    ABOUT THIS VIDEO
    With my plans of getting a train to London for some Street Photography put off
    by strong winds and rain I decided to stay at home and visit a local Forest.
    I wanted to try out Rollei Retro 400 120mm film in my Zeiss Ikon Nettar and also try out a roll of Ilford HP5 from 1997.
    Whilst I wanted to try something different with the double exposure it didn't quite come out as intended. In fact, I didn't even know what intended was!
    However, It's always useful to try new things, fail and learn.
    The 1997 HP5 was interesting. I shot this at box speed (400) having previously had great results shooting expired film at box speed but with this one the images came out darker than expected, should have over exposed by a couple of stops! Better safe than sorry!
    The stand development I wanted to try out on this film and compare it to D76 normal development. Hardly any difference except I noticed the stand gave grainier negatives and I also saw slight Bromide drag.

    Are you sure that the leak happened when it was in the tank, because the end of the film would have been loaded first and the first photo last, also the repetition looks like it was in the take-up reel on the camera. So sometime after you unloaded the spool, the light leaked under the edge of the spool, as the first image is perfect. that is my penny's worth. great photos though.

    • @perelandrauk
      @perelandrauk 5 років тому +5

      I was thinking exactly that, I don't think its a light leak in the tank or camera, thats a loose bit of winding when the film is out of the camera I reckon

      @ShootFilmLikeaBoss  5 років тому +3

      Cripes! You're right. That's the last frame on the inside! I think Mads is on the ball, loose winding on the spool at the start of loading. Thanks.

      Yup, it happens sometimes when you're taking film out of camera, it's a bit loose and you squeeze it with fingers a bit too hard :/

    The way I GOT LOST in photography was losing interest in the darkroom vs collecting cameras. I have so many cameras I don’t even shoot anymore. So last week I decided to shoot just my 1947 Speed Graphic as my normal camera to get back into FILM 🎞 and Darkroom process. This channel, The Naked Photographer and Borut Peterlin woke me back up. Thanks 🙏

    I left a tank lid outside once. Sat there for about half an hour trying to figure out what to do. Anyway took my trousers off, put the tank inside the trousers and wrapped it all up, followed by my shirt and jumper. I then had to leg it through the house in my boxers to go get the lid!

    Fab video as usual. Full of humour, and humility. Not many UA-camrs would admit they'd done a bad image (or something they didn't like) - they'd just try and convince everyone it's good. Polishing a t... Well, you know. Glad to hear George is on the mend. Poor thing.

    You've given me some Cameron Park flashbacks. I got lost a time or three before learning my way around out there. That was over twenty years ago. Back then only a few trails were marked, and there were no online maps. It's been too long since I've been out there. Now that I'm getting back into film photography, I need to get back out there. With twenty miles of hiking/biking/bridal trails spread over 400 acres I ought to be able to find a few shots at least.

    i finally got round to trying that 35mm ROLLEI RETRO 400S you kindly sent me -- WOW ! it is CONTRASTY - as to be expected as designed for Aerial Photography where from the Sky the land below is soft in contrast . I tried my Home-Made FX-37 1+9 dilution for 13 mins - next strip will try my Home-Made 510-Pyro -- Keeping in The Warm as it is MINUS 2 outside and I don't want another stay in BASILDON HOSPITAL -- mind YOU -- their Chicken Tikka Masala is GREAT !

I used to do jungle exploration in Mexico and since phone coverage is not working deep in the woods,a real GPS will surely send you back to your car...as long as you log the coordinates of the car :D :D :D

    I've heard that if you make a double exposure in camera...... You half the first exposure and make up the rest of the time with the second exposure. Maybe... That rule applies for a darkroom print too?
