love how you snuck in the "That's what she said!" Definitely a staple to our generation!.
I would be knocking on the door that's enough for the whole load
oh no snow!
Watching opening your vid makes . feel lucky we only have rain in uk
Unless you live in Scotland, I'm in Worcestershire.
i enjoy watching people nerd out when they know stuff.
Thub is a National Treasure!!!!
Something about scrapping in the snow it's post apocalyptic super dope
Saw a furnace/water heater combo out by the road on my way to work yesterday. Naturally, I was already late and could not stop.
Back in the day we call those hot plates . Nice little score on the tool bag
I think we all need to start selling screws to manufacturers!
plamsa plasma!!
Yeah! My favourite type of video! Just like the good old days!!
thanks thub. you will be on the cold side for awhile. Tankless hot water tank is a good find.
Hoo! This is my kind of video! Awsome! :)
Ohhh Snow!!!!, late in Oktober here is no Snow in Germany, nice Video.
Aw dude I would've totally bought that slayer clock off of you
Great video. You can keep the snow on that end of the country, thank you! CHEERS!!!
I'd love to come across one of those on-demand water heaters. I've not taken one apart before.
Great combo video; we got the scrapping and the processing.
Good for scrap I've taken apart multiple dozens of them
Great scrap value, that style average 10 lbs of copper, 3 lbs brass, and about 5 lbs cast aluminum and a handful of #2 wire along with the small blower and several solenoids.
M8 your comment time stamp 26:58 , where it says do not handle this unless you're a professional : and you're a professional using the speed wrench made my day. Don't forget the dials in the water heaters are aluminum and copper , so you can use a speed wrench , or a pipe wrench to remove them and make a couple more loonies . Keep up the good work. God bless y'all.
When I said water tank I was talking about the large water heater
Still running around in t-shirts here in Michigan
Pa too
Same in ny
ThTs more snow than I saw in my first 20 years lol
I gotta be looking in the wrong places. I can only dream of getting a haul like you do
Yeah.... it's that time of year. Stay warm buddy. Keep doing the thing.
Hey thub ✋🏼
good haul today😃
Thanks for the good idea, I will get some cover all's for this winter. 😊
Great day out diving and scrapping Thub. Wow big stainless pipe, nice find. When the video started, I was thinking something's odd here, then the penny dropped, no facial hair !! I couldn't live without mine, I just keep it short. 👍
Amazing video as always
Would have grabbed that slayer clock someone would have paid, even broken 🎉 love the show 😊
Him saying something about lubricating the sewing machine gave me flashbacks. At least 15 years ago, I had a sewing machine. It was the one and only item of mine that I ever told my son's dad not to try and fix it if he were to use it, to leave it if something goes wrong. Not to even put any oil or anything in it if it seemed like it needed it because sewing machines had a special kind of oil to lubricate it. When I was asleep one day, he went to use it to sew a tare up on a glove. In short, next time I went to use it, I ended up opening it up and seeing some type or red stuff. The only thing I knew that was red, was brake grease ( or cleaner, one of the two). I immediately went ouside and asked if that was him. He said yes. and I started at him, whatever. He thought I was previously overacting about only using a certian oil for sewing machines. We laugh about it to this day every now and then, because according to his nephew, he had never seen me that angry about anything. I personally don't remember getting that mad (I was mad though), but I don't remember it like that. But apparently I did. So everytime his nephew sees him using a sewing machine, he laughs and tells him not to break that one.
Just before the rifle bag you threw out two hardwood Kali sticks, the martial art from the Philippines. That was 20-50 USD right there depending on the condition and wood.
ewww snow!
You’re good when you bring your a game.
It's upper 70's in Kentucky. You keep that up there in the mother land
Great video as per usual! Took in my first load of scrap today because of you. Thumbs up from the Okanagan 😎
where did you go? Knox?
I love your channel dude!!!
