This vlog is a special one having produced Erol from a 2 year old! Erol's first ever win!! We headed to a combined training competition and he was a superstar from start to finish! Give it a watch and I hope you can see the improvement in him!

What a good boy! Loved the little kick out 🙂 It looked as if he was so happy he couldn't contain himself and so kicked up his legs in joy. He's come so far. You must be very proud of him. He deserves his win 🏆

I’m so sorry about your migraine and to hear you had it over 24 hours. I’ve been plagued with them all my adult life. There are some wonderful prescriptions out there (my favorite being maxalt) that can knock them out with very minimal side effects. Congrats on a great show.

Congratulations on your first, first place rosette with Erol. Hope you've recovered from your Migraine, I get them too, and they're horrible. If I catch them quickly and take a pain killer, I usually feel better after a few hours. If not, I'm usually fuzzy headed for a couple of days.

Wonderful job by you and Erol. He so reminds me of your older horse, Zeb, such similar confirmation -- I'm sure this will serve him well as he continues to gain by experience. He seems like such a lovely boy. Sorry to hear about your MIGRAINES. I used to suffer from them and before I had a diagnoses of them, I thought I might be dying and if I wasn't dying, the pain would make me wish sometimes I was (I would always throw-up with mine). The only reason I'm writing about them is that I have been free of them for several decades now (I'm 61 and they stopped in my mid 30s :) So maybe this will be the same for you; I think it might help if you could think they aren't a forever thing. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you :) Very impressive you were able to press through and ride Erol to his very first, first place. tyfs.

Sorry to hear that you have migraines, Ashley---I don't suffer from them but I have friends who do & they are excruciating---you are a trooper to keep pushing through. I thought Erol looked very loose & relaxed in dressage, his mistakes seemed more like inexperience than not listening. Loved the little buck after the one jump---he just has to do a little "Erol" & it certainly didn't seem to affect him. Can't wait to see him try the next level up, perhaps the larger jumps will improve his concentration?

Ashley, I've gotten migraines with aura since I was 12-years-old, and I'm 48-years-old now. What do you take for your migraines? What I take when I get one works really well at keeping me from dealing with any headache pain, but that's where the aura can be beneficial...I get a warning, and time to get medication on board. I take Rizatriptan as soon as I know I'm getting one. I always have a tablet in my pocket. Always. Not getting aura, and the warning it provides, can make it more challenging to find medication that prevents/stops the actual headache pain. Getting multiple migraines within a few days is another thing that can make it difficult to prevent/stop any pain.

The first is good but the experience is great! All those signs Erol isn't used to and some of them banners, yes well secured but they breathe😱... more distracted than shying but he is building a solid base🥰😍

Congrats to both you and Erol on a well deserved win!🥇I don’t know how you rode so well with a migraine; I can’t make myself do anything but lie down in a dark quiet room when I have one. 😱 But you did a great job, and Erol has definitely progressed. Now if you could just work on his ground manners…. That would drive me INSANE! I’ve purchased several of my horses as 5 year olds, and none of them acted like Erol does. 😳 If mine started mucking about like that, I would definitely give them a correction to let them know that behavior is not allowed. Maybe Erol will grow out of this stage of being super annoying (potentially dangerous to anyone trying to tack/untack/bathe/etc.) on the ground, and the head flinging when you ask him to stand still. That would drive me bonkers! But performance wise, he is looking great!! Congrats again on your win!
