How are you guys allowed to advertise a product by explaining how to circumvent another business T&Cs? Netflix says its against their policy to change your country unless you live there. They have differing license agreements, so you are literally advertising the theft of property... extremely unethical, considering it only serves to benefit y'all more by influencing people to watch content they don't have to pay for. Ne6flix sucks in Australia, so you don't get it. You purchase the content that isn't licensed to it.
Zeb looks PHENOMENAL in this. Like, he moves so realistically, I had trouble perceiving him as CG. Something about the various natural movements his face and hands made.
As much as I love the various use of puppets throughout the show, I'm VERY glad they opted for CG in creating Zeb. He's too physically complicated to be pulled off convincingly otherwise. And the fact that he's fully animated made it so that Steve Blum's voice could be accurately synced to the mouth movements (unlike the Pirate King, which felt Muppety when he spoke). Really loved this look for Zeb as he just felt like a totally natural part of the world around him.
I loved the base where Zeb was hanging out. It had a real late 60s/early 70s Vietnam vibe with the palm trees, psychedelic rock, and design of the buildings.
I like how uncomfortable Bo is before and after removing her helmet, as though, even though she feels like an outsider, she doesn't want to lose this found family. She averts her eyes from the Armorer and the other children of the watch a majority of the time after removing her helmet.
Ohhhh man i dunno i think shes afraid armorer saw through her i-have-seen-the-light-and-now-want-to-be-a-part-of-your-dumb-cult act. Great acting on actress's part both ways but shes hiding something!
11:23 Ezra made a hobby out of collecting Imperial helmets in Star Wars Rebels. The trophy display in the bar may have been a nod to that. Perhaps it was set up by Zeb as a small tribute to his lost friend.
Great episode, it felt like a classic season 1 episode and then ballooned into a really important episode for the last couple minutes and tied everything so far together.
I honestly thought that when the armorer walked bo katan outside without her helmet at the end of the episode, she was going to get her to challenge din for the dark saber. I’m surprised she’s being sent out to unite her people while din still has possession of the saber and I feel like that has to come into play at some point this season
That's too much to happen right now. Din doesn't know how to use the Saber while Bo is good at it. We gotta have our "training montage" with... Luke? Ashoka? No, No, I bet with Bo Katan. Yeah that's it! We gotta wait for Din to get better first. Notice how he hasn't used it much? I bet somewhere around the end of the season we'll see their fight.
My thinking is that Mythosaur trumps Darksaber, so she'll get the Mythosaur and he'll get to keep the Darksaber, and they'll continue working together instead of against each other. I like the thought of them being co-leaders.
One thing that makes me think the Armorer is changing her stance is the metaphor of the forge. She talks about how grand the forge on mandalore was and then how different the forge in the covert is, “But it is still a forge.” It serves the same purpose. That seems to be the moment she realizes that mandalorians may have different beliefs but they are still mandalorian.
My family and I love the Mandalorian. This episode was great, seeing Zeb from Rebels, the Mandalorians helping Nevarro, the Armorer naming Bo-Katan a leader that will unite all Mandalorians, and the escape of Moff Gideon. The Mandalorian continues to improve every season with new Star Wars content.
I feel like a squad of mandos could have easily neutralized those pirates. However watching the armorer beat down bad guys with beskar tools was pretty dope
If they were all deathwatch mandos then yeah. You got to remember this is probably the first time a lot of those mandalorians are fighting as a cohesive unit. The battle we see them and in the first season was more of just like a shoot anything that moves kind of deal LOL
And even for their first time in like a urban combat environment they did pretty damn well. I don't believe they suffered any casualties. I saw one or two get hit but I don't know if they died.
@TylerdaKid yes they shouldn't have died because they wear beskar armor, also they barely utilized their jet packs/rockets and other Mandalore weaponry.
@@GodKillerKRAT0S well not necessarily all of their armor is beskar, Din didn't have FULL beskar till like episode 3-4 of s1, some of them might just have really good armor. Or I could be best car that's painted. But I would assume it's likely that some of the younger mandalorians aren't wearing full beskar. But yeah that scene was dope. Might watch it again right now after I smoke a bowl LOL
@Darkstar go back and rewatch that scene, they do not fight as a team. That is a free-for-all. This was a military operation. They are completely different and you just want to be salty for no reason. This was one of the best episodes of the mandalorian and some of the coolest action we've ever gotten in Star Wars.