I can tell your also the king of hoarding junk🤯😂🤷😎
I’m such a minimalist, I hate a bunch of crap all around my house I don’t use lol
Yes, the all copper rads are sweet, I’ve gotten those before and currently have one in my copper hoard in the basement atm….i broke a ton between 1,2, bare bright in February and am just waiting on prices to go up to the mid 4s again before selling(not selling the bare bright though, I keep all of that and sell none and add it to the gold/silver/bare bright stash….i never sell gold/silver/BB….)
I just love seeing the snow in your video today. It was really wonderful to see & watch you out dumpster diving and picking. I can't wait for it to snow up here in Maine. I also wanted to say that the sewing machine may need a good cleaning along with some oil. If you still have that same issue with the machine; you might want to check where the bobbin sits inside the machine. There just might be broken pieces of threads stuck in there which will cause you to have that same issue as well. Also, the pins that hold the spools of threads just might be recessed inside the top of the machine on the right hand side. Good luck to you and be safe my friend.
11:15 😂😂😂
Oh no you di’n’t😅
Ahh, snow🥶 Sucks to scrap in. Love to ski on it in Utah though!
Nice video!
So stoked for fridays now because of your channel!
Great video all the way through ♻️🤙🏻
50 in Puget Sound! Hope you were able to make contact with the owner of all the appliances. 😊
Also some one still might want that paintball gun and hopper. If it works im sure you could get more than scrap
took an instant hot water apart just yesterday. hard to clean up all the cast AL with bits of brass inside, some ended up in "irony" bin, but nice "bowl" of heat transfer copper in there.
I just love your videos! I do the accounting side of a scrap yard and it's nice to know what's what! There is something about your voice and the clanging of all the tools that puts me at ease. Every lunch I watch something new or rewatch old videos. The nice thing about it, is since it's work related I can watch you all day! You are awesome! Leave it better than you found it!
Great thunber
Great job.
Congrats on 100k.... Very nice.
I don't miss the Alberta climate.. today in NS it's 20c
Nice video, nice stainless steel and copper finds. At the pile of white appliances, you had a close up on the compressors. Its becoming a drug, isn't it ? Ha.
Awesome score with tankless water heater. MAKE SURE TO HAVE AN EXTENDED BIT HOLDER TO RESCH THOSE PEAKY PHILLIPS SCREWS HIDING WAY DOWN IN THERE 😂Those things are hit or miss. I’ve had the same brand multiple times one time it’s copper the other time it’s stainless!
I commented this very early in the video didn’t realize you were going to break it down. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve lost my long extension and I had to put four or five regular size bit holders together and they’re all wonky flopping around. I lose when they roll underneath something that was funny.😂
Very nice find would you like to help a fellow scrapper fix his truck
The first place I go for repairs are UA-cam videos.
I would have never known that if you take a tiny screwdriver and push in the right spot, the door panel of a 2004 Trailblazer will literally fall off.
This weekend's project is complete brake line replacement for a 2000 Silverado.
@26:37 we call them boilers in the UK
Noice
Wow winters here awesome video brother
In London England 🇬🇧 we hardly get snow anymore 😢
Did my first ever copper run today and definitely underestimated the value of copper I was expecting to get 500$ I made 1435$ 😅
Wow that water heater looked to be a real pain. Great vid. Cheers.
My speed wrench is now a cordless angle grinder. I have 5 batteries and buy my disc by the 100
While you having snow and cold I'm still using the air cooler and it's 31⁰ here 😂
Could be an easy fix for the sewing machine and who knows. Depending on the model someone might want to buy it for parts
That was cool watching you break down a water heater didn't know they had that much cooper inside very nice score
Nice video thub and an amazing copper score for the home team. Stay safe, stay warm and stay at it.
Hi Drake,
Many thanks for your reply, and nice to meet you as well. Just watching this video, and have you moved as looks totally different from your others or are my eyes
I love it when you go scrapping in the snow, and when are you and the family going scrapping together as you seem to have fun.
Please stay safe and take care.
Regards to you and the family
John
that OD water heater was a bear
I would suggest a little butane torch to warm and expand that metal a little, but it might be a bit too cold for a small one. Have you looked at adding another panel to the truck for a headache rack?
