other pets? Some questions to ask yourself.
I've had my pug for two years now, and it's never happened to her. Just be cautious with the neck and you'll be fine. Also, ALWAYS leash them by a harness.
always use a harness for two reasons: 1: the eye popping thing and 2: since their necks are as thick as their heads they can basically take a collar off by walking backwards
I felt like I was running out of breath just listening to the pugs trying to breath.

Grooby_ They shouldn’t be bred in the first place.
Getting my pug was the greatest decision in my life
Watched this when I was really young.
I love my pug ❤️❤️
I can't watch this video without smiling.
"You're the most beautiful dog, they call you Jabba the Hutt. Jabba the Hutt. For a Reason".
I wanna hug every last pug I saw on this video.
Video: almost the perfect family pet
*Also video: sometimes their eyes can pop out*
Pugs aren't ugly, they're pugly. That's a good thing
It's cruel the breeding of pugs. Deliberately giving them a squashed nose, and thus the breathing problems, is horrible.
It's cruel raising these over sensitive losers...
Agree. I wanted to have one but Im REALLY bothered by this.
Francisco Grilo yeah I did realise
I know people say it’s bad to like them for it’s face but there sooooo cute! I love how there personalities intertwine with mine! I’m not very good in hot sun and I like to sit around and chill out.. I would love to have a pug to be my best friend , I honestly think we would be a great match!
i have one and when people look at her they she is ugly BUT SHE IS NOT there so cute and there such a nice type of dog too get
If you are set on getting a pug, consider getting a retro pug (healthier version, but still has their cute personality), or adopt a pug, after all, they are not going anywhere. You can still enjoy the breed without supporting its breeding yourself!
That eye thing happened to pewdiepie's dog
It did????
No it didn't
Yeah it did because when Maya the tan pug was a puppy a cat clawed at her eye.
I'm replying zak about the video, the eye bulging thing never happened to her.
oh i thought he meant the cat clawed her eye. oh he was talking about the Bulging eye thing. oh no that didn't happen it was a cat.
I just did a Google Image search for dog proptosis. Well, there's another little bit of my soul gone forever.
I've had 2 pugs, both boys and both adorable and loving! Our fawn died years ago and our black pug had to be put down this March at only 3 years old! I miss them terribly.... 😔😔😔😔😔
Oh im so sorry 😰
Thanks :)
Sorry if this intrudes but: Why did you have to put down your black pug at 3 years old?
He literally just randomly one day couldn't walk, he'd just lay there and wouldn't eat or go outside. We took him to the vet several times, ran every rest they had, were all normal. So, my parents made the hard decision to put him down.
Jasmin Lawrence it could have been PDE! it happens to puggies between the ages of 2-3. it is a problem that occurs in the brain and once they have it there is nothing that can be done for theme it kills them slowly, usually over 2weeks to 3 months.
I love pugs anytime I see a pug I cry with joy
I love cats and im not fond of dogs since i have a lot of bad experience with dogs when i was a child. But damn i want a pug!!!!
They're the sweetest dogs in the world. You should totally get one! :)
yeah im planning to get one but im thinking how it will work out with my two 5 year old cats in our house my xD

MaddDraws sweet but absolutely crazy...in a good way :D
me it's the reverse (plus i'm allergic to cats too.... that didn't help) but now i try to be cool around cats (even if inside i can't forget the fact that i almost lost both of my eyes because of a cat)
We always had pugs, until one day I came home from my job with a half pug half chihuahua. Never seen a cuter dog in my life, even a decade later still acts and looks like a puppy.
My Auntie has a half pug and chihuahua too!! Her body is a pug but her face is a chihuahua! She's 14yrs old now but yet still such a happy dog! 😍