Worth mentioning that Hera will be in live action via the Ahsoka show, as footage of her was shown at Star Wars Celebration last year. So all surviving members of Ghost Crew will be in live action.
If you would have said to me that they were going to do that (the ugnaught part) I would've instantly shook my head and thought 'this is going to be stupid', and I would have been wrong. They pulled it off pretty well.
I LOVE your reviews. You always provide awesome cinephile theory and techniques in interesting and simple ways, along with historical notes and SO MUCH STAR WARS NERDINESS! And you get them up so quickly and professionally - thank you for your dedication!
One thing you may consider is that the Beskar left in the ship where they took Moff Guidian was planted by Thrawn forces to get the Republic against the Mandelorians. Remember they already tried to take Bo Katan out.
And the last thing you'd want is the person that people are trying to kill staying in your compound. The Armorer did right by trying to get Bo Kotan off planet, away from her people. If she's lucky, she'll send some other Mandolarians their way, If not, she's dead but they won't suffer.
A passing thought. Sabines Mando friend could have swiped up Moff in a bounty - her tactic for disabling ships and then breeching the hull was kinda how that shuttle looked. 😅
@@LethalxBassist I saw a video where they had a theory that since we see Zeb and know Sabine is coming (and is Mandalorian), they could have been undercover trying to find Gideon to get info on Thrawne so they broke him out, but to get info so they can find out what happened to Ezra.
@@pecosR0B Good theory, but why would she kill innocent Republic guards? The first thing that came to mind is that the dark troopers could have freed him. They're from Bescar, too.
@@LethalxBassist Do you mean Ketsu? Maybe, but it would be odd to bring her in so suddenly when they seem to be hinting that someone is purposefully trying to frame the Mandalorians.
Zebs cameo was so unexpected, and honestly got me so pumped. More than it should've but him ,and kanan were my favorite by far from rebels hope we one day see Jacen in live action.
A few things you seem to have missed: The New Republic airbase strongly resembles the one from the old show "Ba Ba Black Sheep" based on the real life pacific theater Black Sheep squadron who, get this, flew blue Corsair fighters against the Japanese. Secondly the helmets mounted above the bar combined with Zeb makes for a strong callback to Ezra's habit of collecting Stormtrooper helmets, which in later seasons Zeb helped contribute to.
Are we going to ignore the fact that the Ugnaught cockswain was very definitely an alien Smee? Even his little whimper when Gorian said to keep going as they lost their engines and shields, I laughed so hard at that :D I loved the episode, was invested in it the whole way through, and my heart was so happy for Bo when the Armorer took her back and basically told her "you're going to save our people, I believe you", after all she's done and been through, you know that meant a lot to Bo.
I don't see how Gideon would have been rescued by Mandalorian since they abandoned Bo for not having the dark Saber which Gideon also no longer has. I think it's a trick by Gideon to pitt the NR against the mandalorian. Loving this season so far ,and can't wait to see what happens.
I also think your idea could’ve true but it could just as likely simply be that some Mandalorian tribes are loyal to the empire. But I agree with you & I’d like to think Gideon is trying to trick the NR
@@andy9085 I don't think so the Mandalorians are a thorn in the Imperial Remnant's plans that's why they tried to take out Bo-Katan and now are trying to pit the Mandalorians against the New Republic. Let's not forget Moff Gideon is in possession of large amounts of Beskar ore. Seems like a plan right out of Thrawn's playbook.
I don't know about Bad Batch, but this season of Mando has been awful. The bad writing is so obvious at this point that it's become humorous. I particularly enjoyed the scene of the Mandos walking down the stairs, trying to look like they could see where they were going in those helmets without falling. This show might as well just be animated, because it's a cartoon.
I feel like Katie Sackhoff is doing the same. This show has become ultra-mid, but it still isn't as bad as Obi-Wan, where the calamity was so omnipresent that even Ewan's acting did nothing to help it. Really, it only made it worse, as it was a small glimpse of what a great show we could've had if it had been given the Andor treatment.
