One of the great things about Dimash that I admire about his cover songs is that I feel the integrity of the original is preserved (intentionally and with respect) but with additional and just a few changes that keep us enthralled, anticipating. I have heard Freddie Mercury's version many times and I love it; It stands on its own merits and will remain so. But Dimash gives it a new dimension and I love that too. They stand side by side and I am sure Freddie Mercury, wherever he is, will applaud Dimash and say, " Wow!' "you did a great job with that!"

I'm a Singer" This is not "The Voice", it's a competition of already known and talented singers.Adding that the organizers keep secret the names of the participants - quite famous singers. A singer must win the hearts of the audience. 2. He has to show his new face every time. 3. To perform in a new style, in a new genre. 4. Sing Live. The winner in each round is selected by 500 spectators aged 20-60 sitting in the hall. Each viewer has the right to vote for three singers. These 500 viewers no longer vote in other rounds. In each turn, the singers receive a total of 1,500 votes. In the first round, Dimash received 78% of the votes, ie 1170 votes out of 1500 !!!After January 21, they lost the possibility of a "normal" walk in China! It’s a Chinese TV show called “I Am Singer” All the contestants are famous singers in China, all great singers btw. Dimash was the youngest (22) and the first ever foreigner invited to compete, he was totally unknown by the audience and the other contestants. All the contestants are only allowed to sing covers, apart from one of the fourteen week series when they are allowed to sing one of their own songs. The 500 people in the audience are the same each week, they are all part of the music industry and they are the judges. They vote each week and the contestant with the lowest vote goes home. Each contestant is assigned their own vocal coach and the contestants have a say in the arrangements etc Dimash is very set in what he wants even if the advice is against it! They try and advise him on the arrangement, but if he doesn’t like it, he gets his own way, he really does know what’s best for the song he’s going to be singing! Dimash came second in the competition, it’s a state run competition and I think at that time a Chinese national had to win since 2017 was the first time they’d invited a foreigner to compete and they were expecting Dimash to go by the second week. The following year 2018 they changed the rules and Jessie J from England won. Dimash became very famous in China and Asia on the back of this competition. After his first performance of SOS was aired, it was downloaded 600 million times on Chinese Social Media and he became a superstar overnight. Episode 6 of the competition was the highlight for me, when Dimash sang Adagio (a Lara Fabian song, Lara is Dimash’s idol). That has to be one of the greatest performances of all time by any artist. Dimash’s childhood dream came true in 2019 when he got to perform with Lara at Igor’s 65th Birthday concert. They sang Ti Amo Cosi in a trio with another artist, Aida Garifullina.
Isn't it amazing how he makes every song his own? Copying the original exactly would be boring and uncreative, each person receives the world differently and has his/her own reception and emotional interaction on different levels. Yes, it's very hard to focus on anything else when Dimash is singing. He has an epic rock voice that we never hear enough of, just glimpses here and there.

As a music director Tony you might be interested to know that this Chinese show, The Singer, ran for 8 seasons and ceased production late 2020. It was a showcase competition for established, professional Chinese singers. The show was recorded totally live. The technical and production values were second-to-none with the best technicians, producers, stage managers, directors, musicians, backup singers, and orchestra all directed and masterminded by conductor and maestro. The pressure and stress on competitors who had to learn and perform a new song each week; and for all to deliver at such a level (arranging/producing/directing, rehearsing) weekly episodes (12-14 episodes per season), for between 12+ singers each episode, every week across each season must have been immense. Chinese music shows in general, are next level. FYI Dimash competed on the show in 2017 - this performance of Show Must Go On is from this show - Dimash was invited as a wildcard (he was totally unknown in China), was the youngest and the first foreigner to ever appear on the show and for that reason wasn’t expected to go far - he surprised everyone and was runner up an overnight star in China and global phenomenon. The other competitors that you saw backstage were as a rule fantastic - the gobsmacked group sitting on the couch were the ‘Lion’ band - brilliant musicians.
Yes, that show "I am singer" originally started in Korea, but the Chinese paid for the franchise rights to the show when the Korean show was so popular in China. And dimash should have won the competition that season, but I think he got runner up because they wanted a Chinese national to win the title.

