GREAT tips Janet! Like turning the heat gun upside down!!!!!! Duh! I never thought to do that!😂😂😂 Thank you for all the details! Inspiration overload 💖
Thanks Mary! Setting the heat gun is just so handy. Glad you liked it. 😎

Very nice. Thanks!
Thanks for watching 😁
Fantastic idea of using the leftovers as reference. I’m gonna do the same too. Thanks sooo much!
Thanks and you're welcome.
You do such a great job teaching Janet, thank you 🙂
You are so welcome! Thank you 💕
Thanks for sharing this Janet, I love these pigments. I ordered and have received the Bora Bora Blue and have just ordered two ten packs of various colours, they are beautiful. I enjoy your videos so much, am new to resin and learning so much from you. Love from Australia 🙏✨
Happy to know you are enjoying my videos 😁. That Bora Bora Blue is a favorite from Black Diamond 💎. Have fun arting with resin Liz!💕
Love these colours and great tip of putting alcohol in pigment love the effects it created and I bought this heat gun after watching your video and absolutley love it great tutorial really enjoyed it and love all your tips always helpful thanks for sharing such a simple idea and the coasters turned beautiful I am new to resin so a great way of practicing and experimenting xx
Thank you very much Anna. Small projects such as these are definitely a great way to experiment with resin and improve skills. Enjoy the journey 😁
awesome :)
Thanks! 😁
I love these. Did the white create the cells? Absolutely beautiful. Thank you.
The cells are because I added the 99% alcohol to the mica in resin. Thank you for watching.
Love you and your art. How considerate to do a voice over when you were using the heat gun.
Thank you very much 😊
Beautiful!!! I have the same heat gun--what temperature do you usually use? I don't have a torch (yet), do you think i need one? Do you have one you recommend? What does the alcohol do? and do you worry about it catching on fire?
Thanks! 😊
I probably use the medium heat setting most of the time with my heat gun to avoid scorching the resin.
You should have a torch. If just starting your journey with resin art and doing small project a great starter torch would be one of those kitchen creme brulee torches like this- amzn.to/2X2etz5. Be sure to get filtered butane like this - amzn.to/3byHh7E to avoid clogging of your kitchen torch (I learned that the hard way 😢). If doing large works you will want a propane torch that you can point down and not have the flame go out like this one - amzn.to/3dLoYxo You can buy small propane tanks at hardware stores or Walmart.
Adding just a couple of drops of isopropyl alcohol (I use 99%) helps to disperse the mica pigment powder into the resin to avoid possibility of clumping and will then help to produce nice effects in your resin work. If used in this manner I have never had it flame up but I am always careful whenever using heat or torch and have a fire extinguisher at the ready just in case. Again, here is a link for what I have - amzn.to/3fNRQHj
Hope all that helps. Thanks for watching.💕
Dey r lukin beautiful..cud u tell y did u mix alchohol in d pigment?
Thank you. I add the alcohol to assist the pigment in mix thoroughly into the resin and it also creates some effects when done right before pouring onto the project.
Hello again, Janet! I had a question for you about the cork you used. I'm wondering if you had the same problem as me since it's hard to tell but it looks like yours might be short too. I bought some true to size 4 by 4 little canvas type boards that have worked wonders for coasters, but the cork is too small by a couple mm (which is a big deal when your dealing with something so small already, as I'm sure you know) can you tell me if your cork is a true 4 by 4 size , and what brand it is? I made some absolutely beautiful coasters, then I went to apply the cork and it was too small. It was disappointing. I figured out a solution but it wasn't the look I wanted. Thank you so much for your time :)
Hi Ashley. My cork pieces are also slightly smaller than the tile. I actually happy with that because it creates a look of lift from the table top making the coaster appear to float (hope that description makes sense). Thanks for watching and I am happy to assist with questions. 👍🏻
Have you ever sprinkle mica power over resin to get texture ?? Do you have a demo texture related
I have done this but find that it will clump. No video creating texture with mica powder.
Very pretty. How do you finish the bottoms?
Thanks. Finishing the coaster is in the video.
@@MoonkusserArt Thank you. I was literally 30 seconds from that part. I didnt realise I wasn't at the end. Thx again.
Can i use a mixed alcohol instead of pure isopropyl alcohol?
I have tried 70% and had very little result. Better result with 91%. Best results with 99%. Look online for industrial grade 99% as it is cheaper. Industrial vs medical- medical is produced in a sterile environment (what is called a "white room"), the industrial is perfectly fine for use in this type of resin technique. 👍🏻
What is the name of the store from which you bought the dye black diamond

I love the pigments they make.