The Imperial Super Commandos ( led by Gar Saxon) were Mandalorian warriors loyal to the Galactic Empire. I think that there a few of them still around and they helped rescue the Moff
When the Armorer was talking to Bo Katan about how, even though the forge on Madalore is grand and ornate and the forge on Navaro is small and simple they serve the same overall purpose, I believe she was referring to Bo's royal heritage and the regular Madalorians as equals and all share the same purpose.
I had to take a double take, I couldn't believe they just casually threw Zeb in as an easter egg, he looked great. This season continues to get better and better.
I think you missed a hidden metaphor. When the armorer spoke of the great forge of Mandalore and the forge of the convert, it was a metaphor for the different tribes. Meaning that, while slightly different, they both do and are the same things.
Zeb and other pilots are wearing blue because as we see with Kazuda Xiono on Star Wars: Resistance, it's the uniform colour of the New Republic. The older pilots are probably just stubborn and nostalgic so they continue to wear orange. It's also why Paz Viszla calls Carson "Blue-boy" and Mando calls him "Blue".
Actually, Carson Teva said it was an beskar alloy, the same stuff Gideon's Dark Troopers were/are made of. Whereas the Mandalorian armor is made out of full beskar.
I was wondering about that. I thought Beskar was involved in the Dark Troopers but then I remembered Luke's lightsaber still cut through them like butter. Din needed the spear to pierce the armor. So the allow makes sense.
Not all of the Mandalorians have full beskar. Just look at how Din’s armor was destroyed in the first season before he found enough beskar to make an entire suit.
Or could it be a piece of Beskar that was planted to make it look like Mandalorians did it? Or maybe some Mando Mercs were hired to bust Gideon out, not knowing who he was?
Most Mandalorian armor at this time is not pure Beskar, but an alloy.. if it has any Beskar at all. Remember how easily Mando's was destroyed in Season1? And how much better it is now that most of it is pure Beskar?
I think the beskar is a red herring. The Empire stole a ton of Beskar after the purge as mentioned in season 1 and I doubt the Mandalorians would leave behind such a precious resource.
Yeah, and it would make sense that any normal person would see Beskar and immediately think it was Mandalorians that was responsible. Someone is probably gonna try and frame Din, Bo, and their group for it to make the New Republic try and go after them to get Gideon back, keeping them off the trail of whoever really rescued Gideon.
I think this is leading up to Din having to duel someone, either Gideon or an “evil” Mandolorian over the Dark Saber, then he loses it, but Bo-Katan wins it in a second duel, further cementing her leadership.
*Cara Dune being killed transporting Gideon would make sense..* During the episode, The Rescue in Season one, she was the one that basically was keeping Gideon in check after he was captured. It stands to reason she would personally escort him. Transporting a Moff to await trial is exactly something Special Forces would do. Lastly, nothing less than a Mandalorian would probably be needed to take her down. Sad to see her go, but killing her off would fuel Dinn to fight Gideon with renewed vengeance.
If Carson Teva has the rank of Captain, and Zeb is his superior officer, that means that Adelphi Rangers is probably commandeered by Zeb. It makes sense since Herra now has the rank of General, and we see the Ghost is every space battle from Scarif to exegal.
21:27 Kom'rk class Mandalorian ship is also known as a Gauntlet fighter. It's not the name of Bo-Katan's ship, but rather a secondary name for all ships of that type.
My theory is that Bo will eventually realize that she can't run this rally cry alone ,and that it's also Din's destiny to both be the ones to bring all mandalorian together.
Or she'll run the rally cry, backed by the armorer - only to run into the mythosaur who will be drawn to din, with the darksaber, who has learned to ride a small beast and grogu who tamed the mudhorn using force ability.
8:32 - The "Space Billiards" game was first scene in a cut scene from A New Hope. When Luke went to Tosche Station to tell his friends about the battle over head, you see characters playing this same game in the back ground
You didn't mention the exchange between Paz and Din. When it was announced that Bo Katan would unite the tribes. It was subtle but he looked questioningly back at Din and Din nodded in what I took as acceptance.
And don't forget that Gideon was hording Beskar ore as well. The Dark Troopers were built from a Beskar Alloy, hence the reason Din had trouble with the one he beat.