Hehe, he sits like peanut does. So cute!
I LOVE PUGS
I WANT ONE
This was very informational! My sister and her husband have adopted a pug. I’ll make sure to take care of little Wookiee :3
I have a chug (chihuahua and pug mixed) she's 16 and still full of energy 😂
Me too as well, my baby doesn't have the mushed in snouts like full bred pugs & are a little shorter, also doesn't have deep wrinkles but you can definitely see the pug in him.
8 months later and it's still true, actually, her 17th birthday is in a few weeks :)
Another chug owner here. but we call her a pughuahua.
Gluttony aw that's so cute, pughuahua 😂😂
just in case anyone was wondering, she has since passed, but she's still with me in my heart.
Man i love my lil pugs
So riddle me this, if a dog is bred to have certain traits that actually make it suffer then isn't it unethical to continue breeding them?
Cult Of Malgus I don’t know Riddler
What if your family had loads of medical problems, would you rather just watch everyone you know die out because it's unethical
@@anishaflynn7729 the problem is that these dogs were inbred which causes them problem. Just because you want to keep your 'bloodline pure' it does not mean you should marry your 1st cousin ight.
@@anishaflynn7729 maybe MAYBE instead of inbreeding we should out breed to lower their chances of getting the genetic mutation
Yes
There are a lot of silly comments on here, and as a Pug breeder for going on 40 years, I feel like I need to address them,
Pugs, like all dogs, can have health issues.
(Re-enact Scarface if you must =p )
I hope a few comments from people with less experience owning pugs, does not affect the odds of you making your own personal experiences with the little charmers. =)
It's wonderful to hear there are good breeders like you improving the health of this fine breed.
Pugs are stupid and so are you for perpetuating the breed.
My pug died last year rest in peace fousley :( I Miss him
That pug on a surfboard was so cute
They are so cute and funny pug puppy like me (duggu). 🦁❣️❣️❣️
I don’t understand people who find the sounds that it makes “cute”
That thing LITERALLY can’t breathe
If its hot cus that's true but the only thing I'm scared about is the eyes
"easy to train"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA
(my pug wouldn't listen to anyone)
oh my god. pugs are the most cutest thing on the planet!!!!
I LOVE PUGS!!!!!
there my favorite DOGS!!!!
I love pugs. I have two
I have a pug and a jack russell. They are perfect together.

aiden renova YAAASSS BITCH!!! YAAASSS!!!
They are living breathing suffocation
Roastie Toaster not true, if a pug comes from an fci dog kennel it’s most likely to be healthy. my pug only has a bit of breathing problems when it’s really hot. beside this he’s a really happy and cheerful. and in spite of what is the common opinion, that pugs are extremely lazy and sleep all day, they love walks and physical activity. the point is the owners tend to overfeed them and then they get fat, their joints get destroyed and they have no energy to play.
*barely breathing
@@zsw3514 you're delusional. Healthy dogs shouldn't have any breathing problems at any natural temperature.

Axel Balsan hi! Imma pug
Watching this a few times a day makes me miss my pug less since I moved out.
Your an ass
I LOVE PUGS MORE THEN EVERYTHING ON THE EARTH!

They failed to mention the reason pugs eyes bulge out is because humans have bred them so small that their skulls are too small for their brains so their brains are literally pushing their eyes out of their heads. They are a ridiculously unhealthy breed. It's better just to get a mutt than a pedigree.
I have never heard that one.

It will be the best thing that's ever happened to you!
Makes me miss my sweet, spoiled Corky and Norton. Gone but never forgotten.
It's kinda sad to see pug's video is shorter that those of other breeds.
:3
Irrisitably cute
Breathing problems: *exist*
Pugs: is for me?
I prefer to put harnesses on pugs instead of collars. Mainly for the eye bulging problem.
Pugs are constant reminder on why humans should never play god, through no fault of their own, they were set up for failure the day they were born.
@@soldier7332 your part of the problem.
My gosh, I had no clue there poor eyes could pop out. Would someone who has owned a pug please share experiences about their eyes popping out.
I love my pet pug(boogie) he is so smart, gentle and cute.
