- I had an incredible LIVE Instagram chat with legendary television producer Sid Krofft!
Sid is the creator and producer of award winning children’s shows such as HR Pufnstuf, Sigmund and the Sea Monsters and Land of the Lost, to name a few.
If you missed the interview from June 6, 2021, here it is!
P.S. Our connection goes back as far as the 50s when my orchestra leader father, Lou Basil, would conduct Sid’s show at the Chicago Theater and later in Las Vegas at the Flamingo with headliner Judy Garland.

So many shows from my childhood....
Love the two of them. Great talent that lives forever!
Both of you are so brilliant!
The big names, they were great. But the OBSCURE ones... those were magnificent
WOW Toni......how in the world do you still look so young? Amazing!!!
Yea, these two can drop *names*.... two legends in one deep dive retrospect, I am so happy to see this and know you exist!
Floored me when he said 26 ... series. Wouldn’t believe somebody could do that many
What a great coversation. Two amazing talent and experiences! Thanks
Totally enjoyed tuning into this chat and the stories shared! Toni’s featured fashion just brilliant! Had no idea Toni’s history in Chicago ♥️ ...& her family in Vaudeville! Plus how Sid got his start & all of his touring! Total fan of the #70s Tv kid programming ♥️as young kid!
Great interview and build. Toni is pure talent and street savvy in so many ways. She says she used to date celeb hair stylist, Jay Sebring, (Thomas John Kummer), fun fact is Jay saw a young man at Ed Parker’s Long Beach Karate Championships in 64 and recommended this man to a Hollywood producer who was working on a new tv series. That man was none other than the inimitable Bruce Lee. Wonder if Toni ever met Bruce?
Enjoyed the shows you made Sid Krofft
Talento insuperable Toni Basil.
I miss Sid and Marty and Jack Wild too
Fred Allen and Bert Lahr joke about HELLZAPOPIN in a 1939 episode of Allen's radio show promoting WIZARD OF OZ. All the Krofft TV shows should be on Blu-ray with upscales video and, where the shows were shot in film, 4K scans and lossless sound. So many underrated classics long over for rediscovery!
Just saw you live with him again! Only 100 views on his live, what!!?
Thank you 😘
Love hearing about dance!
Oh Mickey, you"re so fine you"re so fine you blow my mind Oh Mickey! oh Mickey !
it's hey Mickey, hey Mickey
Super-high level name dropping! Endlessly fascinating.
Unusual artistry lol...
Is Toni’s neck ok?
I just turned 60. I lo9ve this woman. I will shut up and go away now. Nect to Prince, Toni is the single most brilli8ant person who had ever lived. Personal opinion, but I am right.
The episode of Ed Sullivan featuring Sid is season 12 episode 47. I can’t find it though. The episodes are listed as collections on Pluto