In all fairness, I think R5s story does make sense. He was on Tatooine for the prequels, was taken off world by his owner who joined the rebellion and subsequently was shot down while visiting home. Then the Jawas salvaged him and tried to sell him to Luke. Would also explain the damaged motivator and could be why he is so timid
At the end, with the big reveal of Gideon’s escape, I thought that it was Thrawn who broke him out via Imperial Mandalorians since Rebels showed us that they worked together during the Empire.
10:30 In the Resistance animated series the New Republic X-Wing pilots wear blue jump suits. And with some of the pilots including Zeb wearing the newer style "survival jacket" (the white vest) I think this is a subtle visual of the transition from rebel pilots to New Republic ones
I think it's by preference or it's their squadron color because in the movies and a lot of other series they wore orange and red and B-wing and A-wing pilots also wore blue and green.
As much as I love this season introducing a much bigger story. I do miss the one off Samurai Jack-esqe episodes with Din and Grogu encountering some random planet trying to help out their people.
Yeah both the Clone Wars and Rebels also followed that pattern. The first few seasons or so are more so rag-tag adventures that help establish the characters , relationships and character arcs that then act as a foundation for the wider story introduced later on. This season really seems to be establishing the larger plot of the Mandalorian as a whole and where things will go.
My first theory was that Sabine could have broke Gideon out to try to get Thrawns location to find Ezra. Hence the beskar embedded in the wall of the lambda.
THAT- actually makes quite a bit of sense, actually - I doubt it but it would be cool. And, I mean, I know she destroyed it but she did have a weapon that target only beskar, so that shard could even be like a guiding projectile for the blast
That theory makes no sense. She fought with the rebellion just like Zeb. Why wouldn’t she be able to just question Gideon without issue? You really think they’d have Sabine attacking and killing NR soldiers?😊
I am surprised that nobody makes the Starscream reference on the one pirate who left his leader to die. Its so classical Starscream but makes total sense why go down with the others if you can just leave.
@screencrush, hope you read this. I think I know who's behind the rescue of Moff Gideon and who's framing the Mandalorians with planing the Beskar on the destoryed cruiser Gideon was on. Remember "The Client" from Season 1 who rewarded Mando with the beskar needed to forge his armor? He is loyal to Moff Gideon, and had a supply of Beskar.
Loved it! This is so much Star Wars goodness. They are providing a great story for not only the casual fans...but rewarding the long time super fans as well.
The dark troopers Gideon ultizes are made out of beskar so it could be his own dark troopers that rescued him from the ship similar to their rescued attempt which was foiled when Luke came to the rescue in the season 2 finale.
Actually, they are made out of an beskar alloy, as found by Teva on the ship. This is why Luke was able to slice through them with his lightsaber. Mandalorian armor is made of full beskar and can withstand lightsabers.
I'm so glad you mentioned Pizza the Hutt become that is the exact vibe I kept getting from him, although in this guys case he was more like Seaweed/Kale the Hutt.
I don't know, he's more of like a blatant rip-off of Davy Jones from pirates of the Caribbean imo. Not that he wasn't cool, just the second I saw him I was like that's pretty much Davy Jones LOL
On the Astromech figures you can take out the scanning unit. Soooo its kinda implied that theyve always been that way. Luke just hadnt read the users manual.🤷🏻♀️
Hi, Ryan, big fan here. Your Star Wars videos are REALLY good and I never miss a single one. Doug is hilarious!!! I can't believe you missed the lady running away from the city carrying what looks like a camtono or Ice Cream machine. It was a very serious gag. Also, I want to point out that what you call a Pagoda is actually a Pagoda Arch, which is what they would have at the entrance of a pagoda as a gate, while the Pagoda itself is the building, many of which are several stories tall. But, your knowledge of religion and references to Judaism and christianism in the Mandalorian are spot-on. Please keep up the good work!!!
I loved this episode easily the best episode of the season so far. Specifically the part where the mandalorian are welcomed back to Navarro, and now even have lands to call their own. I want to see how this develops in the future.
It was clear to me that Bo Katan not saluting Grief like the other Mandos, was because of what he said about Navaro being their "Home". She obviously feels Mandalore is their "home" so hence not saluting the comment. Thumbs UP Ryan for the great content again.
Loving how the pagoda's damage from the pirates firing on the town left it looking like a giant sized replica of the Armourer's hammer. Just in time for the Mandalorians to be gifted the land. Great touch.
