Your clear explanation regarding carburator petrol leakage is admirable . According to my study n experiencing patrol flow due basic 3 reason. 1 ) float pin - after long time it becomes wear out in size particular at the conical point. Which not able to block passage of incoming petrol through float pin seat micro hole. 2) float pin seat - after long time float pin seat 's micro hole becomes wear out n larger. 3) float - If any micro hole arises in float then it is not able to float or buoyance by petrol n hence cause of overflow of petrol or petrol leakage in carburator. Mostly the 1st n 3rd cases cause of petrol dipping by carburator n without choke bike will not start even if after running by engine it always need to choke while start. Best solution to fix it is purchase carburator repair kit n install properly basically 3 parts mentioned above.

Thanks a lot for the explanation. There is something i don't understand; the drain screw should be closed or open during normal use? Most websites say it should be closed, and you only open it when you want to clean the carb. I would say it should be open, so it can exit fuel when the chamber is to full. But then you risk lose a lot of fuel. I hope you can explain this to me. Thanks!
Brother I do have a szx 2011 model. It wasn't used for almost 2 years, few months back I serviced it and started it.. now the petrol is leaking from the carburettor when the bike is stopped. While servicing the mechanic cleaned the petrol tank as well but still the petrol is leaking.. when the engine is on I don't see leakage. Also the choke is not working even if the lever is pulled. Mechanic is saying to replace the carburettor only. He is saying it cant be repaired. Yamaha szx carburettor is bit costly and I don't use the bike much only once a week so don't want to invest that much.. could you please suggest whether it can be repaired or not?

You should never open a carburettor al long as it's working properly, messing with it may cause serious damage, and ultimately drop of mileage and performance. You should only open clean whatever you need to do once it troubles you. Like leaking missings etc. Coming to the filter part stock paper filter is best when it comes to filtering, other filters are mainly of three kind cotton filter(k&n) , foam filter (uni) , and steel mess filter (moxi). They are good for initial acceleration improvement, but may drop power in the top end. K&n and uni filters must be oiled properly to work efficiently. Failure to oiling may lead to severe engine damage. These oils are very hard to find and also very costly. If I really have to suggest one filter apart from stock filter I would suggest uni filter with gear oil on it. Will make a video on it stay tuned!
I have one more thing that I need to check with you..my szr is giving me 30 to 32 Kms per liter..not sure what worng with my bike recently I have changed oil motul and cleaned my chainsprokets as well and well lubricated with motul c2 spreay..plz help in increasing the milage.. filter yet to be changed..this is something not related to filter I believe..reset chain tensioner is also done..plz let me know what could be the reason behind this

Most of the bikes have same float, pulsar fz szr yamaha scooters, all ucal carbs have same floater. So u can search for the in the market, taking a sample for reference will help. I got it from yamaha.

Hi, i was having same problem and the mechanic changed both things, when i drive normally the overflow doesnt happen, but if i drive on high speed and then stop my bike, petrol starts overflowing, mechanic did setting 4-5 times but it still occurs so he says i need to change the carburator. Plz suggest is it required & what can be the issue.
Not at all,if your bike is in good shape. I went to Sikkim, first day i rode 550km. I maintained a speed of 70-90 in the freeways, more than that was doable but it's always better to ride at a little low speed than max speed. The bike performed very well. If you want to ride long for a longer period ride 10km lower than the top speed,and don't think of the rpm.

Pulsar ki carburettor me missing ki problem ayegi, tps sensor kam nehi karegi, You can do one thing, take a earbud apply some dabour red toothpaste on it, attach the other side of earbud to a drill machine, now bore the float seat in un and down motion, it will smoother out any rough surfaces.
@@EzMeck I have done this thing..used pitambari powder to rub and made the seat super smooth..the issue is even though the float moves to top position the pin does not block the hole at all...so I have bend that metal strip which pushes the pin in seat but still the issue is not completely resolved but after bending that strip now..with little float movement the pin gets pushed n there is some improvement.. otherwise carburettor is is very good..I have ridden szr around 90k n engine condition is excellent.. thanks for reply
And strip ko bahut jada bend kar den toh petrol proper level tak float chamber mein fill nahi hota toh high speed mein missing karti hai bike..dheere dheer chahlo taki petrol deheere dheere ata rahe..

New carb will solve this issue that's pretty obvious, but if even after changing float pin the problem doesn't solve then I suggest you to change the float. Carb don't go bad fully, just some of the parts goes wrong.
Bro, I got 2011 szr, looks like same issue petrol leaks heavily, and also idling too low that I have to keep raising acceleration, sometimes it doesn't start even on choke, pls advise.

Bro, I got 2011 szr, looks like same issue petrol leaks heavily, and also idling too low that I have to keep raising acceleration, sometimes it doesn't start even on choke, pls advise.
Idling will never be good if you have a leak. Check and replace the respective part.

Depends, pin kharab hua to all time leakage hogi. Or adjustment me problem Hui to side stand me rehne PE hogi.
