This video brings back the memories of v5 assault servers
the most experienced players were all tridents making defences while spamming bombs like crack addicts and making you deaf while everyone else was trying to build 7 different omega pads without realazing that the sili is gone
I remember the lag from all the omegas. Was fun

when v6 released i gagged at the three new but terrible building speeds of the new core units, shit felt like waiting for my mother to leave the house when it was someone's birthday and we had to go to it
I liked the air unit physics in v5. It felt so much smoother when changing directions compared to v6. Acceleration and momentum were removed in the new update, and it felt like such a pointless change :/
It was probably to make controlling AI flying units like wraiths easier. Plus it was a pain to have to constantly wait to stop while trying to build. But I wouldn't mind it being added back in for non-core units

If you got hit by two bullets in the javelin you were dead. Also I really liked the soundtrack in this version, don't know if you still hear these tunes on the newer one.

I remember playing mindustry after some time in v6 and looking for where to change my unit like I did in v5
I guess the main reason that darts can take down units larger than itself is that they only fires to it when it is in front of them, and the turrets can't turn themselves
v5 was just the most overpowered version of mindustry

Fun fact: delta's was used for destructing shields in early game and if the shield aren't defended by turrets, especially long-ranged
in v5 we would all rush trident in hex pvp, just for the build speed! thanks for the memories

I've only been playing since V6 and I've never played the computer version as only recently am I close to getting a computer, but this video and some mindustry mod videos are making me want to make a mod with various controllable player exclusive mechs.

Old mechs were so cool. I remember killing a lich (now antumbra) using the dart. I also remember the Javelin being my favorite mech.
The strongest thing about dart wasnt its stats,its was conveyor spam
Why have so many goodies been removed? Some mechanics could work perfectly now, but they were removed😭 But not all mechanics are cool, for example, mechanics with damage from the base unit to the enemy base.
So you could just change the unit, get to the enemy base and that's it. It's too easy and fast building
if you ask me, the mech pads brought a lot of entertainment in mindustry, i find mech pads enjoyable to use in v5 but in v6 where its removed i feel it boring to play with even a gamma who simply looks bland and powerless to the point it needs HEAVY assistance from the flying support tree, like mono makes copper and lead free, the shear help polys give to the player that basically makes core unit’s building speed obsolete, then the mega who really is just a better gamma with the speed and building speed along with repair weapons, then the offensive capability of quad and its massive load for its speed, then the oct which only problems is speed even if its the fastest serpulo t5. and thats just the building, in terms of offense a gamma does nothing against later rounds shields and obviously building damage. all in all even with the current v7 where you can posses all units and command them more precise, i don’t feel im included in the real field, its like your just a commander who told your polys to build this blocks and command your units to attack these enemy unlike with mech pads where you can JOIN with your units or do things yourself and with the mech pads where you have to transform yourself it really feels like you are adjusting according to your base and army needs while participating in it yourself.

joined after v6 came out, I kinda regret cheesing most maps, and with the tragic loss of the command center, i kinda wish i used it more, i might just get v5 to play dagger only.

I think they were removed because they were unbalanced. You dont want one of these just flanking your entire front while they torture supply lines
Fair, though the Dev could have tried to balance them in a way or another, idk I not a game Dev yet so I'm not very familiar with strange balancing.
@@djangel3108 the best way to counter them is to arm your supply lines (put an absurd amount of duos in long copper lines) or tell anuken to nerf
@@xandermadrid4366 tbh In a lot of early levels I duo spam, I've just beaten windswept island with a few use turrets as well as stained mountains.
@@djangel3108 Duos are cost-effective,but dont use a lot of them and routers to supply them,because of passback
Ive tried this with an item source,it takes a while to fill all the duos with atleast one ammo point

Tbh it was so annoying in V5 core, players dont respawn immeditely Specialy on Multi players, some of us were screaming to stop dying when i got play mindustry first time
thats why you need multiple pads and just be in a trident

V6 introduce serpulo and added units poccesion making some of them not useful unlike today some of them is revived by being weaken