Excellent breakdown as always Ryan! It’s interesting the Armorer has been so embracing of Bo given how much she seemed to hate / blame her and her family for Mandalore falling until the last few episodes, especially since she doesn’t have the Dark Saber. The Dark Saber has also played a much less significant role than I thought it would, especially after Din was accepted back into the tribe. I assumed once this happened that Din would be the one they all looked to for leadership, but he seems to be playing a smaller and smaller role. I was also surprised she set Bo on the quest of uniting the various tribes without possessing the Dark Saber and wonder if they’re just going to abandon it’s significance altogether.
Lets face it. Din doesn't have the qualities to be a leader looking at the fact that he cant even wield the dark saber properly. Bo has the charisma and the ability to lead and unite the Mandalorians.
You keep calling Arch at the front of the city at Pagoda... But a pagoda is a tiered building. That classic Japanese style arch that they use as a reference here and in the force awakens is called a torii.
Has Ryan explained his distaste for Ezra before? I don't get it and would be curious to find out why. I mean, he grated on me a bit when I first started watching, but he grew on me a lot and I really enjoyed the Jedi parts of that show with him and Kanan.
1:54 Greef Karga should have set up some defenses while he was building the city. I was almost expecting those ground-based turbolasers from the Imperial base they destroyed to pop up somewhere.
What a great Star Wars episode. I'm loving the fast pace of this one. And the pirate ship crashing and blowing up was beautiful. This season has had a lot of great dog fights in the atmosphere and in space. Did the FX budget get increased?
I have a feeling that the R2 unit in the end is black n white as a nod towards the original theatrical release of Star Wars were R2 was black n white in the battle of yavin because the blue wouldn’t work against the bluescreen in the studio.
Going off the Blue Squadron thing, Hera was also General over Vanguard Squadron in the game Squadrons. So maybe she's overseeing the fighter squadrons and Zeb's Blue Leader under her?
Wow, the level of detail about touching that old action figure was both hilarious and so specific. I totally knew what he was talking about despite never having touched that particular toy myself. It's amazing how specific memories and sensations ar
Thanks for your knowledgeable input. I will admit that, although I love everything Star Wars, I am not versed in all of the lore and I miss many connections that you point out in this series. Sometimes I don't realize how important an episode is until I watch your recap
That is not a Pagoda. If anything that is a Torii gate (Japanese) they serve as a boundary which separates the sacred space from the mundane world where humans live.
I enjoyed "The Foundation" as well! I'm not sure if they greenlight a season 2 or not. Hopefully, they did. I'm going to look into it now and will update soon. Update: they have already filmed it and it's set to arrive Q2 2023! Awesome!!
Food for Thought Bo-Katan walks both worlds was somewhat teased by the replacement of one of her shoulder pauldrons, one the night owls and now the other the mythosaur
The conversation between the Armour and Bo about the forges is an analogy about herself and bo. One is royal and is a pride to its people while the other is small and humble to even exist. Both are forges, like how both are equally mandalorian.
I gotta say Zeb looks incredible in this episode he looks exactly like he suppose to from the animations in Rebels i jus hope we get to finally see Grand Admiral Thrawne now thats how you do CGI
First we're teased with purrgil and now live action Zeb... Karabast, this was a great episode. I love the analyses you do. Makes me appreciate the shows more. I always go back and re-watch after.
This had some great Mandalorian action. Really cool seeing all of them work together to take out the pirates. And Bo Katan being the true leader makes sense to me. I like that she can remove her helmet so others can see who their future leader is. I wonder if when they finally unite under one clan if Bo will get rid of the helmet rule. And Mabry under her rule the one with the darksaber is her commander or cheif. The one under the Mandalorian leader. So far I'm liking where this is going. The creation and orgins of the First Order is cool too but the Mandalorian lore is way more interesting.
Just to add that Hera can also be seen in the leaked Ahsoka trailer so the whole Ghost crew can show up in that series. I did not think they would put Zeb in but he looked amazing here. There is no way they put in all that work just for this scene.
This may be the best channel to learn all there is to know about every new episode of The Mandalorian and then some. It was interesting to learn how in westerns they deal with pirates which this show has that feel and theme going on Star Wars style.