It's a competition, the best one I've ever seen on TV with all professional singers who were invited to compete: "The Singer" (aka "I Am Singer") from China. Dimash made 13 performances. This was number 4. He'd already sung in French, Russian, and Chinese, so time for English!
Tony, This was from the 2017 Chinese talent show, 'I Am Singer'. Dimash was the show's first foreigner with NO chance to beat out the other performers, all established singers. The audience was experienced judges (Yeah, I didn't think so either). For the best experience, listen to all of his performances for this show, chronologically and remember, SOMEBODY had to go on after him ... :-). Enjoy.
Dimash was just learning English back in 2017. Prior to the show he only new how to say his name. He has really worked and improved. Still this performance is STELLAR! really love the replays!!! 👍 I've read in comments that hearing DQ in a hall thru a sound system is indescribable!! I hope to have that experience one day!!
I love your attitude to Dimash’s awesomeness. I never get tired of people who are in the music industry who can explain things that Dimash does that make him so unique. You are only at the beginning of the Dimash journey. You will find great pleasure in watching his progress. When he performs in his live concerts, most of the time he has his own band who are absolutely epic, especially his percussionist, Ilya. I have never taken any notice of a percussionist before, but he is also unique and totally worthy of playing for Dimash. All his band are. Many of his performances are just enhanced to even greater levels by his band. While I think it’s best to take the Dimash journey in order to really appreciate how he has taken his perfection from these initial Chinese “I am a Singer” performances and continues over the years to go to higher and higher levels of perfection, his performances on his Digital Concert where there is no audience, just Dimash and his band, are excellent for appreciating his musicians. My favourite song from Singer is Autumn Strong which he does a little differently all the time and all are awesome. “Hello” is especially brilliant with the beautiful addition of a Kazakh style flute. All concert versions of “All By Myself” are spectacular, plays with his voice a lot, (Singer version quite tame in comparison) His best performance that showcases a lot of different things is “Love is Like a Dream”. Make sure the one in the burgundy velvet suit, sitting in a stool with just Igor (famous composer who came out of retirement just to write music specifically for Dimash’s voice). Really special song that absolutely melts me at the knees. Oh and I mustn’t forget his vocalise versions of “know”. Musicians in that are awesome, starting with single notes on a keyboard and gradually building the instrument backing till the “rock” style ending. I might try and find a link to the best musical version of that as some versions the music is more subtle. I could rave on for hours. I am a totally addicted Dimashified Dear. Never in all my 67 years of loving music have I have been so affected by one performer. I barely listen to anyone else, when I do it’s just a few songs then I have to come back to Dimash. He is so versatile, every genre, style, range, you never get bored, but every song has so much variety of all those things in just the one song, that other singers, even though excellent, just seem sort of empty and plain. I hope you do lots more Dimash, if you do the full journey, many Dears will follow you as we love watching people get blown away and get great pleasure like proud parents. I am not really interested in general reactions, but want ones from people in the industry so that I can learn things. 💕💕

