Footage looks great! I love the character of the anamorphic look and love the imperfections that come from them! Only thing the 1.25x doesn't deliver is the squeeze. I love the blazar 1.5x anamorphic adapter and have seen some really good footage on the same lenses you used for this. I agree that on a budget, an anamorphic adapter is probably the most versatile way to achieve the anamorphic character! I do admit I am still buying anamorphic lenses even if I get an adapter. 😅
I used adapters before, all of theme are a pain in the a.. to shoot with.I Still have a Focus Module with the shneider Cinelux. I used to shoot with the Nikors as a taking lens too, the SMC 50 takumar delivers even better results, same sharpness with more "carachter". For me it doesn't make sense to use adapters these days, just buy 2 budget anamorphics and enjoy. No carrying with rings, adapters, misalingments problems, diferent random flares depending on the lens you choose. If you don't have an extra 500 to expend, It's better an adapter than nothing, if you can make the efort, just buy a budget one, personal opinion. Nice video by the way, thanks for sharing your experience!
a very fair assessment! the benefit of the sirui adapter is fares are fairly consistent, there’s a single focus mechanism, and it delivers a better image than cheap anamorphics like the sirui and lowa budget options. where it really gets better is with blazar remus anamorphics which perform with similar character but better overall quality and performance!
from what I can tell generally speaking yes. "sharpness" has a lot to do with the lens you put it on and the focal length however the more squeeze there is the softer the image tends to be.

of course!! the compromise with other adapters is softness, contrast, and CA
Thank you, SIR!!!

is the Sirui 1.25X adapter sharper than the Blazar 1.5X and Laowa 1.33X adapters?