The one thing I’m not clear on is the Armorer’s change of heart about Bo-Katan’s encounter with the Mythosaure. Last time, she seemed to not take Bo seriously when she was saying she actually saw the Mythosaure, not just in vision but in the flesh. She seemed to allow it as a mystical vision but not buy it as a reality. Now she says that the fact Bo saw the beast is a sign and she takes it seriously enough to give Bo a special dispensation for « walking both worlds » and unite all the Mandalorians. I like the turn of events but it’s like there’s a scene missing between the two stances the Armorer takes. It makes me question what’s really the Armorer’s belief or position on this. Is she hiding something, is she using Bo to accomplish her own designs…? Or does she sincerely believe she’s the one who can unite all the Mandalorians?
if i can answer your question,i will tell u this. because now they have land,u cant lead people from hiding spot. others mandalore tribe wont join them. and now,the armorer feel like, the mythosaur the land the freedom its all coming together. and especially when din and bo katan, confirm that their planet not poisonous anymore.
I actually don't know why you think this, when I saw the episode I felt the Armorer took Bo Katan's word as though it was clearly the truth. The Children of the Watch are all about the history and mythology of the creed, and I feel that they would be the MOST likely to believe that Bo saw the Mythosaur.
I have weird thoughts on this season, I don’t like how we haven’t gotten very much on Din Jaren this season how it focuses on more of the side characters but are still likeable characters to follow, with Bo Katen, Pershing, the Magistrate and now the cool rebel pilot
I learn something new everyday. Thanks!! I think the thing he was asking about was a different version of the globe that Jabba the Hutt used for his frogs/snacks.
Amazing episode, the battle of Nevarro was epic, excited to see where the final scene with Captain Teva leads to 🙌 Seeing Zeb in live action was a treat 👏👏👏
I really liked the scene in the New Republic office. It shows just how ineffectual they really are. And Elia talking about how some systems may need to learn the hard way to see the light was great for two reasons. One, Teva accused it of being imperial thinking, and then the Colonel was all "Whoa whoa whoa! Let's not go that far. No need to bring up the Empire." But also, it reminded me of the line from A New Hope, "Fear will keep the systems inline. Fear of this battle station."
Did anyone else notice how close bo and din were sitting next to each other during pazs speech? Idk it what kinda makes me wonder if there's a possibility for a romance of sorts ....
A pagoda is a tiered tower with multiple eaves like the one featured in Game of Death. The "pagoda" that you are referring to is actually a torii or more commonly called a Shinto gate.

I thought the same thing
My thinking is that Mythosaur trumps Darksaber, so she'll get the Mythosaur and he'll get to keep the Darksaber, and they'll continue working together instead of against each other. I like the thought of them being co-leaders.
@@metallichick90or maybe they smash and become king and queen of mandalore
They playing hot potatoes in trying to determine whether they can ruled by the black saber or mythasaur to ruled mandalore..
Zeb looked great. Hope we get to see more of him and the rest of the Ghost crew in Ahsoka. Rebels is my favorite story in Star Wars
Rebels was the only thing they got right until mandalorian season. 1.
Me too! So surprised how good he looks in his live action debut. Idk how they did it but it’s top notch
Steve Plum is casted for Ahsoka, but that’s not the best part…
Eman Esfandi is set to star as Ezra Bridger!
Was that zeb? I was hoping it's him, but assuming not
@@lomiification voice sold me on it. Could still be wrong, but I doubt it right now.
RIP Caleb dume aka kanan jarrus
So is Sabine dead?!
@@mco5634 Sabine will be a main character in the Ahsoka show…
@@mco5634 No... Sabine is very much alive. The only dead one is *cry* Kanan.
will we get a Live Action Jacen Syndulla as well then? I mean, I need something to honor my man Caleb Dume
I love that the Ugnaught looks like Smee. It’s one of those references that’s works so well. Also Zeb!!!! So cool to see him in live action.
I thought the same thing!
Looks like an Ugnaught is Disney bounding Mr. Smee. Which may be my next halloween party outfit.
I was screaming, I loved him so much in Rebels
Apparently, characters from Rebels are going to be in the Ahsoka series
@@allenelliott5647 we know Hera and Sabine are, at least
@@kingofmonsters14 And Ezra right?
I shouted to an empty room when he showed up.
