Fantastic review! I have been very negative about On in the past. Expensive, social media-driven shoe with a very hard ride. However, the previews of this particular shoe were very positive. I decided to give them a try at my local running shop and was very surprised. I have only got ~16 miles (2 runs) on my pair so far but my initial impression matches yours. The omission of the speedboard and redesign of the midsole "clouds" completely changes the running experience for the better. IMO, the upper is a little bit on the hot side but my local temps are already north of 80 degrees (F). Overall (so far), I am quite happy as they have been a joy to run in. I will be paying very close attention to the midsole foam and outsole regarding durability. It's good to see Cloud willing to change/update their innovations. They're sponsoring some elite runners now --- and we all know that group will quickly move on to another brand if the goods are inferior and limiting their performances.
I‘ve been using this shoe for the past 3 weeks and I absolutely love them for my easy runs and recovery runs just because they’re so comfortable and easy on my joints. Great review!
I bought these shoes last week and they feel amazing... the side to side stability is shaky but I can't wait to see where they go next with the new tech in this shoe!
I tried on the Cloudsurfers here in Bangkok around a half year ago or so. Light feeling shoe with a lot of cushioning and a fun feeling ride. What sunk them for me was the lack of stability. They're nowhere near as bad as the Nike Invincible 3, but stability is still a concern. I ended up going with a pair of Asics Gel Nimbus 25 instead. Happy with my purchase, but I can definitely see why people would love the Cloudsurfer.
As a considerably lightweight lady, I wore these on a race and let me tell ya.. these were amazing I was flying with them with no pain (for reference i’m 110 lb)
@@win3326 I still have them, but to be honest, after walking with them for a while they feel flat now...what I recommend are the cloudmonster, bit bulky but the most comfortable shoes they have and I think they look better in my opinion
One of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn but unfortunately I have a very high instep and oddly experienced a LOT of pressure across the top of my foot just above my toes.
@@wilfredogarciagonzalez2889 A year later but I just got them on Saturday; didnt even break them in and i went to knotts for around 9 hours. My feet would cramp up with vans or chucks Nothing with these; not even a tingle. Im getting a second pair! PS Doc Martens are good on my feet as well for standing long hours (or going out) Edit: im a flat foot mf
What do you think about the Cloudmonster? I decided to change my shoes after suffering from a knee sprain (while I was performing an evasive sprint). Would you advise me getting the Cloud Surfer or the Monster?
I’m looking to get me a pair of cloud surfers. But read reviews of squeaking after break in. Now the squeaking that happens after breaking. Is it cause of the floor material? Or does it squeak regardless of surface?
I'd like to get something specifically for use on a treadmill (to avoid wearing the belt quicker) and the majority of my running is on a treadmill, would these be a good fit? Thank you!
Do you recommend them vs the cloudmonster for long walks if I have a small history of plantar fasciitis with my left feet? Would an orthotic insole help gaining more stability?
Hey, Zach. Bit off topic here, but what are your thoughts on wearing the Nike Air Zoom GT Cut 2 as tennis shoes. I’d love to hear your insight before I buy it. Thanks!
Woof- they’re so unstable side to side ( a feature not a bug for many hoopers) that I’d have trouble having confidence with them- the treads and silhouette are good though
Hi thank you for the video. Can you tell me whether you sized up for the shoes or just kept it with the same size? Esp for walking. I wear a 10.5 usually with Nike and wondering if I shud go up to 11. Is this for normal feet or wide feet? Thank you in advance
Hey Dr Zach! Please help!!! I need tennis/basketball shoes that are light, with minimal cushion and most importantly a wide toe box. Most of my shoes are "barefoot" style and my toes have adjusted to where narrow shoes are very uncomfortable and hurt my progress. Anything out there?!?!?
As long as you are not puncturing your toe through the mesh or knit , then it looks like a good replacement for the addidas ultra boost uncaged . Bio mechanics and a softer outsole and upper is what this company should have done from the beginning . Luckily there is an On store for running in manhattan along with wilson for tennis . What is the weight in grams for this shoe in your size ?
@@FootDoctorZach Got it at 9.2 Oz , when looking for it carefully vs hearing it verbally in the continued discussion of the product along with forefoot strike .

haha nice
Same bro but I want these lol was on the website but exercised self control lol
Same. I really don’t need anymore running shoes. But if I can find a pair for a deal, I’m buying

Love love love mine. I have 2 pairs of creek with neon orange like in your video. also the color magically make my foot look smaller!

