It's clear that our time with the Fisker Ocean was a disappointment, with its buggy software and many livability issues giving us headaches. And on top of that, the company is now bankrupt, leaving owners in the lurch. If you owned an Ocean, what would you try to do with it at this point? Sell it like us, or something more creative? Let us know in the comments below!

As an owner, I will point out you were using the key fob wrong. The NFC reader is on the left hand side where the logo is. Also there is a person out there who is selling additional key fobs and NFC cards so I now have 2 fobs and 2 cards. Makes me feel a little better, but the water pump recall is not great since there is no one to replace the pumps and if they go bad, the car goes into limp mode. How can it go bad? Just driving with heat on. Not a big deal here in Colorado where it never gets cold.
I love driving this car, but it gives me daily nightmares of the possibility of breaking and not having support. The FOA is doing amazing things and making progress. Grateful for the volunteers there doing all the work

17,100 on my ONE- just did a 230 mile round trip in cold (32 degree)and car performed flawlessly (a few wonk wonk alerts due to extreme fog, but even my brother’s 2023 Model Y does this in bad weather). Range dropped about 10% from warm weather driving and the lack of battery preconditioning plays a part in this- but ALL EV’s suffer in cold weather range.
I am waiting on 2.2 update and have ordered 20” rims and Blizzak snow tires for the winter as i am looking forward to taking it over some mountain passes this year.
As long as the car is safe, i plan to drive it as long as i can get support for any issues- and thanks to a network of mobile and in-location service partners, i am good for at least the short term.

History is funny to go back and watch. Understanding the key fob issue, you can touch the fob to the door handle and it will open, and touch it to the left side interior panel and it will recognize. But not to dilute the pain early owners felt, especially for a $70k car, I would up buying one for $26k, and it's been a month and I love. Already 1,148 miles, 2 round trips to LA, and a non-stop Vegas run, and the car drives like a champ. No issues, other than rear reading lights pop on and off during night driving. But next to my 2010 BMW 550GT, this has been my favorite car ever. I really wish they had kept it together, got the software right and continued developing the car, but it is what it is. Too bad society will miss out on having the Fisker Pear, an 250-range EV for $30k new, but I'm sure we'll survive somehow.

The guy is putting the FOB on the RIGHT side of the steering column to demonstate how the NFC reader doesn't work. It is on the LEFT side, there is an obvious icon. Another person has already pointed this out. If your fob battery dies, you just swipe it on the driver door handle and tap it to the NFC reader. JUST LIKE A TESLA.... This review is a bit embellished to put it mildly. Yes the depreciation is bad, but buying a used one now may give you a high end EV with class leading range for the lowest price possible. Yes, it could be a gamble. Got one for $38k, so far no issues and >5k miles.

I owe one and don’t have most of mentioned software issues. Maybe it’s because I got car with 2.1 software already. For me personally, the problems are:
    1) daily battery drain is about 1,5% (seems to have been fixed in 2.2)
    2) car rolls back until we enter hold mode (seems to have been fixed in 2.2)
    3) annoying speed limit assistance and lane departure assistance which I have to turn off every time
    4) no Android Auto / CarPlay
    5) no top view 360 cameras
    6) no adaptive cruise
    7) engine imitation sound is a bit annoying, no possibility to change or turn off
As far as FOA took control over OTA I hope they fix some of these problems in future. And I still didn’t get 2.2, hope to aquire it soon
    Positives for me are:
    1) cool look;
    2) very comfort suspension
    3) very comfort seats
    4) long range

It's pretty interesting seeing people with some credibility reviewing a car without even basic knowledge of its features or design choices. This review is as lame as the one made by MKBHD.
When the car can detect your key fob, it's because its battery is too low. In this case, you have to HOLD the key fob near the NFC reader on the lower LEFT side of the panel.
Also, the sad theatrical play where the reviewer is unable to shift is caused because the seatbelt is not buckled up - and the car did not detect a key, which is what you expect it to do.
The Ocean cannot be driven without the seat belt. It will also constantly chime is a passenger is unbuckled.
The infotainment is not lagging anywhere close to was is depicted. It's actually faster than many recent EVs I tested lately, including the Mach-E, the Tesla M3.
Their implementation of one-pedal driving mode with 3 levels of regen is available - it's perfectible but it's good enough to seldomly use the brake pedal.
For the "lane centering", the car does have "lane keeping" where it will chime upon leaving your track and the steering will correct your trajectory.
The Ocean is far from perfect. The latest 2.2 software is a serious leap forward but still has quirks.
Meanwhile, for the price to get one today, it's a seriously nice ride.
Overall, this is a sad, biased and deceptive review. When you review cars and want to show some credibility, just at least RTFM.

One interesting (aka bad) thing about EVs is that they are neither built by automotive engineerings nor software engineers. I worked in the industry for a few years and saw it first had. Its still dominated by electrical engineers, ehich st surface level makes sense, but unfortunately they have no grasp of ehat makes a good car, nor a good software. Thats how you end up with cars like this one. BMW wasnt even using svn wheen i was involved, let alone git.