A few things you seem to have missed:
The New Republic airbase strongly resembles the one from the old show "Ba Ba Black Sheep" based on the real life pacific theater Black Sheep squadron who, get this, flew blue Corsair fighters against the Japanese.
Secondly the helmets mounted above the bar combined with Zeb makes for a strong callback to Ezra's habit of collecting Stormtrooper helmets, which in later seasons Zeb helped contribute to.
100% call back to the black sheep
What I also love is "someone I served with" he treats the droid as a colleague which few do.
It's a robot not a living thing.
Truely hope we will get a Sabine appearance this season. From all Rebels characters she is the most fitting to appear
I doubt we'll see her in Mandolorian before we see her in Ahsoka
Are we going to ignore the fact that the Ugnaught cockswain was very definitely an alien Smee? Even his little whimper when Gorian said to keep going as they lost their engines and shields, I laughed so hard at that :D I loved the episode, was invested in it the whole way through, and my heart was so happy for Bo when the Armorer took her back and basically told her "you're going to save our people, I believe you", after all she's done and been through, you know that meant a lot to Bo.
Agreed! I came straight here to comment on Mr. Smee! Outfit and all!
Hondo had a little Ugnaut buddy, I wonder if he joined Shards crew.
I thought the same thing!!
I thought the se thing. Same outfit.
Kinda wish Ugnaught Smee survived.
I don't see how Gideon would have been rescued by Mandalorian since they abandoned Bo for not having the dark Saber which Gideon also no longer has. I think it's a trick by Gideon to pitt the NR against the mandalorian. Loving this season so far ,and can't wait to see what happens.
It wasn't the Mandalorian! It is Thawn!
I also think your idea could’ve true but it could just as likely simply be that some Mandalorian tribes are loyal to the empire. But I agree with you & I’d like to think Gideon is trying to trick the NR
@@dianadowie3985 Thrawn*
I assumed they grabbed him to murder him
@@andy9085 I don't think so the Mandalorians are a thorn in the Imperial Remnant's plans that's why they tried to take out Bo-Katan and now are trying to pit the Mandalorians against the New Republic. Let's not forget Moff Gideon is in possession of large amounts of Beskar ore. Seems like a plan right out of Thrawn's playbook.
Between this and the Bad Batch it’s been a real emotional rollercoaster of excellent Star Wars storytelling!
I love starwars story w/out jedi
@@ZenShroud1Pedro Pascal is doing his absolute best to make this scripting somewhat believable

I Loved catching Gorr The God-Butcher “with face horns” fly a fighter this episode!
finally a really damn good episode this season. Was really good start to finish. Seeing Zeb was AMAZE! his CGI looked real good.
Yeah, they're setting up the Mandalorians so the new republic will fight the mandos. Machiavellian divide and conquer
I think this is leading up to Din having to duel someone, either Gideon or an “evil” Mandolorian over the Dark Saber, then he loses it, but Bo-Katan wins it in a second duel, further cementing her leadership.
*Cara Dune being killed transporting Gideon would make sense..*
During the episode, The Rescue in Season one, she was the one that basically was keeping Gideon in check after he was captured.
It also means Zeb probably got a promotion at some point since he was the rank of Captain for the entirety of Rebels.
Zeb in charge? Yes!
21:27 Kom'rk class Mandalorian ship is also known as a Gauntlet fighter. It's not the name of Bo-Katan's ship, but rather a secondary name for all ships of that type.
Yeah, Ezra Bridger had one that he stole from Maul and it was literally just called "the Gauntlet" most of the time.
My theory is that Bo will eventually realize that she can't run this rally cry alone ,and that it's also Din's destiny to both be the ones to bring all mandalorian together.
It looks like they're setting up what passes for romance between 2 Mandalorians.
Or she'll run the rally cry, backed by the armorer - only to run into the mythosaur who will be drawn to din, with the darksaber, who has learned to ride a small beast and grogu who tamed the mudhorn using force ability.
A dual leadership/Constitutional Monarchy.
One by Blood, (Bo) and another by combat, (Din). Both worlds.