Saludos desde Chile, este fue un concurso, The Singer 2017 en China, Dimash fue el invitado internacional en este, obtuvo el 2 lugar pues el numero 1 debía ser ganado por China. en este concurso Dimash canto varios cover, tenia solo 1 canción propia que podía cantar, las canciones fueron SOS, Opera 2, Show Must Go On, Autumn Strong, Uptown Funk, Adagio, Daididau (canción tradicional de su pais Kazajistán), Daybreak (canción popular China, basada en una historia real), All By Myself, Unforgettable Day (canción propia), Confessa - Diva Dance (aquí canto 2 la segunda una vocalización perteneciente a una pieza que canto una supuesta alienígena en la película El Quinto Elemento, la cual fue compuesta computacionalmente para hacerla mas creíble en el sentido que no podría ser cantada por un humano), Hello, Earth Song (en esta fue acompañado por una cantante china), Give Me Love. A la fecha Dimash a cantado en 14 idiomas y ademas de ser cantautor y musico toca varios instrumentos, piano, batería Xilófono e instrumentos de cuerdas de todo tipo, este fue su ultimo concurso, posteriormente estuvo en diferentes presentaciones en varios paises y luego comenzó con sus propios conciertos, durante la pandemia tuvo un concierto digital y este año volvió a dar conciertos en vivo en Dubái, Dusseldorf y Praga
You're very entertaining to watch! This was episode 3 of I Am Singer. First was SOS (which he won), 2nd was Opera 2 (which he also won) and this was 3rd (he didn't win this one). The next one he won was episode 6 - Adagio - which is amazing! I think there were 12 episodes, of which he won 3 and came in 2nd overall.

The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home. This competition is not a talent show. Only professional, award-winning singers participate. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after his first song "SOS" Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers and a mega-star was born overnight. The next day, bodyguards stood in front of his door. "The Show Must Go On" was the 3. song in the competition. Participants have one week to learn the lyrics and arrange the song. Dimash did not speak English at this point. The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". They were well screened to be sure they would be able to judge the musicians fairly and competently. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to UA-cam ... and so we became Dimash's Dears. The Chinese organizers planned... but Dimash came, sang and stayed ... for the next 3 years in China ... but he only finished second in the competition because he is not Chinese (conditions have changed: 2018, Jessie J. won). Its the same reality show from over 5 years ago, he was in China for 4 months in this show for the very best vocalists. Dimash was the youngest at 22 years old. He was made to perform very different songs for each of the 13 episodes, plus gala shows each year for 2017, 2018, 2019. Dimash made this song to be different from the original Queen song and Brian May congratulated him on his performance. His English was non existent in 2017 but he now speaks it very well. Dimash arranged all his songs in this show, I Am Singer. You should react to the 2019 performance of Dimash with the Super Vocal Boys of an amazing Queen Medley

Dimash literally envelopes your very soul with his intense communication, which just happens to be with musical notes, but the notes are just his “paint brush” . This is one of Dimash's performances in 2017 from the 'I Am A Singer' competition in China. This is the show that Dimash joined as a 'wild card' from Kazakhstan. All of the rest of the competitors were Chinese and well known singers. He opened the show as the youngest performer with the song S.O.S. - which is the performance that made Dimash world wide famous and got his fan base that is called 'Dears'. This performance is stellar and members of 'Queen' commented on how good it was. Thank you for checking it out. This is Chinese show "Singer"/"I am Singer" (this is the 2017 series). You should watch various acts on this show from different years. The Production is stunning. Recommend his guest appearance with Super Vocal Boys on 2019 Series Final. They did a Queen Medley. Also recommend Hua Chenyu on Singer 2018 doing "Nunchucks". (fun intro to him). Many fans of Dimash are fans if Hua Chenyu. Yes, Tommy is the guitarist. 👍

I always thought the orchestra must love playing for him. There were some talented singers on the Chinese competition but Dimash was a force. He came in second. The person with the big hair always had a defeated look on his face after Dimash performed. He was part of a four piece rock band and they came in third. They were pretty good. If you haven’t heard yet, try Adagio from this Singer competition. Some others..Ave Maria, Stranger, Fly Away all from New Wave. The 4 guys sitting together are a rock band who follows Dimash. Occasionally they show his dad reacting to the performance. A very pleasant-looking man who is a well-known crooner in Asia. Dimash's mother is a famous opera singer. BTW, all the other contestants' are professional performers. Dimash is just a special invitation. The only non-Chinese in the competition.
Love your take on Dimash as a music teacher! As an ex-marching band and orchestra member, I really appreciate the live orchestra in this show that accompies him. This is such a great version of this song, he really did make it his own! Keep up the good work, subscribed.

