- Here is my fight preview and tactical breakdown for Benavidez vs Andrade. I think this should be a really interesting fight stylistically. Andrade is known to be a very fast starter and could very well hurt Benavidez in the early rounds. Or it could completely swing in David's favor with his relentless pressure and smart counter-punching himself.

Hats off to Benavidez for even taking this fight when he didn’t have to. This is how you become great and become a legend.
Andrade isn't some killer. He's completely untested against championship caliber and is out here getting going sloppy rounds and getting staggered up against small face first middleweight gatekeeper Liam Williams and got dropped by a rando journeyman in his 168 debut. Morrell would've been the more intriguing fight and Bivol would have been the actual next level risk.
When Demetrius Andrade gets any sort of credit, here comes the Canelo stans like the sour puss' they are 😂
@@californio1850 I guess Andrade is the easiest fight and most avoided fighter at 160/168 then. Also, Morrell hasn’t faced any championship caliber opponents either so looks like him and Andrade have something in common then.
@@jjsheets330Well they do lol you said it. Andrade has skills, but at this level it’ll all go away in the later rounds. Andrade doesn’t have a single opponent close to Benavidez. It’s too much of a jump .

Andrade's best chance against the Benevidez is to score points early, control the distance like Shakur, improve endurance and master counter punching while goin backwards and pivoting in the later rounds because thats when the monster comes out to play.

Even if Benavidez loses he should get the Canelo fight, but I don't see him lose. Andrade already had the option I think to fight Canelo, it's not like everyone fears him lmao.
*This is a cool video. Couple things that "the masses" say that I don't agree with but to each his own. One thing I will say is people think the so called flaws Andrade has & gets away with is due to opposition. Everybody has habits but his ability to make adjustments is one of his more under mentioned qualities. & that's all Ima give. 🤐*

Yeah fair point. I think he is a very good at being able to adjust in most cases. While I feel his opponents really struggle to figure him out for the most part. And you have to give him credit for that.

I saw a video where Andrade spoke on not finishing opponents and "fading" late in the fight. "They got lives and families too. I drop them, hurt them and i dont wanna serioudly hurt them so i show the finesse and skills i have." So im curious to see what happens when he needs to be 100%, 100% of the time lol solid video
Interesting, personally I think he just gets tired and would rather not put himself in a position to get countered or give his opponent a chance to get back in the fight. Glad you enjoyed it!
@@BoxingLife I would say I agree with that to an extent. Definitely see why you'd see it that way man. But maybe it's worked to his favor as well. He's taken zero punishment in his career by not putting himself in those positions if not needed. Maybe he'll be the next Andre Ward lol Im no boxer, but I'd probably take my foot off the gas if I was miles ahead talent wise and in the cards. Needless to say I'm super excited and this has the makings to be fight if the year. A-Team all the way!
That's him coming up with lame excuses lol. The dude doesn't have good ring generalship and gets sloppy. Like when he dropped Liam Williams and followed up by rushing in to try to finish him off but his punches were sloppy and missed most of them. The dude usually hurts these lower tier guys by throwing winging shots (which would get countered by a fighter with skills) but like I said, he can get sloppy with his work then reset and try to box but he doesn't really integrate his offense with defense so he mostly just postures ineffectively then switch it up and launch his winging punch attacks again. Meanwhile the dude often throws his winging and lunging shots with his hands low and leaves himself out of position and off balance a lot, and he gets staggered up by these lower tier guys, yet people act like he's some slick killer lol.

You'll see what you wanna see man and if he was as bad as you try to make him out to be, he wouldn't have been an Olympian, wouldn't have won't back to back world amateurs, wouldn't be 32-0, wouldn't be a three time, two-division champ. Wouldn't be too 3 for least punches taken, Name another bum that did that dude. You can't. Just be happy for the fight, potentially fight if the year

Given that Benavidez couldn't stop Caleb Plant who is perhaps at the same level of BooBoo, here are some points that BooBoo has an upper-hand. Angle, Footwork, Adjustment, Knock Down Shots, Creativity, Defense. Also BooBoo's got the size. BooBoo is the top 3 best defensive boxer amongst Dmitry Bivol and Shakur Stevenson. It's logical to predict that BooBoo will stand better with Benavidez than Caleb Plant. Which means it will go the distance and it will be a very close 50-50 fight. I think BooBoo will score a flash knock down and will more rounds by points. Let's say 7 rounds including a 10-8 round. 115-112 BooBoo. But the boxing politics might give it to Benavidez a victory or a draw. My early prediction.
Lol and how did that help Plant? Since he wasn't stopped he just got a bigger beating up til the end.. This fight could be similar. I was sure Benavidez was gonna win, but now I'm doubting, still think he wins tho, after a hard and maybe close fight.. It's just hard to figure out how good Andrade really is, since he hasn't fought the best boxers..