If you could find the right buyer that stainless steel valve is worth quite a bit of money as it was
Your Milwaukee Sawzall would probably take less battery juice, and with a good blade cut faster too.
U can have all that snow
Meanwhile it's almost 80 degrees in Pennsylvania lol
Pa repping as well!!! THE City of Champs!!!💪💪💪💪
PITTSBURGH bred, enough said.
Same in Va. Tomorrow will be above 80
And today in South Florida we had 88 degrees ….
Buy a Rubber mat and stick it on the side of the roof 😀
Duuuuude, ! Cuz, that's an amazing haul! Now since it is already snowing up there, did you taken my advice a while back about going back to get them pallets?
Again, fabulous haul!
Editing time. Time to invest in a power inverter for the pickup to keep them batteries charged. This find / haul would Cousin Mikey envious!!!
It does get cold though
Mesquite Firespice Wood Chips, $4.49/bag at my local Lowe’s Home Improvement. 😃
And first view, hell yeah!
Should see my ali collection about 120kg 😊
That that industrial SS big ball valve with double end flange plates aren't cheap.
Snow already! Its F**KING October!
Thub if I can call you that: Those motors you scrapped a while ago and you said that some were aluminium were they by any chance from china. I had to get a blower motor rewound a number of years ago and they could not rewind it because the copper would not fit properly in the stator.
Rifle bag in Canada? Thought Trudeau put the kibosh on that
Sweating my but off in ontario and you got snow, Oh no............................
Take a piece of pipe 18 t0 24 inches long that will fit over the handle of the pipe wrenchand youwont have to use ammer that is dangerous
What brand and size coveralls are those? I think we're about the same size and I'm going to look for some.
I'm sure it has oil inside work it up first
How do you know 100% it’s scrap and not about to be put away or something. Also do you check dumpsters in parking lots or in neighborhood?
I just ask myself “is this going to a landfill if I don’t take it for scrap?”
@@thubprint you can’t check dumpsters on the edge peoples yards right if they are slime construction? Private property I guess but cmon its a trash can
@@HOODTRACKZ8 If it’s behind the property line it would be considered trespassing, but that’s got nothing to do with the bin and everything to do with where it’s sitting
May I ask...Are you wearing a wedding band thub?! Something old or something new??
First!!!!!!
Shoot wide zoom in on edit...
That’s one way to do it and it’s a fine backup plan if you rushed the production but it sacrifices a lot of detail and artistry. I’d rather fail sometimes but occasionally publish work with soulfulness and beauty. Or at least that’s how I justify the time and money I spend hunting down wide aperture lenses lol
@thubprint yes but you lose the frame position if you do it by yourself. Shooting at a wide angle allows you to crop the scene you want and from a higher angle.
@@JohnAvantiBK I definitely enjoy making an intentional crop, and you can sort of spoof multiple camera shots by doing that too and I’ve done both. Honestly it’s probably the best reason to shoot in 4k imo. I’ve just been really inspired by separating the subject through shallow depth of field and chasing bokeh and you just can’t do both in the same shot! I would love to have a camera person though
@thubprint I hear you, bro 👍
That's dangerous, mate. I thought you are a season angle grinder user. I'm a steel fabricator. In my time I witnessed a lot of injuries when novice use a simple angle grinder. And what you just did is not safe. Imagine a long hanging unbalanced pipe and you made a bottom cut.
Wasn't really that bad 😂
@@Trash_Money you sound like French. My French buddy also used that line before his eyes was cleared clean from his eyesocket after cutting an overhead rebar. I hope it won't happen to one of yer folks. Then you'll remember me.
Just my opinion but I don't think there's enough inside that water tank to bother with
$25+ worth of copper... worth it to me.
The way he broke it down would have taken 15 minutes if he had a longer extension and done one before. Even if this one being his first took an hour it's still worth the nearly $40 selling it as he broke it down as #2 copper, clean brass, electric motors, dirty aluminum, #2 wire and tin shred
But hey if you would rather get $4 and toss it as shred instead of doing a little work and average return of $144/hr