Like you, when I hear something so good I just start laughing because it seems so impossible and yet here we are hearing it from Dimash. A generational talent for sure. Dimash spoke very little English at this stage and learnt the song phonetically although this wouldn’t have been too difficult for him as Queen is one of his favourite bands. Here he is singing a Queen Medley as a guest of The Super Vocal Boys in 2018 who were appearing on the same show - The Singer - that Dimash competed on and came second in in 2017. I think the performance with the Supervocal Boys was later, in 2019. (In 2018 Dimash was invited back to an ending gala, where he sang 'Hello'. Yet another awesome, unique performance.)
t's like a guy wanted to misbehave, but his beloved father was sitting in the hall! and Freddie looked from heaven.. And musical education prevailed. But a miracle happened. All this is combined in him. Amazing eclecticism created by the Vocal Genius!

He has a few rock style songs in his concerts Dudaraz , Lay Down ,Screaming (some concerts he rocks it up much more than others, especially when he finishes the concert with it and makes it go about 20 minutes introducing each musician. I have to admit I’m not to fond of Lay down and the other two are in his mother tongue. It’s difficult for me to explain. A little more hard core rock, I guess. Dimash’s voice is incredibly gorgeous and he is so talented in so many ways. I myself know what I’m hoping to hear from him. Its just difficult to express. One of the great things about Dimash that I admire about his cover songs is that I feel the integrity of the original is preserved (intentionally and with respect) but with additional and just a few changes that keep us enthralled, anticipating. I have heard Freddie Mercury's version many times and I love it; It stands on its own merits and will remain so. But Dimash gives it a new dimension and I love that too. They stand side by side and I am sure Freddie Mercury, wherever he is, will applaud Dimash and say, " Wow!' "you did a great job with that!"

Dimash was the youngest of them. Its organizers invited him themselves.Dimash sang "SOS d'un terrien en détresse" in the competition he was supposed to sing first. There were eight singers, it will go on to seven. Dimash passed. Each day, one participant receives a cup and one leaves the project. There are 14 cups in total. This means that you have to take part in 14 turns. The winner is the one who receives the most cups. New singers join along the way.The peculiarity of the project is that the cameras in real mode observe your every move, film how you eat, how you behave In 2017, Dimash's competitors were very strong, experienced singers, multiple winners of the "China Music World", "M T V Awards" and others.
The peculiarity of this show is that the singer is not limited to performing the song on stage, he is constantly under real-time supervision.The main requirements for the singer in the project "I am a Singer":
1. A singer must win the hearts of the audience.
2. He has to show his new face every time.
3. To perform in a new style, in a new genre.
4. Sing Live.
The winner in each round is selected by 500 spectators aged 20-60 sitting in the hall. Each viewer has the right to vote for three singers. These 500 viewers no longer vote in other rounds. In each turn, the singers receive a total of 1,500 votes. In the first round, Dimash received 78% of the votes, ie 1170 votes out of 1500 !!!After January 21, they lost the possibility of a "normal" walk in China! It’s a Chinese TV show called “I Am Singer” All the contestants are famous singers in China, all great singers btw. Dimash was the youngest (22) and the first ever foreigner invited to compete, he was totally unknown by the audience and the other contestants. All the contestants are only allowed to sing covers, apart from one of the fourteen week series when they are allowed to sing one of their own songs. The 500 people in the audience are the same each week, they are all part of the music industry and they are the judges. They vote each week and the contestant with the lowest vote goes home. Each contestant is assigned their own vocal coach and the contestants have a say in the arrangements etc Dimash is very set in what he wants even if the advice is against it! They try and advise him on the arrangement, but if he doesn’t like it, he gets his own way, he really does know what’s best for the song he’s going to be singing! Dimash came second in the competition, it’s a state run competition and I think at that time a Chinese national had to win since 2017 was the first time they’d invited a foreigner to compete and they were expecting Dimash to go by the second week. The following year 2018 they changed the rules and Jessie J from England won. Dimash became very famous in China and Asia on the back of this competition. After his first performance of SOS was aired, it was downloaded 600 million times on Chinese Social Media and he became a superstar overnight.
Episode 6 of the competition was the highlight for me, when Dimash sang Adagio (a Lara Fabian song, Lara is Dimash’s idol). That has to be one of the greatest performances of all time by any artist. It is that amazing! Lara went on to write the lyrics for one of Dimash’s songs composed by Krutoy in 2020, Your Love. Dimash’s childhood dream came true in 2019 when he got to perform with Lara at Igor’s 65th Birthday concert. They sang Ti Amo Cosi in a trio with another artist, Aida Garifullina.

