this is a outside view of the first logs sawn on our rebuilt edmiston sawmill. Not as good as Mike McCoy! Thanks for watching & please subscribe to our channel !
Great to see different angles... helps me understand the system a little better! Also, amazing to see just how far you lads have come in just two years!! 😁😁
I’ve enjoyed watching your millwork. My first job was on a sawmill similar to yours. It was a production company that is no longer in business we sawed five buys railroad ties and special order lumber. I beard when I started. Work was hard but I have to say I did enjoy it. Small mill operations has almost died here and West Virginia. So keep up the good work I’ll keep watching I enjoy it immensely. Yep and Eddie is a very hard worker.
God Dawn did you do an awful lot of work since 2017 with planning. I'm impressed damn good job..... who's the engineer? Blood. Sweat. And tears. And only God knows what else... and now you have means to put a pole barn around her. Wonderful wonderful wonderful you can't help 2 appreciate what you've done accomplished... It just goes to show. Man can do anything they put their minds to. Like moving mountains. Dig canals. Land on the Moon so on and so forth,....
I’m really enjoying your videos. Never saw a saw with teeth that large. My grandfather lived with us growing up. He lost his leg due to diabetes so couldn’t build houses anymore. He had a lawn mower/saw sharpening business in our garage and when he could no longer make it to the garage, he sharpened saws in the house. I’ve seen al sorts of saws but none quite this large.
Second time through your history, Mark. Enjoying it again. Noticed Ed sucking on a durry! Not good for longevity, gotta say. But I haven't seen similar transgressions of late. Nice one, Ed.
Interesting camera angles in these original videos. I didn’t realize that you let Eddie and others smoke on the job. Everything is bright yellow on the input side…
The saw cut straight 2:40/2:50 but the rim is a bit loose/snarky after 4 years I am sure you have given some attention to the saw(s). I notice ya'll made the common mistake of putting your guide rail under the board side of the carriage verse the back side of the carriage. As far as some of the comments on the "Head Sawyer" abilities I will be looking for a few more recent videos to asses how much the technique has improved. Nice video ,, I enjoyed it a lot. Just for the record our family mill ran with the guide rail to blade side from 1956 to 1987, Always had saw dust/chips to tend to but it worked fine.
Mike, I am sure, would do anything to cheer you on... He and Mother seem like wonderful folks. As you get the feel for the equipment it will seem quite natural to you. Blessings!
yes the more I saw the better I get , cant see as good in the sawcab to set my first cut. my old handset mill was very simple to run, look at old time sawmill on youtube.
Eddie has a full beard now and a Little whiter, also he still smoking? The mill has come a long way. Nice to go back in time to see where you come from.
Nice mill but you need a shed as quick as you can. The mill down the road just got a 6-71 instead of the 4 built in 50 or 52. It'll get an inframe and put back. I had a pal that was a top notch sawyer. Started a new job and seems like the rig had a shot gun carriage and he threw it off the track 1st thing. The crew horse laughed him till they got it back runnable. That was their last laugh. And you cannot beat a 6-71 pulling a mill.

Nothing like a 2 stroke Detroit!!! Too bad there few and far between nowadays. I've worked on many and many of them. From the straight blocks to the v blocks. Music to ya ears.
@@markgalicic7788 the first few I ever messed with scared me mainly due to they sound like they're gonna come apart at 2100 rpm but at operating temp they only idle at around 10psi oil pressure lol
wow, no roof, no flags, no sawdust blower.... very primitive. been watching some sawmill vid's this weekend. lots of old time, one man, all manual machines out there. watching this 2 year old video and not T.H.E eddie is under a roof !
Look how far you all have come. Our baby is all grown up.
Wow what a difference a building makes.
yes for sure.

Hey Mark I just found this first use of the new mill video - what a change to nowdays. Well blo...y done.
👍👌👏 Nice! You've come far since then. Best regards, luck and especially health to all involved people.

yes that is a B-pattern saw.
Wow. I wasn't aware that Eddie was standing so close to the controls cab. In later videos, he looks as if half a mile away. Good job!
I like looking at how things were in the beginning. No vac system, no shed, etc. 👍 Did the blade have a wobble or is that camera reflection?

I have been watching for a while. Nice to see the beginning. You do a great job.
Thank you so much!
Wow Mark. Things have sure changed since this video. You can see the blade wobble in the video.
October 15 2020. Man have you guys come a long way since this video I never saw this one
thanks Tim.
Come along way, nice to see success

You'll have come so far. Getting very close to that 50K
Amazing how different everything is now. That same guy is still offloading, though lol. Who was your camera person?

@@markgalicic7788 Maybe get a laser pointer and line it up with the blade. Anything might help.
after we build a shed we are going to get a laser light.
@@markgalicic7788 That'll work. That's a sweet mill to be outside BUT you can just do what you can do when you can do it.
just takes time.
hi still catching up on the past . thanks for the call john
a yea and a few months later and things have been coming along well.
Awsome....i would put a 4’ pipe on the muffler with larger pipe elbow and another 20’ to move that noise away
yes I need plans on home made mufflers for Detroit 671's!
What'cha say? I couldn't hear you....
Where it all began.

Eddy looks like he lost weight and got grayer since this video! 😀 God bless
Nice setup!!
Thank you ,we have a long way to go until it will be 100%. We will have many new videos out as we build the building over the mill.

we are planning to build a roof this spring, the 671 is a great power unit!

good one!! thanks for watching!

I saw the loader video perfect size Kool
thanks Dennis.
That's faster than any bandsaw I've seen. Why the multiple thin cuts to final size?
Failure to do any grade school arithmetic in the first place. E.G. cut your slab at 7.1/4", the cut a 1'' board leave you with 6"
Listen to that Pittsburghese
Pull that front taper in dude ! Your scaring me
that is the third log we sawed on this mill.
Back in the day
Where's the building ?
that was two years ago.

Mucha inversión para tener como resultado, una baja producción.
Con dos operadores se haría mucho más rápido ese trabajo.