I ship them. Shed make a good mom to grogu
N'y ka'arta'il gar dara'suum
Are we not going to talk about how the “pirates” first mate is dressed like Smee from Peter Pan? 😂😂
I wish we could have seen the armors face during Paz speech. I bet it was “Didn’t see that coming”
There's a comic where Qui-Gon's Force ghost blew his motivator
You mean Din helping the people and Grogu just being there making weird noises. 🤣
I respect your opinion, but I just gotta say that I'm reaaally happy with quite the opposite haha
i too kinda miss that element but with this recent episode i could care less 😂
Yeah both the Clone Wars and Rebels also followed that pattern. The first few seasons or so are more so rag-tag adventures that help establish the characters , relationships and character arcs that then act as a foundation for the wider story introduced later on. This season really seems to be establishing the larger plot of the Mandalorian as a whole and where things will go.
Small correction: it's not 3 Characters from Rebels it's 4. Hera is set to appear in Ahsoka
My first theory was that Sabine could have broke Gideon out to try to get Thrawns location to find Ezra. Hence the beskar embedded in the wall of the lambda.
Ia she leading troops?
THAT- actually makes quite a bit of sense, actually - I doubt it but it would be cool. And, I mean, I know she destroyed it but she did have a weapon that target only beskar, so that shard could even be like a guiding projectile for the blast
That theory makes no sense. She fought with the rebellion just like Zeb. Why wouldn’t she be able to just question Gideon without issue? You really think they’d have Sabine attacking and killing NR soldiers?😊
I think its Darth maul little band of mandos
@@landonjackson6260hey wouldn't still be loyal to him after he....... You seen Clone Wars and Rebels? 😅
What did you think of the episode?

The dark troopers Gideon ultizes are made out of beskar so it could be his own dark troopers that rescued him from the ship similar to their rescued attempt which was foiled when Luke came to the rescue in the season 2 finale.
Actually, they are made out of an beskar alloy, as found by Teva on the ship. This is why Luke was able to slice through them with his lightsaber. Mandalorian armor is made of full beskar and can withstand lightsabers.

13:59 as Carson is talking about conflict brewing in the Outer Rim you can hear a few notes of the Kylo Ren/First Order theme from the Sequel Trilogy
I heard the subtle republic tune playing when Paulie jumped back in his x wing. That was a nice touch.
Both Mando and BB were great this week. I just love that we have a new Star Wars every week now.
But the man says he makes it his business to know Pagodas 😂. Business aint going to well.
YES!!! This is the beginning of the payoff! I love this episode and I love this show. May the Mandalorian reach the goal of 8 seasons.
That gate is a Tori ( Japanese for gate and has the shape shown at Navarro) not a Pagoda (multilevel tower)
*grabby hands* I need that Bad Batch video Ryan, I'm having withdrawals
I think as Djin has the dark saber and when Bo has the Mythasaur they might both be leaders of Mandalore
It’s nice to get a little more of the backstory of what happened before the force awakens
Also did anyone notice how the Pirate's ship looked so much like the Arrow head from the free maker adventures? it's so cool
I absolutely loved this episode... one of my favorites of the series. And of course, I LOVED seeing Zeb!!!
"Complaining about Star Wars is almost as much fun as loving Star Wars."
Well said. And we only complain about it because we love it
The observation that something is rotten in the galaxy is played in Andor as well. The observation that the rebels attacks aren’t random
Loved this episode! The action was great, the cameos were great, no notes
Fuck Zeb.
Wheres chopper?
(I love zeb too, just Chopper more)
This may be the best channel to learn all there is to know about every new episode of The Mandalorian and then some.
I don't know what that thing was you were asking about but the arch at the entrance is a torii, a pagoda is more of a tower
I learn something new everyday. Thanks!!
I think the thing he was asking about was a different version of the globe that Jabba the Hutt used for his frogs/snacks.
Great episode.
I'm not sure why, but I feel like the Armorer is Force Sensitive. She just knows too many things by chance. 😅
Nice music-detail at 15:51: When he's about to leave, the Resistance theme plays in a slower version 👌
They where pretty close huh lol
Worth mentioning that Carano made no "inflammatory" tweets. She stood up against bullies and Disney caved and sided with the bullies.
A pagoda is a tiered tower with multiple eaves like the one featured in Game of Death. The "pagoda" that you are referring to is actually a torii or more commonly called a Shinto gate.
I think the Chinese call it a paifang
Really glad someone else mentioned it. I had to do a double take when he called it a pagoda.