Yes, it's very hard to focus on anything else when Dimash is singing. He has an epic rock voice that we never hear enough of, just glimpses here and there.

As a music director Tony you might be interested to know that this Chinese show, The Singer, ran for 8 seasons and ceased production late 2020. It was a showcase competition for established, professional Chinese singers. The show was recorded totally live. The technical and production values were second-to-none with the best technicians, producers, stage managers, directors, musicians, backup singers, and orchestra all directed and masterminded by conductor and maestro. The pressure and stress on competitors who had to learn and perform a new song each week; and for all to deliver at such a level (arranging/producing/directing, rehearsing) weekly episodes (12-14 episodes per season), for between 12+ singers each episode, every week across each season must have been immense. Chinese music shows in general, are next level.
FYI Dimash competed on the show in 2017 - this performance of Show Must Go On is from this show - Dimash was invited as a wildcard (he was totally unknown in China), was the youngest and the first foreigner to ever appear on the show and for that reason wasn’t expected to go far - he surprised everyone and was runner up an overnight star in China and global phenomenon.
The other competitors that you saw backstage were as a rule fantastic - the gobsmacked group sitting on the couch were the ‘Lion’ band - brilliant musicians.
Yes, that show "I am singer" originally started in Korea, but the Chinese paid for the franchise rights to the show when the Korean show was so popular in China. And dimash should have won the competition that season, but I think he got runner up because they wanted a Chinese national to win the title.

He does not only HIT that, but he sustains it, belting high mixed , belting after belting , hold the note then go higher!
Vocally, he is off the chart compared to other worldwide vocalists! The power of his crafts is huge! Strong chest voice, strong tenor, strong head voice, strong coloratura, strong belting, long holding note, change key in the middle of the note.

It's a competition, the best one I've ever seen on TV with all professional singers who were invited to compete: "The Singer" (aka "I Am Singer") from China. Dimash made 13 performances. This was number 4. He'd already sung in French, Russian, and Chinese, so time for English!

Tony, This was from the 2017 Chinese talent show, 'I Am Singer'. Dimash was the show's first foreigner with NO chance to beat out the other performers, all established singers. The audience was experienced judges (Yeah, I didn't think so either). For the best experience, listen to all of his performances for this show, chronologically and remember, SOMEBODY had to go on after him ... :-).

Dimash was just learning English back in 2017. Prior to the show he only new how to say his name. He has really worked and improved. Still this performance is STELLAR! really love the replays!!! 👍 I've read in comments that hearing DQ in a hall thru a sound system is indescribable!! I hope to have that experience one day!!