Absolutely love the review and this is the first On running shoe that I can actually can be use for running 👏
2nd. I also like the cloud monster

I think you’re their ideal customer
I bought these two days ago and wow most comfy shoes ever in my opinion
Would you recommend to buy it in 2024?

Hey Doc, would this shoe be a good one for a teacher that walks and stands for long period of time? Thanks!
Yesssss❤
Excellent! Cloudtilt please
Awesome review. Would love to see you do a similar review on the Cloudeclipse and hear your opinion on the comparison.
One of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn but unfortunately I have a very high instep and oddly experienced a LOT of pressure across the top of my foot just above my toes.
Hey Zach, can you make a video about orthotics and how they work
Hey Zach can you make a video about the Hoka one one Bondi 8? Thanks
I bought the Bondi 8 for work and can’t wait to go back to On’s. The Hokas are not as comfortable and heavier for being on my feet for 12 hours a day.
The shoes offer cushioning on the buttom but no support anywhere else.
What the heck is that big obnoxious tag over the laces? Can you remove it without damaging the shoe?
Would these be good for people with flat feet? Also people who are on their feet for 8-12 hours? Thanks!
That is my main question, exactly the same, flat feet and 8-12 hours, but nobody answered

Nice vid doc!
I would like if you did a review on the kobe 5 if you want that are hard to get
not big into running and sorry for the dumb question but what does “forgiveness” mean
Zac, how would you compare this to the new Nike invincible 3 running shoes? Both similar prices and performance, which one would you pick?
I think its a toss up- the Nikes may last a tad longer but the Ons are more nimble and quick
What do you think about the Cloudmonster?
I decided to change my shoes after suffering from a knee sprain (while I was performing an evasive sprint). Would you advise me getting the Cloud Surfer or the Monster?
I have a review on the 1 and 2 that should answer any questions you have about them
I'm curious to try these.
I’m looking to get me a pair of cloud surfers. But read reviews of squeaking after break in. Now the squeaking that happens after breaking. Is it cause of the floor material? Or does it squeak regardless of surface?
The squeaking is horrible with these. It happened to my pair along with my husband’s pair.
Which shoe would you recommend more The Cloud Surfer or Cloud Monster?
Good vid ❤
Nice vid zach! Also, Do you recommend the adidas pureboost 22? Because it seems like a great performer
Did that New Balance Two Wxy review ever come out?
Does it fit true to size? I have wide feet. Should i go 1/2 size up ?
hey zach, i know this shoe is from 3 years ago but could you do a review on the Nike Kobe 5 Protro?
Cloudsurfer vs Kayano 29 for long walks of 4 to 6 hours, which one do you recommend?
Is this shoe good for quicker pace? My 5k pb is 22 mins, I’m wanting to get to sub 20
What type of Amazon-esque orthotic for tendinitis prone youngins would you suggest? I just don’t have the time to get custom ones currently. Thanks!!
Do stones get stuck in the gaps on the outsole when running on a trail? I had a pair a few years ago that were really bad for that.
Yup
I'd like to get something specifically for use on a treadmill (to avoid wearing the belt quicker) and the majority of my running is on a treadmill, would these be a good fit? Thank you!
Will you test the wow son of flash ?
Yup
Would this be a good shoe for someone who is on their feet for 12+ hours a day walking?
Do you recommend them vs the cloudmonster for long walks if I have a small history of plantar fasciitis with my left feet? Would an orthotic insole help gaining more stability?
Id rather have these for that purpose than the monster

Is it good for flat feet?
Yes, it is👍🏻
it's not helion that's making this shoe good. It's cloudtec phase being in mid sole that made this shoe so much lighter and better.

I always cringe watching these perfectly good shoes get torn apart.