Benavedez is like a robot he walk strait in to punchers he depend on his size
His style is more advanced than what you think. You just have to watch closely the subtle things that he does. He comes in a straight line with his guard up to offer a "target" to the opponent only to counter them or land his combinations. His size is definitely an advantage, but he knows what he is doing in there.
And even then I've never seen his Defense be penetrated too much.
Hell take a jab here and there but his defense is Good.

@@jorge5275 His defense is respectable for a guy as active as Benavidez. Most people think that because he is not feinting, or moving his head etc, he got no defense, but he is not that easy to hit. Canelo gets hit more now than in the past for sure.

Andrade absolutely needs to come right at Benavidez and press him back. Benavidez has been allowed to continually walk down squared up and just tee off on fighters. Plant tried to press but didn’t avoid punches well enough. I think Andrade has better defensive skills off of attacks but still no easy task taking the punishment that will land from Benavidez. Better be in prime shape to have any chance.
Yea, but easier said than done 4sure lol, Benavidez isn't going backwards.. Plant fought good for like 6rounds but Benavidez was smart and saved his energy to put up the pace in the 2nd half, and that worked perfectly. Partly cuz Plant already exhausted himself. I think Plant's strategy wasn't very good tho, he did really well against Canelo imo, despite being stopped, like with the shoulder roll defense, but didn't use that against Benavidez. U really can't fight that guy with ur hands down lol.. Wonder if Andrade can/will do better, I think Benavidez wins this one too and i put 200euro on it already but withdrew it cuz i started doubting now, it might not be as easy for Benavidez as I thought. I'm mostly right with my predictions tho and i still think Benavidez does win, after a competitive fight, but not sure if it's worth the risk..
Now that booboo is older, i have david winning this one as he 's more agressive and the busier puncher then his height is always his advantage but the you can never tell. We'll see how this plays out🙃

Benavidez is just too big and strong. Andrade’s style is great against club fighters, but will fail miserably against a powerhouse like DB. TKO in the 5th or 6th round.

Bradley is 100% right- I love Benavidez but he squares up too often and keeps his head on the centerline. He offers too much of a target, even with the high guard in place.
Benavidez also uses this as way to draw guys in and counter them. While I agree it doesn’t look great at times. It’s been working for him and I felt he wasn’t as bad in the Plant fight at doing this.
The funny part is Andrade also tends to wing shots with his hands low, and he can actually be more reckless about it with the way he launches into them and often leaves himself out of position and off balance.
@@californio1850 good point; if Benavidez can time him low with a left uppercut during his momentum, he'll probably clip him. But, he'll have to bend down so if he misses he's open for a counter from Andrade's right hand.
I think the difference is, Andrade only throws those wild shots when he can’t be countered. It may look sloppy, but you never see him off balance and getting hit at the same time.

I often watch Andrade boxing, most of Andrade's boxing style is not sporty, where most of Andrade is afraid and looks down until his test almost hits the ring floor. Not nice to watch.

Andrade has been too inactive to take this fight now, but due to being avoided for many years and divisions, I understand why. Andre Ward should join Andrade camp, share some of that Kovalev knowledge. This is a loose, loose fight for Andrade. If Andrade loses, give Clenelo the perfect excuse to continue to duck him and retire, with false, empty calories accolades.

Andrade does not have a similar style to Plant! Andrade is a boxer puncher. Andrade excels in the mid-range, is a combination puncher, throws from different angles, and uses lateral movement. He can also switch. Plant is mostly a counter puncher and a mid-range hooker who is a technical boxer. I got Andrade by UD, that uppercut from Andrade will be a huge factor in this fight.