I love your attitude to Dimash’s awesomeness. I never get tired of people who are in the music industry who can explain things that Dimash does that make him so unique. You are only at the beginning of the Dimash journey. You will find great pleasure in watching his progress. When he performs in his live concerts, most of the time he has his own band who are absolutely epic, especially his percussionist, Ilya. I have never taken any notice of a percussionist before, but he is also unique and totally worthy of playing for Dimash. All his band are. Many of his performances are just enhanced to even greater levels by his band. While I think it’s best to take the Dimash journey in order to really appreciate how he has taken his perfection from these initial Chinese “I am a Singer” performances and continues over the years to go to higher and higher levels of perfection, his performances on his Digital Concert where there is no audience, just Dimash and his band, are excellent for appreciating his musicians. My favourite song from Singer is Autumn Strong which he does a little differently all the time and all are awesome. “Hello” is especially brilliant with the beautiful addition of a Kazakh style flute. All concert versions of “All By Myself” are spectacular, plays with his voice a lot, (Singer version quite tame in comparison) His best performance that showcases a lot of different things is “Love is Like a Dream”. Make sure the one in the burgundy velvet suit, sitting in a stool with just Igor (famous composer who came out of retirement just to write music specifically for Dimash’s voice). Really special song that absolutely melts me at the knees. Oh and I mustn’t forget his vocalise versions of “know”. Musicians in that are awesome, starting with single notes on a keyboard and gradually building the instrument backing till the “rock” style ending. I might try and find a link to the best musical version of that as some versions the music is more subtle. I could rave on for hours. I am a totally addicted Dimashified Dear. Never in all my 67 years of loving music have I have been so affected by one performer. I barely listen to anyone else, when I do it’s just a few songs then I have to come back to Dimash. He is so versatile, every genre, style, range, you never get bored, but every song has so much variety of all those things in just the one song, that other singers, even though excellent, just seem sort of empty and plain. I hope you do lots more Dimash, if you do the full journey, many Dears will follow you as we love watching people get blown away and get great pleasure like proud parents. I am not really interested in general reactions, but want ones from people in the industry so that I can learn things. 💕💕

Saludos desde Chile, este fue un concurso, The Singer 2017 en China, Dimash fue el invitado internacional en este, obtuvo el 2 lugar pues el numero 1 debía ser ganado por China. en este concurso Dimash canto varios cover, tenia solo 1 canción propia que podía cantar, las canciones fueron SOS, Opera 2, Show Must Go On, Autumn Strong, Uptown Funk, Adagio, Daididau (canción tradicional de su pais Kazajistán), Daybreak (canción popular China, basada en una historia real), All By Myself, Unforgettable Day (canción propia), Confessa - Diva Dance (aquí canto 2 la segunda una vocalización perteneciente a una pieza que canto una supuesta alienígena en la película El Quinto Elemento, la cual fue compuesta computacionalmente para hacerla mas creíble en el sentido que no podría ser cantada por un humano), Hello, Earth Song (en esta fue acompañado por una cantante china), Give Me Love. A la fecha Dimash a cantado en 14 idiomas y ademas de ser cantautor y musico toca varios instrumentos, piano, batería Xilófono e instrumentos de cuerdas de todo tipo, este fue su ultimo concurso, posteriormente estuvo en diferentes presentaciones en varios paises y luego comenzó con sus propios conciertos, durante la pandemia tuvo un concierto digital y este año volvió a dar conciertos en vivo en Dubái, Dusseldorf y Praga

You're very entertaining to watch! This was episode 3 of I Am Singer. First was SOS (which he won), 2nd was Opera 2 (which he also won) and this was 3rd (he didn't win this one). The next one he won was episode 6 - Adagio - which is amazing! I think there were 12 episodes, of which he won 3 and came in 2nd overall.

Participants in the 'The Singer' competition had a week to learn and arrange the song that has been chosen for them. Dimash didn't speak a word of English at the time and only learned the lyrics phonetically. It was the 3rd song in the competition.

In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old). Foreign participants were actually forbidden until then. The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home.
This competition is not a talent show. Only professional, award-winning singers participate. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after his first song "SOS" Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers and a mega-star was born overnight. The next day, bodyguards stood in front of his door.
"The Show Must Go On" was the 3. song in the competition. Participants have one week to learn the lyrics and arrange the song. Dimash did not speak English at this point.
The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". They were well screened to be sure they would be able to judge the musicians fairly and competently. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to UA-cam ... and so we became Dimash's Dears.
The Chinese organizers planned... but Dimash came, sang and stayed ... for the next 3 years in China ... but he only finished second in the competition because he is not Chinese (conditions have changed: 2018, Jessie J. won).

