Great Job! One question, when you do all the painting job, are you using any sort of paint booth? Or extraction fan? Is the only thing keeping me from starting any project with an airbrush. THANKS!
Stug 3 117 , yup totally agree from the viewpoint of toxic fumes, but wearing some form of face mask 😷 is a good idea because the paint particles can get into your respiratory system and perhaps cause medical conditions like COPD, but I don’t know how much exposure to those particles you have to experience is dangerous, in my opinion it’s “better to be safe than sorry “, I use disposable (bio degradable) masks like the ones we are seeing a lot of on tv 📺 because of the coronavirus outbreak in China, they are cheap and effective, although I suspect the price will be going up due to the worldwide demand for them at the present time. Good luck when or if you take up airbrushing Cristian Balo’ 👍
@@PerisModels well I do model trains, 1930's Colorado narrow gauge and we weather also. But you military guys are way ahead of us when it comes to weathering, so I watch to learn. And your videos are some of the best, you give the color, needle size, air pressure etc. You document each step in the build, you cant do much more for a viewer except build it for him. So I still dont see what is not to like. Great work, thanks.
Nice build, although You failed a bit about some rather important element of research - EA-6A features longer, radome which is different than those from attack variants. You could still use Revell/Monogram kit nose. Of course it requires some surgery on completed model, but I believe it's possible.
Wasn't the canopy glass tinted, that gold color. I never saw a the electronic A birds in person but saw many electronic B birds the four seaters and their canopies were tinted with gold color. Not criticizing the build it self, it's a wonderful model of the aircraft. VMA-AW-533 1979-1982, MOS-6013, Plane Captain.

Wild Weasel was predominantly a USAF designation, not USN or USMC, and both terms fell out of use over time. Modern Day parlance now calls those missions SEAD (Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses) missions. Flight of the Intruder, written by Stephen Coonts, an A-6 Driver, also notes this (Iron Hand SEAD missions) in both the Book and Movie.

Hey so for the final details do you use CA glue or cement I have thinned cement so it tears up the paint if I’m not extremely careful but I recently picked up ca glue for filling gaps so I was thinking. Thanks!

JP-8?, uhmm, nope your wrong there, no such fuel exists, now if your talking about JP-5 fuel for military aircraft, that's a different story, except you need to do more info work, 1st off the JP-5 fuel when engines shutdown comes out of a tube below the engine, not over the centerline tank, any spillage on the centerline drop tank usually is oil from the generators, 1 per motor =2, usually if you have leaky oil from generator it gets replaced immediately, other spoilage sometimes is hydraulic fluid.

Is there more than one person working on the model? Why is all the captioning, "we did this" and "we did that" instead of " I did this" or " I did that." Maybe you have a couple personalities 😋 just curious.
After the Flory wash did you re-seal with X-22 before you did the oil weathering? Don't you have to? What kind of oil thinner do you use? Mineral spirits or turpentine maybe?
Honestly cannot remember I usually do but you don't have to do as the phlory wash is water based. I just use thinners from the hard ware store. Nothing special
Looks pretty good. I think you went a little overboard with the weathering on the top. And I'm going to go ahead and split hairs here. The wing stowage locking bars should be red, and since those are on, it should also have the intake covers installed as well as the 'remove before flight' "flags" and the yellow protective cap over the nose of the missiles.
Peri's Models , no problem brother. I would hate to know that if you entered it into a competition and lost points because I didn't mention some extra details and sop's that I am aware of. We, plastic scale modelers, are a community of skilled artisans and should help each other out. I would still share my thoughts and constructive criticism even if we were competing in the same show. One other idea for ya. You could even put it on a carrier deck with the wheels chalked and tie down chains attached. Thanks for sharing the build.
yes my friend only a bit of filler is required on seams (as every model) and the intakes. If you watch the Step by Step videos you will see. Nothing to concern about tho

1st off the A-6 WAS NEVER CALLED WILD WEASEL, that's nomenclature goes to the F-4 phantom. Not an ea6a, lol, it's an A-6E or a KA-6D intruder, not a wild weasel at all. Ka-6d was a tanker.
@@PerisModels no its not at all, that is the EA6B aircraft that does that, A6E is nothing more than a bomber, I know I worked on them as a jet mechanic.
Many things wrong with this name, 1st off there was never any ea6a aircraft, there is an ea6b or a6e or ka6d,ea6b is a 4 seater, a6e & ka6d are 2 seater. Also none of these were referred to as the wild weasel, wild weasel was an f4 aircraft. model shown is an a6a model, no tram outfitted with this aircraft that's why the missles that are on there are for different aircraft, not this one.

Wild Weasels are US Air Force aircraft. (E)A-6' s are US Navy aircraft. I'm not aware of any program in which US Navy aircraft were part of any US Air Force Wild Weasel Squadron. Did I miss some facts here?

The A6B, EA6A and later in it’s career the EA6B flew the same mission type as Air Force Wild Weasels. They were specifically armed and electronically equipped for the destruction of surface to air missile sights and the radar stations that guided them. The Navy started it back in the Vietnam war. It wasn’t called Wild Weasel by them, although the mission was essentially the same. I would normally not use movies as historical reference but if you Watch “Flight of the Intruder” you’ll understand the mission. It’s a fictional story plot but the aircraft and it’s mission are accurately depicted. All in all if you’re a aviation buff you’ll probably enjoy it
The EA-6A was built exclusively for the Marine Corps. The squids didn't begin operating them until late 1977 when VMAQ-2 began to transition to the EA-6B and started transferring aircraft to the reserves with VAQ-209 at Oceana.

Only flaw is the center line tank and EW pods are too clean, they are always stained by JP-8 fuel and hydraulic fluid.

Incorrect. There were 28 EA-6As. 27 of which served in Marine Corps VMCJ and VMAQ squadrons. The squids didn't begin operating them until late 1977 with a reserve squadron VAQ-209 at Oceana after VMAQ-2 began to transition to the EA-6B.
@@AA-xo9uw nope, your wrong, never was ea6a, 1st off that is for electronic warfare, that didn't get real until very late 70's & early 80's, but either way none of these were called wild weasel, that was an f4 only.
Wild Weasels are US Air Force aircraft. (E)A-6' s are US Navy aircraft. I'm not aware of any program in which US Navy aircraft were part of any US Air Force Wild Weasel Squadron. Did I miss some facts here?

The jarheads and the pelicans called their birds wild weasels also. Not an official designation in any branch of the service! Was a common nickname.
The A6B, EA6A and later in it’s career the EA6B flew the same mission type as Air Force Wild Weasels. They were specifically armed and electronically equipped for the destruction of surface to air missile sights and the radar stations that guided them. The Navy started it back in the Vietnam war. It wasn’t called Wild Weasel by them, although the mission was essentially the same. I would normally not use movies as historical reference but if you Watch “Flight of the Intruder” you’ll understand the mission. It’s a fictional story plot but the aircraft and it’s mission are accurately depicted. All in all if you’re a aviation buff you’ll probably enjoy it
The US Navy EA-6A never called "Wild Weasel", it's the US Army definition used for F-105 and F-4 electronic countermeasurement modifications