Its the same reality show from over 5 years ago, he was in China for 4 months in this show for the very best vocalists. Dimash was the youngest at 22 years old. He was made to perform very different songs for each of the 13 episodes, plus gala shows each year for 2017, 2018, 2019. Dimash made this song to be different from the original Queen song and Brian May congratulated him on his performance. His English was non existent in 2017 but he now speaks it very well. Dimash arranged all his songs in this show, I Am Singer. You should react to the 2019 performance of Dimash with the Super Vocal Boys of an amazing Queen Medley

This is one of Dimash's performances in 2017 from the 'I Am A Singer' competition in China. This is the show that Dimash joined as a 'wild card' from Kazakhstan. All of the rest of the competitors were Chinese and well known singers. He opened the show as the youngest performer with the song S.O.S. - which is the performance that made Dimash world wide famous and got his fan base that is called 'Dears'. This performance is stellar and members of 'Queen' commented on how good it was. Thank you for checking it out. This is Chinese show "Singer"/"I am Singer" (this is the 2017 series). You should watch various acts on this show from different years. The Production is stunning. Recommend his guest appearance with Super Vocal Boys on 2019 Series Final. They did a Queen Medley. Also recommend Hua Chenyu on Singer 2018 doing "Nunchucks". (fun intro to him). Many fans of Dimash are fans if Hua Chenyu. Yes, Tommy is the guitarist. 👍

I always thought the orchestra must love playing for him. There were some talented singers on the Chinese competition but Dimash was a force. He came in second. The person with the big hair always had a defeated look on his face after Dimash performed. He was part of a four piece rock band and they came in third. They were pretty good. If you haven’t heard yet, try Adagio from this Singer competition. Some others..Ave Maria, Stranger, Fly Away all from New Wave. The 4 guys sitting together are a rock band who follows Dimash. Occasionally they show his dad reacting to the performance. A very pleasant-looking man who is a well-known crooner in Asia. Dimash's mother is a famous opera singer. BTW, all the other contestants' are professional performers. Dimash is just a special invitation. The only non-Chinese in the competition.
Love your take on Dimash as a music teacher! As an ex-marching band and orchestra member, I really appreciate the live orchestra in this show that accompies him. This is such a great version of this song, he really did make it his own! Keep up the good work, subscribed.

Dimash spoke very little English at this stage and learnt the song phonetically although this wouldn’t have been too difficult for him as Queen is one of his favourite bands.
Here he is singing a Queen Medley as a guest of The Super Vocal Boys in 2018 who were appearing on the same show - The Singer - that Dimash competed on and came second in in 2017. Fantastic performance from all the boys with incredible harmonies:

I think the performance with the Supervocal Boys was later, in 2019. (In 2018 Dimash was invited back to an ending gala, where he sang 'Hello'. Yet another awesome, unique performance.)
t's like a guy wanted to misbehave, but his beloved father was sitting in the hall! and Freddie looked from heaven.. And musical education prevailed. But a miracle happened. All this is combined in him. Amazing eclecticism created by the Vocal Genius!

He has a few rock style songs in his concerts Dudaraz , Lay Down ,Screaming (some concerts he rocks it up much more than others, especially when he finishes the concert with it and makes it go about 20 minutes introducing each musician. In a couple of his concerts he does an awesome rock Dombra performance. I will try to find you a link

Lorraine Keenan Hi, thanks Lorraine for your comment. I know those are Dimash’s rock songs but I’m thinking more like American rock. I have to admit I’m not to fond of Lay down and the other two are in his mother tongue. It’s difficult for me to explain. A little more hard core rock, I guess. Dimash’s voice is incredibly gorgeous and he is so talented in so many ways. I myself know what I’m hoping to hear from him. Its just difficult to express. Either way, love Dimash no matter what he sings! 😊
